Opening scene is the siding at Pando. Second scene is the S-curve at Mitchell.....then the West portal of TPass tunnel. Next at Keeldar into Tennessee Park.
First RGZ scene is between Gore Canyon and Bond just west of Yarmony. Then at Bond, passing the Jct leading on to the Craig Branch....and leaving the West end of Bond...now on the Dotsero Cut-off.
THEN, Glenwood Canyon. The 'unknown freight' is the same train led by 5333. He chased it East to Dotsero, filming from what was then the US-6 overpass. Train is headed on to the Dotsero Cut-off headed East to Denver. 5316 is back in Glenwood Canyon....two scenes.
Could not read a number on the wallboard train headed East to Gypsum.
3017 is Eastbound out of Rifle, CO.
The UP Kaiser train is near Debeque. This train loaded on the Aspen Branch at Mid-Continent in Carbondale. Same train is then just coming into Palisade, CO. RGZ again in the same area of Debeque canyon.
Final scene is at the East end of Thompson, UT.
Nice to see that Mr. Harris actually got into Colorado. Love the entire collection, just wish the captions were a little more accurate.

I think I'll take your text and do an updated version. I wish Harris had left notes like he did on his earlier films. for some reason he just gave up and wrote a title saying generally where he was but didn't leave dates or anything. I'm ignorant of virtually everything you wrote even though I've written the zephyr on that route several times. Thanks for all the details.

    What year is this video?

    • @LeeWitten

I'm not sure exactly as he didn't record it in his log book but his previous film 048 was made in early July, 1975 so film 049 would be close to that same year, maybe late July or August.

    Nice Rio Grande action Lee!
You originally thought of making an up to date version for this? You don’t have to, just a question.

Not sure I know what you mean by an up to date version.

    • @AlikStansberry

@Lee Witten I mean like Updated or Revised version like how some of these are named after being reuploaded with additional information viewers have helped fill in. I was reading the comments and saw Ray’s comment.

@@AlikStansberry OK, I see what you mean. I've thought about that. I'm kind of burned out on this project right now. I'm relying on the comments to inform people of errors or identifications in the video. My attention is on our model train museum for now.

@Lee Witten it’s no problem sir, you put so much effort into digitalizing these films over the last number of years. You deserve a good break.
