I just realized that the name of the company is a foreshadowing… “villain guard” … it is literally the villain of the episode as revealed in the ending
I swear Moffat probably intended her to be younger... Like, around 6, since that should actually makes sense when looking at her personality but they probably couldn't find a kid actor fit for the role.
@@claytabulusshogun That's probably true, but he should have re-written the part once he realized that a child of the right age wasn't available. It's just a small glitch in an otherwise great episode, but it too could have been fixed
@@ugolomb I don’t think he should’ve re written the part for it they should’ve just got a younger girl if she was meant to be younger cuz there is millions of young girl actresses. This girl doesn’t fit the part end of the day.
Why would she change her lines if she knew her dad was a hologram? She could just think it’s a hologram of him and he is communicating or still the real him but digital or just grieving
this episode felt like the first actual dr who episode to me, the first one kind of felt rushed, the second one had an underpowered villain that just felt underwhelming. but this episode the doctor consoles a child, unravels a government conspiracy, gives a big old f u to capitalism, and stops a war, all while staying still, his life measured in millimeters.
He said it as Vil-LEN-gard throughout the episode, and he already knew about them before landing, so one could draw the conclusion that the company named itself with that intended pronunciation.
@@Daikon_Micucci Unless one had heard earlier doctors pronounce it VIL-len-guard before. czcams.com/video/_lSvsgX_yXg/video.html&ab_channel=StewartSeyfried So either lazy writing or a mistake. Usually they have someone hired to go through the script, add or shift emphasis for key words and phrases, but it is hard to get everything right, so sometimes cute little mistakes like this one survive til showtime. :)
It hasn't. Stepping on a landmine isn't an exclusive thing to Gensis of the Daleks or any show or film. Anyways, that was just a minute scene in Gensis of the Daleks, not an entire story. Doctor Who has never done a story before where the Doctor is trapped on a landmine for an entire episode figuring out how to stop it. I feel you complaining for no reason
yeah....a WHOLE lot of "and this happened" and handwaving as to how it was REMOTELY possible. which seems to be a running theme currently. i am not impressed.
“Ah, Ruby, Ruby! Ah, why’re you lying around missing all the good stuff?”
“I was a little bit preoccupied with MY DEATH”
To quote River, "shame you were busy that day!"
"Ruby why are you laying around missing all the good stuff?"
"BECAUSE I WAS SHOT. A LOT."

But also spoken to sound like "engarde".
That girl saying “I remember daddy” I don’t even know how it stayed in the episode.
The rest was so good as well 😂.

How could she not tell that was a hologram?
She was definitely supposed to be way younger than the actress they used.

Hi, I hope it's okay to ask, could you please add a warning for the flashing images in this video please? Thank you so much!
It's VIL-len-guard, not vil-LEN-guard. Time for the doctor to take language lessons from himself.

If 11 can say "Ti-volley" and 12 can say 12 can say "Ti-Vo-lee" then 15 can say Vi-len-gard. It doesn't damage the plot.

ok… but doctor who has been doing ass-pull endings like this for years. remember when Tennant set the entire atmosphere on fire in The Poison Sky?
