Put a heap of hours into this with my fiancé today and we are both loving it. This is a very satisfying game, especially if you have someone else to play it two player with.
You found a good game and a keeper of a waife. This man be winning life right now
@@alexanerose4820 hahaha thank you!!
If i had a nickel for every parkour fantasy game featuring a magic gauntlet id only have two nickels but its weird that it's happened twice and in the same year
Jesus, If i had a nickel for everytime I forgot then was reminded that Forspoken was released this year. I would probably have many nickels.
You’d have 3 cause Prince of Persia, twin thrones. The chains might as well be a gauntlet
@@sahzusthere was a game called Vex for the original Xbox
If i had a nickel for this same comment on every Atlas Fallen video, id be rich
@@Sh0qzillayeah and there was Nimrod back in 1951 but even though I played and had fond memories of vex it is about as relevant for games these days as Nimrod would be to Vex
I don’t have any consoles other than my switch but these vids are so nice to watch because of how detailed every review is and also the great narrators
This is soooooo AI. Lol
@@Digitalcanvas77 Clippy could replace your intelligence.
Having a Switch as my only console would freaking SUCK.
@@pauls9034 The switch was my only current gen console from 2019-2022 and it didn't suck nearly as much as you would think. There are a lot of new games that aren't coming out for the switch, but almost every indie and a lot of older games and amazing first party titles come out, so you aren't starved for content in the slightest. Even when I got a good gaming laptop I ended up playing more games I could run or I could already play on my switch as there aren't too many AAA games that are too interesting anymore.
I really liked the conclusion as it briefly summarized the video and your experience with the game while showing the games flaws and strengths.
It’s called a “review” mate 😂
@@akennedymusic I just complimented the review.
i just want to thank you for such concise short reviews. I dont have the time to watch long 10, 15 min videos when decidiing to try a game or not and I appreciate you trying to keep it short. Thanks
With a name like that, I'm not surprised the story and characters fall flat. This definitely felt like a video game first kind of deal from what i saw in the trailers. I'm happy its not a hot mess. Definitely wishlisting👍
Excited to try the co-op, apparently a lot of the combat systems are built to complement co-op play, which is ambitious to say the least
Played this entire game entirely co-op with a buddy, definitely worth it as our builds complemented each others, aside from the story it’s a very enjoyable game that you can probably knock out over a weekend, combat is definitely the highlight here and you can put together some pretty nice builds. The armor sets are also pretty dope and the amount of customization you have with them is fairly nice, while you can’t mix/match pieces, there’s enough you can do with the material colors that it didn’t really bother me much - besides they looked sick on their own, especially the last 2-3 you unlock. If they ever decide to make a sequel I hope it improves on everything that made this game work so well..and that we’ll get a more fleshed out story next time, world building and some of the exploration was definitely solid though, for sure. It’s a solid 7.5/10 for me, pretty above average with some stuff narratively weighing it down, but definitely worth playing *especially* in co-op
Great review, just a heads up it’s actually out tomorrow 08/10/23
**edit** The Steam page just updated and apparently now it is out today.
I thought the Surge 2 was so much better than I imagined it could be so been holding some hope for this one!
So is this game good?
I might give this a look. I did enjoy The Surge games quite a bit.
Ive never even heard of this, and it looks very slick! The environment design looks really nice - those weird shaped coral mountains and vistas
So what I take it, the actually important stuff is good? I might check it out then
Good job
might actually try
I've followed this studio from Lords of the Fallen to Surge 1&2 and they have a knack for engaging gameplay. I'll happily give this a go :3
:/
I recently have seen more and more 50 bucks games, with a bunch of games for 70 is 50 now AA or is it just a built in discount?
So, basically, a competent version of Forspoken... got it!
nah I'd say more like about the same, forspoken gameplay/combat and traversal feels good too, while story isn't the best, altho seems forspoken's story is a bit better/of better quality at least than atlas, but of course it has it's own drawbacks...but yeah the things forspoken was nitpicked on u can find in atlas too like visuals(altho a lot has gotten patched for forspoken now), atlas has pop in galore, bad textures and character models, lacks enemy variety, and again the story and dialogue is a dud
Lmao playstation fanboy! You're going to talk bad about how this game looks and it's lore when forspoken looks like a ps3 game and has some of the worst diolog and storylines ever 😂
@@davidziegler136 i literally bring up how those things are bad in both/in atlas as well and just that if u want to get technical in forspoken the story is a bit better because it had a higher budget, mocap and such behind it, so it's like how can atlas be a more competent version? smh more like y'all are the fanboys coming quick to compare to forspoken on some hate ish
@@davidziegler136 also "worst dialogue story ever" yeah no definitely not, there are much worse
@melxb forspoken looks like crap. Story and characters are crap and they had a higher budget? And the developer of forspoken went under and folded into square Enix 😂. Yeah so much better... 🤡
rare to see a western dev do an action game with actually decent combat
this one was sorely needed now that ubisoft cancelled the sequel to the one decent game they cooked in the past decade
the major complaints ive heard is that there is little story and characters and that the gameplay is the best part
which only means one thing, this game is a banger
Plenty of Western games have great combat, weeb.
