    A tip for new users.
    I bought this for use in my raised garden pond with a viewing window. First it was tested in a bath and the sub sank to the bottom and the hover up function was not powerful enough to lift the unit off the bottom. I had used eneloop pro rechargeable AA batteries which were too heavy. When replaced with standard (non rechargeable) batteries the sub worked perfectly. When weighed on scales the rechargeable batteries were 50% heavier than the standard batteries - hence the problem.

      @RCModders  Před 6 lety +2

      I agree. Battery weight is critical. I had to use lower Mah NiMh ones to get the weight right and one ballast screw on the front for the balance.

      +Kyrre Strøm I only had the iPad on holiday with me, so wouldn't have been able to upload to imovie, so I didn't. When I did try it in the bath I wasn't that impressed, but it did work. At this price and size I was more than happy just to get static dive and good depth. You do have to stand over the top of it to get more than a few feet range below the surface though with the infrared control. A good fun toy.

    • @RCModders

      +Kyrre Strøm I don't know. But I don't think the quality will be that good. The sub ran for a long time on the 1300 mah NiMh batteries. When I put 2400 ones in it just sank as they were too heavy.

    • @RCModders

    Are there any submarine with camera whic can give live camera?

    • @RCModders
      @RCModders  Před 6 lety +9

      Given the problems of transmitting high frequency video signals through water, usually the live video feed seems to be via a wire to the surface. Then either a direct connection to a screen or from a floating buoy attached to the wire with a video transmitter in it. Hope this helps.

      It has a basic camera which you switch on and off from the infrared transmitter. You can then download it with a micro USB to USB cable to a PC and see the footage. Did you try the sub with Alakline batteries? The rechargable batteries you are using
    are lighter that alkaline batteries. I think that would explain why you are fighting to stay down.
    You need a wee bit more ballast.

    • @RCModders
      @RCModders  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi I think that the pool was about 1.2 to 1.4 metres deep at the shallow end where I was filming and the submarine did get to the bottom. Although the range of the RC does reduce with depth and you need to remain above it when it is deep. If it looses radio signal the sub just floats to the surface as it needs the internal propeller running to keep it below the surface. As soon as it regains signal it starts working again.

    • @RCModders

      2.4ghz cannot penetrate water at all really in my experience. My big RC submarine (also on my channel) uses 40Mhz FM. This sub is controlled by infrared.
