@shreddie herger Thank you! I think Guthrie use a variety of techniques, and in this one it's mostly alternate picking combined with a little legato and sweep picking when he does arpeggios. From 1:23 - 1:26 there is some hybrid picking and also 1:34 - 1:36 and 1:44 - 1:46 and 1:56 - 2:02.
I would love to know how to record such a thing, like, the softwares and hardwares/devices you've used. The sound is so amazing! Do you think some tips could be shared?
@lenickramone Thank you! Absolutely, I used an Axe Fx 2 for the sound, I used a Marshall JCM800 amp with a Ts9 Tube Screamer, going into my Scarlett Focusrite interface, and then recording in logic pro x.

I heard this a little while ago by you and thought it was phenomenal, so I decided to listen to Guthrie version, sorry Guthrie as much as I love you, I prefer your version petter, had to be said, the tone was more pleasant to my ears and those bends and pinch harmonics, awesome, still love Guthrie but you topped this one big time, respect..
Hi Petter, I’m currently learning this and just wondered if you had any advice, did you practice to a metronome or did you play to the original video slowed down, as I have tried playing to a click and certain parts just don’t seem to sound right but when it’s with the video it does ? Just any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou !!
Hey! So the way I practiced this was slowing down the track with the solo on top of it using the program “transcribe!” and then gradually speeding it up as I got comfortable in the lower speeds. Lots of hours and days of practice, but just keep at it and you will get there! 😉
You my friend, are the only superhero that have been tried to cover this terrifying solo.