Looks like darksiders 4
Only $50? Damn. You don’t see that with new games like this everyday. I mean it’s still pretty pricey but I always said I’d rather pay $50 for a new game rather than $60 or $70
It’s a game alright! Nice review
This is a beautiful looking game
yeah just the crazy pop in with some low quality textures and character models, samey enemies, need work though
every game has the same enemies get over it. day 1 patch will fix pop in... games are played to have fun. stop nit picking@@melxb
@@BROOKLYNBORN1994 if it fixes the pop in great, also some more variety wouldn't hurt, it's not as blatant in every game, so it's a fair negative to bring up, other reviewers like ACG has brought it up too, but it doesn't mean the game still can't be enjoyed
@@BROOKLYNBORN1994, yeah, stop criticizing please, I have stocks in that company.
@@BROOKLYNBORN1994every game is built different, a open world action rpg having bad enemy variety isn’t good. Cope.
Buy the game!
Looks engaging, but my problem with traversal-heavy games is usually how much they hide in obscure areas that often require a higher-than-average skill level to reach rather than just an above-average effort level. I've been burned before and having some of the best skills/abilities/gear hidden behind those kinds of skill ceilings sours my enjoyment of the whole game.
IGN's review says that there are items tucked away in early areas that can only be reached with late-game upgrades, but that those items are not any more powerful / essential than anything you'd acquire through normal play.
So you like to have your hand held.
There's some things you can't get until later in the game, but I haven't run into any arduous platforming challenges.
Looks like Monster Hunter without the crafting crossed with Forspoken if it wasn't, y'know, completely shit.
Looks fun, but I've got a Switch! 😅
It’s okay, we all got our flaws
well just buy an additional console or pc handheld 🤷♂️
Wait this is out?
God damn, that look blur.
Nice
A shame they release now while apparently everyone is on baldur's gate 3, but maybe they will get those that are allergic to turn-based before Starfield
This game is tiny. I have hit the platinum trophy on ps5 in under 25 hours. But you know what?… I had a blast. Really fun if kind of short game, which I’m alright with.
Perhaps this is what Forspoken could have been.
You say that like it doesnt have the same critic score as Forspoken lol
huh? more like this has a similar result as forspoken, there are things to like but it isn't perfect in all areas, lacks enemy variety, wack story/dialogue, visuals with the crazy pop in, low textures and character models need work, but of course since this is considered like an AA game, most will be more lax on it
@@melxb I'd say it's a better result, just not vastly so. The dialog isn't great, but nowhere near as cringingly bad. Pop in doesn't really impact much, as it's happening off in the distance, you see it happen, but it's just kind of there, I haven't had any in your face surprises. But the combat gives it a distinct edge, easily better designed and more engaging to battle with, and there's still plenty more to unlock.
Though yes, enemy variety is severely lacking.
@@RagnarokMic again i could find enjoyment out of both/both worth checking out, especially when price is low enough
This is what Forlorn wanted to be
Forspoken, Forlorn was a survival game, I believe.
Saw this somewhere before, and I thought: "If the core gameplay look stays the same, I won't care for much else".
Gonna pick it up in a week if nothing else comes up.
Edit: I tried it, it might get better at the end but first minutes are horrible, limited skillset and forced, low effort click to skip narrative.
Looks good, but too much sand for my liking
Soulslike unnamed broken world omg i'm falling asleep as i type this sentence
It's not Soulslike at all.
So this is just a better/actually good version of Forspoken
no, it's the same result
Don't disrespect Forspoken like that
Only from the arm weapon quick traversal aspect, but from that base association, yes, it's the game Forspoken wishes it was.
Um, that was four minutes, not three. I think Atlas Fallen didn't deserve all of the bad press that it has gotten. I quite enjoyed the game (right up until the game-breaking bug that stopped me from being able to play). I will say however that the game has the absolutely worst voice acting I have ever heard in a game - and I have played a game made by a high school kid. Clunky dialog writing, and painfully bad British accents. I am convinced that rather than hire voice actors they simply used people from around the office to do the voices. But other than that (and the game-breaking bug) it was enjoyable.
Didnt know anyone would make a clone of Forspoken of all things...
More like Darksiders imo
Other than the talking arm wear and speedy traversal, not very similar, not close enough to call a clone.
why does this game look better than forsaken-i mean forgotten- i mean forspoken
Foreskin
i just watched skillups 20 min review of this and it looks awful lmao
He’s pretty spot on. I rather have the story be a little flat, having my imagination fill the gaps, than the route taken with Fore Spoken. You couldn’t un hear or un see some things in that game, ruining the gameplay for me towards the end. Atlas Fallen is a much better game, in my opinion.
This looks like a soulless prince of persia game but you get a good bit of points for the co-op better luck next time devs
"the unnamed" is such a stupid idea for an entire caste of people. I don't care how low your station is, someone is going to give you a name to distinguish you from the dozens of other people they interact with.
Ok 1 minute into this video and already infinitely better world building than Forspoken (a.k.a. Forgotten)
Firft
Forspoken but a half a tablespoon better.
Forspoken but with a boring story Instead of a bad one? Nah I'm good
Gameplay is much better, combat is pretty solid.
Ok, I'm sold. It's not $70, it's got the combat that Forspoken was trying (?) to do and THEN some, and I can overlook some stilted performances if the combat and traversal is good and fun.
So how is it?
@@captaincrabs7208 I'd say it's a ton of fun so far, traversal moves at a great speed, combat is pretty solid top to bottom, map doesn't feel overlooted (at least as of yet), I've thoroughly enjoyed the first 2-4 hours (not sure exactly how long I played) of the game. Have to see if that momentum holds through the whole campaign.
@@RagnarokMicHah, momentum, I get that
