Coming back to watch this again after the news, RIP Bob 😢
Same here @mikesg878 one of the greatest broadcasters hockey as ever seen and as a habs fan I always loved hearing his voice. He will be dearly missed by the entire hockey 🏒🇨🇦 community. RIP mr Bob Cole
*”And That’s all she wrote”* 😢
It’s poetic for a legend to end a career to watch a amazing start to a new one
Bob has entered the afterlife and is now calling games in Heaven, RIP Mr. Cole and thank you
for Hartford ;)
- Happy Retirement and All the Best Mr. Bob Cole...!
Hope he’ll return for special appearances every now and then. Best wishes Bob!
Who would win:
The entire roster of one of the best teams in the league
Or
One rookie in his first ever NHL game
I'm not sayin he would of scored 320 goals in a season. But that's his career average 🤷♂️
Not to take anything away from Poehling but the leafs did rest 4 of their regular defensemen, so it really wasn't their entire roster.
@@MotterPotter 3x82=320?
J Litzenberger yes Montreal is a great team leafs bounced Like a bad cheque at the bank bruins in 4
# Remember1967
Great game, now pack up all your stuff and we'll see you again at training camp.
One of the best commentators of all time
Not one of the best THE BEST!
Hes the best no one even comes close to him!
11:01 the pop of the crowd and the reaction of Cole! "yes sir" gave me goosebumps and chills. What a moment. I still miss Bob Cole every Saturday. What a run!
His voice was the voice of my childhood on Saturday nights at home, watching the CBC across from Windsor.
Mickey Redmond pumps blood through my veins, but Bob Cole rattles in my brain.
"The Canadians win the Stanley cup" That's my favorite line from Bob Cole. RIP Bob.
Rest Easy, Mr Bob. You’ll be missed ❤️
Thanks for all the great memories Bob. Your iconic voice and liners are still missed to this day.
Thanks Mr. Cole for the memories. I grew up with your HNIC game calls and ever since I was a kid I appointed you as a true legend. Nobody does it better than you!! This was a great game for your last call, especially with OT and SO and MTL win. I always found you had the true NHL "playoff" voice.:) All the best Bob, and happy retirement !!! Thanks again for your service, and you will be missed...
OHHHHH BABY!!! WHAT A FINAL GAME TO FINISH YOUR CAREER!
GG MONTREAL!
" GO LEAFS GO "
Who’s also here after learning that Bob Cole died 😢
Gonna miss you Bob.. A big part of my childhood.
Same
Rip Bob 😢😢😢 best voice of hockey no one even comes close to him! Ty for all the great memories!
Nobody painted a hockey game with their voice the way you did Bob Cole!!!! Rembrandt would be proud.
I would always watch CBC with Bob Cole with no HD over NBC with HD all season long.
Amazing thing to do to honor the amazing career of Mr. Cole.
Mr. Bob Cole, I wish you all the very best in your retirement. You are a broadcasting legend, and I will your miss hearing you. Thank you for all the memorable calls.
Whos here after he passed, RIP to an absolute legend in the sports commentary world 👆
Miss him on Saturday night in Canada 🇨🇦
man what a great moment to have HNIC have Bob call the OT/SO period by himself.
That makes this truly more special and damn..whos cutting onions nearby!?!
I thought the co-commentators' mics weren't working for some reason. Props to HNIC. Those onions must be powerful, the aroma seemed (sniff) to have reached (sniff) Great Britain...(why are my eyes all wet??)
God Bless Bob Cole. Thank you sir for everything you have done for hockey. Best of luck in future endeavors. Thanks for the memories.
Rip, glad I got to experience this game from my hotel room. Legendary commentary, fly high 🦅
Damn Mete almost got that OT goal
Some day...some day
Miss you bob cole one of the best.
A life long Montreal fan…Drove 10 hrs with my wife and boys. It was our first nhl live game…. What a night!!!!
Bob Cole....The greatest....ever. Nobody can compare to you. I can't help but feel sad to lose you. You have always taken every broadcast to another level. You brought the game to life. You made it more exciting. I've been listening to your broadcasts since the early 80's. I grew up with your calls. I will miss you. No one has ever done it better and no one ever will. You're the best Bob...I Love You!

Bob Cole❤👍️ My favourite always. Grew up with you and have many great memories with my brothers and friends where you were the voice. All my exciting hockey memories have your voice in them. Will always be the "Great One" of broadcasters to me.
Enjoy retirement and know you are loved by millions. ❤️
What a class act best in the business there will never be another!
An absolute legend. You will be missed, Bob.
What a game to end with. Amazing.
Bob Cole, I wish you nothing but the best!! Enjoy your retirement. Your calls have been remarkable and memorable for the past 50 years. No one will ever replace you, ever. Thank you Bob Cole for the memories. Once again, happy retirement!
RIP Bob Cole 1933-2024
Bob Cole = G.O.A.T.
