I'm learning Blender"s Grease Pencil right now. It's fantastic and very powerful. But it ins't that easy to learn. My tip: try to make a simple animation and search specifically what you need when you need. Try to learn everything before do anything is stupid, because that app can do everything and have too much options blender together. Focus in what you really need in that app is the best way to learn blender.

Just randomly came here and been surprise to be featured. Thank you!!! By the way that's a really good review of both software, I used to be on Animate before and then it took me years to make the move to Blender ;) I guess i was lazy to learn a new software from scratch ^^. Keep going to make some good stuff, it's cool.

Two Blender features not covered is:
    1. You can make reusable 3d background in Blender that can be seen from any angle. This is a massive time saver.
Think of backgrounds that can chance angle of view with out any pencle work at all.
This feature alone make much more dynamic serious animation
    2. You can turn 3d models into line art.
Which is a crazy reusable art from any angle.
    BTW has everyone seen Sintel?
this is 6 year ago technology. Adobie can't compete
they have a new toon-like camping tip animation too

Blender 2d and 3d animation and drawing creating characters and backgrounds is it easy to use and learn and does it take lots of computer laptop power? And exporting into mp4 does blender hangs? I am thinking of using learning blender as its free, forever free for Blender is that correct?
