"Which country first domesticated the cat?" I find it quite fascinating that my cat Floyd was on my lap vying for attention when that question was being asked!

How did you end up doing overall? Did you make it to any more matches beyond the second one?

We made it all the way to the maximum number of games won - about a week on TV.

That really is impressive. Must have been some good prizes in there. Well, pretty good for a Canadian game show at the time anyway. This is from a little before my time, but I have seen a few other episodes of this, and I like it.

$120 then would be roughly $400 now.

I have episodes that aired on Game TV as well. Do you have the complete episode that was posted so we can all see it?

We have the complete episode, but uploaded only this portion for friends.

Sadly, we were informed that this was the only episode still around, due to it being in Sidney Cohen's personal collection, as someone in the audience had made a poster to wish him Happy Birthday. We obtained a copy from him after seeing a bit of footage included in a Canadian documentary film called Souvenir of Canada. This clip just so happened to be the one where "Mike" (my husband) started his first game. We were thrilled to be able to get this episode, but were told there were no more available, all having been destroyed or recycled by the TV studio.

If you scroll down to another post you will see that Game TV apparently had about 14 episodes of this show that they were airing around 2008. www.gameshowforum.org/index.php/topic,15459.msg185967.html#msg185967

klam799 Thanks for the info, here's hopefully one of those 14 episodes show up on CZcams in the near future.

i swear, i would pay anything to see 20 or more episodes.. I was 13 and my dad used to take me to the tapings and i've probably seen like 35 shows with him. I would love to see me at 13 with my dad in the audience, who no longer is with me. We were on camera maybe 200x total. I was hoping this was one of the shows, but it wasn't.. Damn.

One more has surfaced: the pilot hosted by Sidney M Cohen himself, posted on Canada's game shows channel.

It's too bad Goodson-Todman couldn't get the US rights to the show.

They could've if it wasn't from shows like "Press Your Luck" that redefined game shows. I would love to see 'The Mad Dash' to COME to the US as 'Mad Dash Million' which one contestant reaches the finish line for over $1,000,000 in cash and prizes. Have Alfonso Ribiero host and George Gray announce.

The show is basically a version of "Video Village", which was created by Heatter-Quigley.

Right. I really doubt any US producer would touch this concept, since Sony owns Heatter Quigley’s IP.
