    NIST International School used to be the International School Bangkok or ISB. I went there from 1964-1969. What a change!

    I swear I could see ‘one’ swimming behind the taxi boat - 555. As always great VR of the soi.

    Thanks ESB for another interesting look down Soi 15.Ruamjai Hts. looked very nice and surprisingly has very reasonable rentals.

      Yes it did look nice which is why I let the camera linger on it a bit longer. I need to check out those rental rates myself.

    Right across that alley that connects Soi 15 to Soi 19 next to the Dream Hotel is where Dream 2 is located. Dream 2 has the pool on the roof while Dream 1(which you saw in the video) is where the Flava restaurant and breakfast buffet is located.
    I have been visiting Bangkok for almost 10 years and only stay at the Dream. Soi 15 is a great location in between the Nana and Asoke BTS and also near to the Sukhumvit MRT. Plus it is quieter that other Sois in that area at night(but safe.)
    Another good video! Keep them coming.

      I really like the hotel. The 2 buildings are right across the street from each other and they have workers outside to make sure that you don't get hit by a scooter/car.
      Very good breakfast buffet(make sure it is included in your room rate.) Nice rooftop pool. Firm beds. And I really like the location because as I said, it is quiet further up Soi 15.
      Plus, you have the 2 BTS stops and the MRT within walking distance. The hotel has a shuttle tuk-tuk to take you to either, but walking is faster with the Bangkok traffic.
      7 Eleven is also close by(as it is anywhere in Bangkok!)

    like the pier at the end of the soi. Great way to navigate around Bangkok. Pity they filled in many waterways decades ago. Much more relaxing than BTS IMO.

      What an awesome place Bangkok would be with all those waterways restored. A true Venice of the East.

    There's a men's tailor shop across the street from Hooters. George's has been there for 25 years. There are a lot of good tailor shops in Bangkok, but George is one of the best. Thanks for doing these walking tours of the Sukhumvit sois.

      Thanks for the added info - may be useful for some trying to traverse the sea of tailors on Sukhumvit.

      I've been using George since I began visiting Thailand in 1992. I used to always stay in the Dream Hotel up the street when I was in Bangkok, so George's shop was very convenient. Dream Hotel is an excellent boutique hotel with swanky rooms.

      I work in the 4 and 5-star hotel room booking industry. Recently stayed at Siam Kempinski, which is supposed to be in the top 5 in Bangkok. Great location, because it is adjacent to Siam Paragon, but I prefer Dream Hotel.

    Yes Movenpick does make you think of ice cream, I thought that when I first saw these in Switzerland but it seems they're quite a big company.

    • @Eatsleepbangkok
      @Eatsleepbangkok  Před 6 lety

      I wonder if they provide guests with unlimited tubs of ice cream? That would be quite an appeal.

    Thank you for including the nearest train stations. Including the spelling of the station was a most welcome bonus. Perfect!
    Question. Have you found any buffets that have a large selection of Thai vegetables to go with the meat and fish dishes?

    • @Eatsleepbangkok
      @Eatsleepbangkok  Před 6 lety

      I am glad you like the graphics showing the BTS stops. It was your feedback that prompted me to include that. I am sorry I don't know that much about buffets in particular. However, most food courts will have a lot of vegetables to enjoy with your meat. I think the ratio of vegetables to meat is definitely in the vegetables' favour.

      I was lucky that there was a canal boat arriving just as I got there but I think these canal boats are very regular so you don't have to wait long to catch one.
