I won't know as much as you about the finer detail but my attitude would be to get him in and sort other things as needed. We can't afford to miss out on the variety the guy offers. Striker next. Getting goals takes pressure off defence to some extent.

Basically says that he’s devastated to have missed out but that his form second half of the season gave Southgate the decision to make. Open and honest and hopefully means he’ll be fired up to find his best form again for us next season. Gutted for him but it’s down to him to show his best form again.

I think he didn’t deserve to after second half of the season and he acknowledged as much. Gutted fir him as no doubt it would have meant a lot. But hopefully that fires him up for next season so we can see him find match fitness, and play at the high levels that we know that he is capable of.

I like Ito. His team just finished 2nd in the Bundesliga too. He's got a good bit of experience whilst still being of decent age. He makes good sense and if he plays on the left he would mean our team is better overall in the air too, which has been a problem. Eriksen should not come back IMO. It got sour and he is bad off the ball. He always was the type to run, but never threaten to retake possession, now he's older.

@@barnabyslater_ theoretically, it’s possible but I’m not sure that’s the route that we would go down. Be interesting what happens with Bissouma and Sarr too. Add in Bergvall too and there’s a mix there but does it tick every box? What about Eze? What about a number 6? Etc but I’m just eager to see Bentancur back at his best as that’s quite something to have in the team.

Ito wouldn't be the replacement for Son from a marketing standpoint. Nowhere near close to having the same stature. We don't even see the same phenomenon being replicated with Mitoma and Hwang, etc. Son is unique in this regard.

I'm japanese so know well about Ito. But I don't think he fits Ange system. His ball playing ability is quite good, but physical attributes aren't enough. Loses most air battles and not that quick.

@@barnabyslater_ Not Maddison but not taking Grealish is a mistake. He gives a different element, one that can break down the toughest of defenses and allow others to shine/score. He's probably still the best drawer of fouls in England.

@@barnabyslater_ watch the interview where he plays darts with micky VDV for instance, VDV’s body language is like dude “relax, chill out”, of course VDV is supposed to be the younger player and here he’s acting way more mature...usually I have a good eye for these things...I think at Leicester city he could fly under the radar and was not pressed as hard and as he is at Tottenham; usually Leicester was playing from behind and he was also never in the “big club” spotlight, so there was less pressure. There, he could get away with more, hence why now you always see him on the floor with his arms open looking at the ref for a foul...I think this new style of rapid forward passing has exposed his game which is leading to him doubting himself....anyway I could be wrong and I want him to success but there is definitely something going on, and I don’t think it is physical.

@@barnabyslater_ no, that wasn’t a major part of his game, however I’m drinking the Big Ange cyanide and what I’ve seen from us this season is a quickness of play based of significant reps (just watch us play out from the back all the passes and two to three option to pass after the second pass is neatly orchestrated by reps), Ericsson is way to slow, does get back/recover anymore and though he’s quality still, he’s not the quality we need right now. Modric is older, yes almost geriatric, however he’s won several CL titles since he’s left us, his country have been to European and World Cup finals over the past ten years, would love that winning mindset, defensive acumen and level headed zen-ness that Modric possesses those qualities would serve us better for the future. Imagine being a 19-23 year old player at Spurs and Modric is there, chilling playing table tennis with you and talking bout his experience in Spain. It’s a big time pipe dream but if it were to happen, we’d definitely win a trophy within the next two to three years and no longer be the banter club of the league. COYS!
