- With overwhelming support, Palestine has been granted expanded rights and privileges in its status at the UN. 143 nations voted in favour, with 9 against and 25 abstentions. Although upgraded, the new status does not allow Palestine to vote with the same rights as full member states.

Totally agree. Once seemed impenetrable is now crumblling right before our eyes. This was also the case with apartheid South Africa. I'm confident that things will happen within our lifetime. Injustices can only go on for so long especially when it happens in realtime and live streamed from the victims themselves. It matters not even if they have 10 super powers backing them they will still fall. This goes for all illegitmate governments and leaders, your time will come.

@@Comedyking09Z UNSC is united nation security council and UNGA is united nation general assembly. the security council has i think 15 members some permanent some full time. among them there is 5 veto power. us, france, uk, china and russia. if any of these 5 country vote no for a resolution it wont pass. this doesnt exist in the UNGA so pariah country like the us backing israel rn cant stop motion by itself. and to give an example the US has use it veto power to protect israel more then to protect the US itself. no other country has even come close to using their veto power to protect another country like what the US does

Maybe some are anti semitic but not I. I have tons of respect for Jewish people who stand for peace, justice, and humanity. Many Jews are in the vanguard of peace, justice and anti apartheid work. They see Palestinians as human like themselves. Palestinians have suffered tremendously under Zionism and it isn’t fair. No one should go through what they are going through and have been going through for over 75 years. They deserve their own state and they deserve the protection of the international community and the security council.

Prior to the 1917 “Balfour Declaration" of the British government's intent to establish a Jewish homeland in Palestine, the British govt had announced plans set up a Zionist state in their _Kenya_ colony. 3.5 million acres of the finest Kenyan land were demarcated for this purpose.
The plan fell apart due to different reasons, including the fact that some of the colonizers already settled in Kenya were straight up antisemitic and opposed the idea of giving prime Kenyan land (that they themselves had their eyes on) to the Jews, proposing that the Israeli state be set up in Palestine.
Kenyans would be experiencing exactly what Palestinians are going through today, if history had played out just a bit differently.
