RSProduxx i need some variation in the vocals , cause it is not something i can listen to for hours on a play list. Bands like killswitch engage, Trivium, Metallica, wolves at the gate, DEFTONES, I can listen to hours and hours, cause they have a lot of variation in the vocals.

Alissa is an absolutely opposite kind of personality in comparison with persons like Lady Gaga, and other famous pop stars, who are just sick with materialism and window dressing in general.

Absolutely. Like you, I get the sense that she's as far opposite of the self-absorbed synthetic posers in the music industry as you can get. She's really smart, grounded and straight edge. She's also insanely hot - but I'm a fairly conservative guy and a bbq lover and I don't look much like her Franken-fella, so i doubt it would work lol! All joking aside, I have immense respect for her and wish she would do more nice clean vocals; she has a beautiful natural voice.

Alissa: Nunca sentí presión de ser un modelo de conducta para nadie, pero sí creo que vivo de una manera respetable y admirable, y si eso inspira a las personas de vivir también de esa manera entonces está bien.
Recibo muchos mensajes de gente haciendo preguntas o agradeciendo por la música o de que se hacen veganos o vencen el alcoholismo o de otras cosas, y estoy más que feliz de ser ese ejemplo. Siempre creí en, es decir, en literatura están estos cuentos de enfrentamiento, de lucha, como en liderar, por ejemplo. Creo que hay mucho que ganar de ser un individuo consciente y de estar despierto en la vida y no de sólo seguir al condicionamiento y las normas sociales, y de ser tu propia persona, y eso es lo que siempre fuí, incluso cuando tenía como 8 años, y creo que si es posible, el ser un modelo de conducta que no valora lo que como un montón de modelos de conducta populares, en términos de cosas superficiales, lo que para mí es muy irresponsable cuando tienes una gran plataforma pública y la usas para promover el materialismo y cosas que en verdad no importan y que no mejoran el mundo y la gente en ninguna manera, eso es muy irresponsable, entonces trato de usar cualquier voz que sea que tenga para hacer la diferencia, pero eso viene naturalmente.

Alissa: He sido vegana por al menos 20 años ahora. Es una gran parte de quién soy. He sido vegana por mas tiempo de lo que he sido cantante,...y es algo que definitivamente trato de volcar en mi trabajo, pero eso es porque en verdad me importa, no es porque sienta que es necesario o que es buen marketing, es porque es sólo quién soy y entonces si voy a cantar honestamente, probablemente va a ser algo de lo que me importe.
Todos en la banda, es decir, una de las razones de que Arch Enemy se lleve tan bien, como personas y musicalmente, es porque todos compartimos valores muy similares cuando se trata de derechos humanos, derechos de los animales, incluso política, religión, todos somos parecidos en esos temas. No tengo miedo de que Mike vaya a escribir letras que no me sean cómodas para cantar, eso nunca sucede, cada vez que me da las letras, estoy como: Sí! Desearía haber escrito esto. Es genial!, y cuando yo esribo canciones, de la misma manera, sé que él no va a decir: Wow, no podemos hablar de esto! Y eso es una de las cosas geniales del metal. También, tan pronto como empezé con el metal estaba como: Uff, todo el mundo va a querer callar acerca de esto, solo van a querer canciones pop, acerca de un amorío o cualquier otra cosa, pero en verdad era lo opuesto. Rápidamente pude encontrar que la gente se aferró al hecho de que estaba siendo auténtica y que no había nada de malo con ser tú mismo incluso si tus valores son un poco diferentes a la mayoría de la gente en la comunidad. Me dí cuenta de que no sólo está bien hablar acerca del veganismo, como una manera pacífica de vivir, pero también fué apreciado.
Tengo suerte en ese sentido, pero también no sé si pude haberlo hecho en alguna otra manera.

2da pregunta: Las bandas modernas de metal dan mucha importancia a la tolerancia y a la paz. ¿Encontraste eso cuando primero entraste a la escena?
Alissa: Cuando primero empezé con el metal creí que literalmente era más relacionado a la escena punk o hardcore donde hay más veganismo y gente directa tomando postura por causas en las que creen, hay algunas bandas con letras más motivacionales, lo que pensé que era en verdad genial e interesante el oír esta yuxtaposición entre musica realmente agresiva pero enronces un mensaje pacífico, y creo que el metal siempre ha sido en mi opinión la forma más pasional de música, y sólo tiene sentido en ser pasional (risa) acerca de lo que estás diciendo cuando le estás entregando música a la gente, sea una verdad o no, o más como un show, y creo que tal vez en la época temprana del metal, tú sabes... está obviamente el metal clásico donde sólo ser metal es algo de lo que ser pasional y hay muchas canciones acerca de cuán metal somos y elogiando al Señor del Metal, lo que también es divertido porque refuerza a la comunidad de alguna manera, y hay otras bandas donde hay más lecciones de historia donde aprendes de diferentes eventos que pasan en la historia global, lo que también es cool.
...No importa lo que alguien escriba, si es acerca de su pasión o de cómo va a salir, creo que va a estar muy bien, y creo que justo ahora el mundo está en una especie de alboroto y rebelión, y tiene sentido que la música, que siempre ha sido sobre eso, se esté uniendo con esas causas ahora.
