Finally someone explains it in plain English. It's the gaseous propane that is used in the appliances NOT the liquid. Same concept and problems with propane powered vehicles, thats why they are stored inside in colder climates. Great video, GREAT CHANNEL!
Another option is go to your local automotive supply store and get a 'battery blanket'.
Thanks, Todd. Very helpful tip. ✋️
I never considered the ambient -50c or lower outside temperature affecting the propane like that up here in Alberta during our last storm just recently. Got some more research to do. Thanks for sharing this vital information Tod.
I've never even considered putting a heated blanket on an LP tank. I've never seen it done to tell you the truth. We run all kinds of heaters up here in Minnesota on LP tanks in full on winter. Our ice fishing houses run on LP heaters. One time one New Years eve I was frying a turkey and had to shake the tank a bit to maintain temp. It was pretty cold that night....-15F or so. Got her done and it tasted great.
Great post Todd! Thanks for sharing this informative video!! Stay safe out there guy’s! 🇺🇸
Todd- Love the videos and the great information. I wanted to ask if you are able to safely carry either a 20lb or 30LB propane tank on an all electric class a motorhome. This would be the fire pit and gas grill.
Here's a link to a tech tip where I go over transporting propane tanks legally: czcams.com/video/kp9sRQNqcpI/video.html
Question, what about the class c propane tanks? Use the samething?
Yes
Great info! What about that seed tray warmer I picked up at the hydro shop?
What about the tanks on motorhomes? Do it the same way?
Hey Todd, I used a shop lamp with a 60 Watt bulb (no Thermostat) this Winter and noticed the rotten egg smell after a few hours.
Is it possible that the boiling LP created too much pressure and the regulator opened a safety valve?
Or...you can pee on the tank! Sounds gross, but it works...right, Todd?
