I really like the effort they took to put some personality into the main character's animations.
Totally agree. All those animations must have takes ages to do, but they really make her come to life.
It so damn smooth
I had a lot of fun with this. It's packed full of weird little moments that made me smile (such as getting beaten up by a gorilla for stealing its bed). I should note that the difficulty for the combat hasn't been balanced yet, so a lot of the fights are very easy. This will be fixed in the full release.

it’s seriously impressive that this was all done with rpg maker. I use rpgm myself and I always love seeing what other devs do with the engine
I'm not too familiar with RPG Maker myself, but since you're saying this, I found it interesting how sometimes there's a kind of "frame" overlaid on top of a character, when an animation plays, for example when the protagonist goes through a door. Do you think that could be to get around limitations of the engine? Like, the sprites that make up the environment might be limited, so the dev overlaid, basically, an "animated gif" on top that plays the animation...?
@@plasticflower I think it’s most likely to reduce the different amount of animations needed. if you look at all the different doors in the game, you’ll notice that there’s a variety of designs, but when the player opens or closes a door, the animation shows the same door design (correct me if I’m wrong on this, I haven’t watched the full video/played the game myself yet). the “frame” likely helps to hide that and keep consistency. the dev probably created a common event (an event that can be called regardless of what map the player is on) that plays whenever you open/close a door, and it’s easier to just play that animation each time than keep track of your map ID for each and every door and play a different animation for each one. it also has the added benefit of looking cool lol

I love it so much as much as I hate the theme of eldritch horror.
I love how Akane is funny in many situations but strong at the same in many battles, I like sm the characters with those traits
I have seen other asian/anime inspired games with possibly non-organic super soldier swordsmaster lady and an AI bot sidekick and themes about distant future artificial lifeforms, but it's like these struggle to let go of the grimy and serious mood, meanwhile this one has a light hearted and silly tone through visuals, sound design, dialogue and world interactions, which feels nice and refreshing
I'm not usually a fan of these, but I'm watching through now and really enjoying the little animated sequences, there's so many and they're so charming. Lovely stuff. Just seen the gag about carrying the orb back to base....

great game, nier automata-esque but with goofy yet sometime serious kind of character, definitely worth playing in the future
Best graphics ever made in an RPG Maker game.
I wonder how some developers make pixel perfect animations. Like this and castlevania sotn for example, did they literally took their time to move each pixels and create such eye candy? I'm just super impressed with these style of pixel animations

Holy crap, you're right. I hadn't even noticed that. I figured it's Unity or something. I've never seen an RPG Maker game look as good as this!

The animation in this game is amazingly smooth
Now this right here what we need more ofnin the video game industrial complex. Games that focus on making fun games. Pixel art is great, and the characters are all unique even billy hating on women is a fun thing especially since it seems the other bi***es dont seem to mind lol. And the animations, my goodness, how much personality can be shown just by animations. Her win pise is downright adorable.
Overall game seems like a lot of fun, with lots of little secrets sprinkled all around.

The main character reminds me a lot of Maetel, from Leiji Matsumoto's manga such as Galaxy Express 999, or other women from his manga who often share the same look. Even if you're not familiar with his manga, you have likely seen the style of character in some of Daft Punk's anime music videos.
Know nothing about JRPGs or RPGmaker, but this is fantastic! The art style, the animations, and especially the humour - the dev is a very talented individual!

Haha, you're way more observant than me. I played through the whole thing, wrote an article about it, edited and uploaded the video, and I STILL had no idea it was an RPG Maker game!

i think it would have made more sense if the bot cried about using the elevator and breaking the 4th wall, since you are not controlling it but her. Her asking if the bot is satisfied, since the player gave to its desire to use the elevator, would be more logical ._.

I like how the male NPCs are taken by her beauty. They pretend like it's just business as usual when they deal with her, but they are bubbling with arousal inside. That's how I am in real life when I'm with a hot woman. I NEVER say what I'm truly thinking, and I just pretend like she's ordinary. I consider myself to be highly virtuous because of this!

As a tip, if you want to compliment a woman you find beatiful, say something about her hair, clothes, earrings or some other style thing she put conscious effort into.
If you say something about "beatiful eyes" (like Akane in this game ;) , it only comes across as creepy, and in the end no one picked their eyes (or nose, lips etc) so while flattering, it's also kind of "uh-huh..."
