Sometimes, not too often the coffee will not flow through the filter to the cup and what you will find is the pump slows down / quietens down and gives up trying leaving a large pressure build up in the filter holder which can’t be good for the machine. Remove the filter from the filter cup and check the pin hole as per the manual and if it is blocked insert a pin or needle to clear it. Sometimes as happened to me even though the pin hole is clear (hold up to light in background as easier to see) it is still blocking the flow and pressure still building up in the filter holder then you will need to use a notice board coloured pin so it can be gripped and then push it as far through the hole until you can feel some of the pin head on the other side. For some reason it just expands the metal hole the most tiniest of a fraction without damaging the metal but it is enough to allow for the flow of coffee to run from the filter holder to the cup. Remember just because the manual says unblock the coffee blockage in the tiny hole in the filter and in doing so does not necessarily solve the blockage / flow problem. Also you may need to force the hole opening a couple of times and push and rotate against the edges but it will work eventually as when the pressure is building up in the filter holder it has no where to go and needs to get through the tiny hole. Finally always, as per the manual, ensure that the many little holes in the filter disk if there is one with your model is clean and clear (also hold up to light in background to see all the clear holes)

Thanks 🙏 mine wasn't blocked, it had never been used! For some reason the single cup one has always worked. Finally got fed up (after 7 months of using the single cup one 🤣) , did a bit of a google and this was the first one that popped up. 7 months of pain fixed in 1m31s 🙈

Thank you! This kept happening about every 3 weeks! They should fix this problem. Anyway, Problem solved with a hammer and a small nail then had to pound the inside to lower the metal sharpness but worked and happy again. Has anyone told you today that you are a star!? ⭐️
Thank you so much! Our single shot basket used to work and at some point it stopped working while we only used the double shot for a few weeks due to having guests. I didn't understand what went wrong until I found this video. Now it works perfectly fine and it took me only 3 minutes to fix it - no special tools needed!

This easy, quick fix worked like a charm! As others have commented, such a blockage might have another cause, like using coffee that is too finely ground or packing too firmly. In my case, I would not have thought of this solution on my own. Thanks!

I had the same issue, with the portafilter and coffee, the machine was working with clearly low sound vibration, so I started it without portafilter and it was working properly, so I turned the machine off for 10-15 minutes, then I watched your video, I checked that all the filters are good, I put coffee in the portafilter and I placed it and everything worked.
Strange dedica bug, but anyway the machine is great and the coffee is amazing.
Following these videos I changed the pump and valve and was disappointed that the problem was not solved. I normally buy beans and grind myself, but on this occasion ordered expresso ground in error. I found enought beans for one cup and groung these, perfect results. The problem was the coffee was ground too fine. So check your coffee first or better still only buy beans and grind yourself.

This is the followed up of my comment written 2 weeks ago about water no flowing out due to grind size issue. After having watched a video from Lifestyle Lab abt adding paper filter at the bottom of the puck, I tried out the same method but instead using non-woven tea filter and the result was surprising. The problem of water not flowing out from filter cup has been solved. The paper filter will work but I use non-woven filter because it can be reused a few times after cleaning.

If the pressure valve, group gasket seal etc are in good condition, making the hole of the filter cup bigger will not solve the problem of watering not flowing out smoothly. Even I made the hole to 3mm diameter and tamped the coffee powder loosely (assuming the same amount of coffee power in the filter cup), coffee still could not flow out smoothly, likes something got stuck inside. After a few attempts, I realized the problem was due to the grind size of the coffee powder.
Like it was ground too fine?

Need to test this. Just bought my machine and it stops every time when i try to make espresso. I have tried less tamping and diffirent grind espressos. But it wont work. Hope that its only the filter that dont work.

@@woodsideCraig I made a larger hole using a nail and it works better. However buying a grinder with grind options can help to get evenly grinded coffee for best flow.

Yeah this only describes the problem with the filter. First place to check out. But after a couple years, De Longhi machines typically lose pressure, through the pump/valve without any filter basket. So the advice suggestion is to replace the 15 mbar pressure valve (rather than the pump motor). It has been commented that these valves are the first things to fail on De Longhi machines in use. I have previously ordered and received a pump and valve set. The YT demos suggest that De Longhi have a lot of secure slotted screws to under to get access to the inside. When I attempted on a previous machine, it was so rusted through, and awkward, I decided to ditch the machine. The valve replacement is then straightforward according to the videos. But since I am now having pump through problems with my latest machine I will have another attempt to dissemble and refit a new valve this this weekend.

Wrong advice I found out in another video if you coffee is to fine I grounded less and worked. Or use a filter
