It was Mohinder Amarnath who taught Indian Cricket, how to slowly build an innings in one day cricket & later pace ur batting in final overs & win matches, & the same strategy was copied world over. He was the prime factor of India's win in 1983 world cup, when India was an underdog & a weaker team compared to other teams in the tournament. But, unfortunately he did not get due justice for his services, what an awesome stylish player he was, a hook shot specialist & one of the finest batsmen against genuine fast bowling.

Unarguably, Mohinder Amarnath is the King of Comebacks - most gritty and gutsy player of Indian cricket. He was singularly responsible for India winning the World cup in 1983 and the best player of fast bowling in India, according to many all time greats of Cricket.
Last 40 to 50 years, Indian media, press, forums, talk too much about all great cricketers, but huge contributors like Mohinder Amarnath are ignored. The 70"s & 80"s belonged to Mohinder and few others like Dilip Doshi, Chetan Chauhan, ML Jaisimha, Hanumant Singh, Rusi Surti, Abbas Ali Baig, Anshuman Gaekwad, Madan lal, ,,,,,,,,All these outstanding cricketers could have got earlier calls and played more tests but they were blocked. Why so ? ?? Bombay dominated Indian cricket lost out and we did not become world beaters , wherein other talented players hardly got a chance and mediocre cricketers from Mumbai obtained several opportunities. Certainly, Mohinder emerges on the top with a positive mental attitude and he Never Gave Up .
Mohinder shone like a Tiger on the cricketing scenario and blasted his way into the Indian test teams ,even with years of being sidelined and a victim of political despicable cricket boards and selectors, huge gaps, not losing the tenacity and determination. A book should be written on him and circulated in Management colleges, MBA programs and leading B schools on how entrepreneurs can make comebacks and restart their enterprises, after initial setbacks and employees, should bounce back into jobs, after losing them. - Ramesh Vemuganti, Global Corporate Speaker, Trainer, Faculty, CEO Coach, Players Coach, Life Skills Trainer, Mentor.

Mohinder Amaranth ji was called as Phoenix bird during his time. He played his first test match in 1969 , but his second match was only in 1976. He was frequently dropped but he always came back with bang. He is the best player against the fast bowling. Due to bad luck, Jimmy couldn't become captain as well as coach of our team.
