But karen gave her a look like "girl you know you better sing something" lol that's why everyone was laughing and that's what led to her singing "where Jesus is"
Kierra (KiKi) adores Brandy and Brandy adores her and her family. Kierra has mentioned Brandy is an influence in her music like Brandy has mentioned the Clark sisters has influenced her. When I hear Kierra sing I do hear her Mama, aunts, Brandy, Kim Burrell, etc in her voice. Nothing wrong with that. Its called having INFLUENCES. Im not sure why there are so many negative comments about her on here. This is why so many younger folks staying away from church and gospel music. Yall so negative for no reason. Just listen to the music and hush.

IEM 2012 nah, I hear her mama and nem when she adlibs, brandy may do some adlibs has never sung like that baby, that's purely the Clark's influence that suling like that and execute that style so well
The notes she chooses within the scale and her run style show signs of being influenced by Brandy for sure. When I hear Kierra I hear a combo of KCS, Brandy and Twinkie which is a GREAT mix imo. Not sure why people get defensive when you mention it. There isn't a singer alive without influences. Perhaps they're not familiar with Brandy's material past a certain point?
In my opinion, I do recognize the Brandy similarities here. HOWEVER, there are MAJOR differences between them both....mainly in regards to the fact that Kierra maintains the ability to sing in her "CHEST-voice," ANY note/riff that Brandy may execute. While Brandy is an amazing vocalist, she's no match for Kierra's sheer POWER and Gospel-approach.