Cant believe it’s already been 4 years since he retired, all of the amazing commentators like him, Jim Hughson,Doc Emerick, and now John Garrett. Hockey play by playing will never be the same without them
I would add Dave Strader to this list. I started watching NHL games on Channel 5 in the UK and he was commentating on a lot of those games in the beginning along with the Stanley Cup FInals. I thought he was a great commentator and I was so sad when he passed away.
Bob Cole, Greatest of all time! Thank you for being the voice of Canadian hockey.
What an absolute legend.
RIP 🪦 🥀
What an absolute legend!!! We love you Bob!!!
the news of his death made me come see this again, and hearing him say all good things come to an end, just got me..r.i.p bob cole ill miss your voice buddy...greatest to ever do it
Happy retirement Mr. Bob Cole, always loved listening to your excitement every time Montreal scored a goal and just your overall commentary over the years was great and will not be matched by anyone else, I wish you all the best in your future and Congrats on 50 years as an NHL commentator and what a way to go out last night going all the way to a shootout calling Poehlings winning shootout goal! Go Habs Go and Go Bob Go!
Miss hearing bob, he was there for many great games and also he was there through out my childhood and teenage years
God bless Bob. Thanks for the Memories
too bad he's dead now..
I can't think of a voice that more sums up an entire sports culture, or narrated an entire nation's culture as perfectly as Bob's.
“Oh baby” Bob Cole Forever a Legend.
Bob Cole was Hockey Night in Canada RIP❤
Bob Cole is a truly a broadcasting legend & I will miss his call of NHL Hockey games.
Great job as usual, Bob Cole!
All the best Bob!
What a treat! Best wishes on your retirement, Mr. Bob Cole.
Legend!
Thank you Bob. R.I.P.
“Hello to hockey fans in the United States, Canada and Newfoundland!”
I’ll never forget those opening words to the most iconic theme song in all of sports.
thank you Bob.
I love you forever bob cole
Legend!!!
Like the voice of an angel.
Rip bob cole! Legend announcer 😫
"YESSSS SSSSIR!"
Watching this 3 years later ...still makes me feel a bit shaky. The voice that made me fall in love with this game. He feels like a close friend.
Storybook ending for this legend.
Simply the best voice of hockey, Bob Cole. "Oh baby", that's all she wrote, will be missed dearly from coast to coast.
Ohhhh baby, what a career!! May Mr Robert Cole have a long and happy retirement, best wishes from a fan in the UK. Let's now hope for a Canadian winner of the Stanley Cup - Go Leafs Go and COME ON YOU BLAZE!!!!
Those final 12 minutes were a great way to cap such a legendary career as a broadcaster.
RIP Bob Cole.😥
bob cole is the best ever wish he does the bruins and the maple leafs thank bob
My memories begin in the mid 80s and Bob was the man then and great career. It's a shame that the current class of announcers are not like the Bob Cole, Vin Scully's that the golden era had.
Grew up listening to Bob. Such a legendary voice. Yeah he's not as crisp as he used to be, but I am gonna miss his voice. :(
We'll miss you Bob Cole!
The greatest of all time.
Agree
Easily
Respect from a Bruins fan.
“Did it go in?”
“Sure” 😂
I can never watch that enough.
I'm going to miss him😭😭
Crazy that he could do this in his mid-80s.
rip legend
Yes sir!
You know he's getting old when he's got a glasses bandolier
Thank you for many decades in front of the mic!
The best ever.
Hockey night in Canada and fans will miss u Mr Cole. Enjoy your retirement.
RIP, iconic voice
I'm not sure if I already commented on this.
Bob Cole's mom told him. "All good things come to an end," but it's almost as if the hockey gods were like, "We know you have to go, Bob. But we're going to get you to stay for 5 minutes longer plus 8 penalty shots. We don't want to say goodbye just yet."
Wish he could have stayed forever. But I'm happy he got a chance to say goodbye and get his flowers.
“…and then, that’s all she wrote.” RIP Bob Cole
ALL HAIL BOB COLE!!!
Unforgettable voice
Rip bob cole you will be missed!😢
We will miss you . And we will miss your voice .
RIP Bob Cole.
YES SIR
Am I the only one who noticed 2 guys kissed on the jumbo screen at 7:10?😂😂
i don't get it, why's that noteworthy?
Although Foster Hewitt's TV calls of the 1972 "summit series" between an NHL all-star team and the Russians are better remembered, it's my understanding Bob Cole did the English-language radio broadcasts in Canada of those games (I believe Rene Lacavier did the French-language call of that series on both CBC French TV and radio; and Boston's Bob Wilson called the series on American radio over the Mutual network).
And that was all she wrote
Boy, it's awfully dusty in here. Thanks, Bob, for helping all of us love The Game as much as YOU do.
Rip Bob Cole.
I'm a sens fan
Bob Cole is the Canadian Vin Scully
Rest in peace :(
Sad to see him go but he was way past his prime. I never enjoyed him as much as other play by play guys and was always wishing it was someone else if he was doing a game I was watching.
🙄
Go habs what a finish for your CAREER
Bob Cole, Howie Meeker, Rex Murphy some fine Newfies
Toxic man ahem....Rick Mercer?
