Probably my favourite video so far! Beautifully filmed and such a great dynamic with the other guys!! I'm leaving for south east asia in a couple of month and even though I've been wanting to visit India for a while it's quite intimidating. Especially for a female solo traveller. How to make pitha ? Answer: Rice is been soaked overnight and drained completely Then it is crushed with the help of mortar and pestle to a fine powder Then it is sieved and little amount of water is sprinkled to moistened up the powder so that it doesnt breaks off while making it (water use as binding agent actually) Then water is boiled to piping hot so that steam comes out from the pot Then the kettle lid is used to make the pitha where the powder and sesame/grated coconut is filled up in sandwich style method then covered with muslin cloth and cover the pot head up side down so that steam touches muslin covered sandwiched rice powder and sesame or grated coconut mixed with sugar .. Leave it untouched for 3-4 minutes then remove it from the pot head , Ready to eat .

How to make pitha ?
Answer:
Rice is been soaked overnight and drained completely
Then it is crushed with the help of mortar and pestle to a fine powder
Then it is sieved and little amount of water is sprinkled to moistened up the powder so that it doesnt breaks off while making it (water use as binding agent actually)
Then water is boiled to piping hot so that steam comes out from the pot
Then the kettle lid is used to make the pitha where the powder and sesame/grated coconut is filled up in sandwich style method then covered with muslin cloth and cover the pot head up side down so that steam touches muslin covered sandwiched rice powder and sesame or grated coconut mixed with sugar ..
Leave it untouched for 3-4 minutes then remove it from the pot head ,
Ready to eat .
