TRANSFORMING a standard pick-up truck into an eight-wheel, 21ft-long beast has taken a Tennessee man 20 years and some “epic man-hours”. Steve Francis, 48, has customised nearly every aspect of his truck, lowering the body by three and a half inches, adding six 20-inch rims, packing in a V8 engine, and adding suicide doors. The vehicle started life as a plain 1989 Isuzu LS SpaceCab, but since being transformed has won numerous competitions and taken home multiple trophies at car shows. Steve, who owns his own towing company, told Barcroft Media: “When you get that feeling of winning a ‘best of show’, a ‘best overall’, that is such an incredible feeling and adrenaline rush.

Mini trucks are cool to begin with, this guy went over the top and it looks great.
This is very cool! I always wanted to do a triple axle treatment or put tandem front wheels on one of my vehicles. Yeah, you'll definitely notice a difference in how wide to take corners when you take this out for the first time after modifying it from stock. I think the biggest pain would be the excess tire wear when they scrub against the asphalt on the sharp turns.

This man's great sense of humor is indicated by his vanity plate "DETAIL" which is kapakai (a little Hawaiian lingo for ya). Krazy nice build!

luv the truck real nice .. i showed this truck to wife and kid. i remember a few not a lot of trucks like this ,, some had 4+ axels under them.. i was maybe 14-17 yrs old wanted one so bad.. well then came work, kids, life.etc lost the dream . around 50 now . and after seeing this ,, the dream is back on.. bucket list... :-}

I remember seeing this truck at the Autorama in San Antonio a few years back
It looked so nice in the before picture but now it's so different from the other cars, I'd have it the way it was when he started the build, but it's nice to see people doing different stuff

How does the triple back-axle handle turns? I know that rear wheels may suffer from lateral scrubbing, because the axles don't all have the same turning radius.. One solution for trucks is to airlift one axle when not loading cargo. Some other trucks can steer their rear wheels as well.

I remember back it the early 90s when I 1st seen it, as the Maroon tandom axle on the crowns that you told me you could have bought a new Mercedes and used one with the amount of money you had in it.
