It's so interesting how many others commented how they relate to it. One of my friends in my major sang this at a recital, and it was a little less "glamourous" and more intimate. I was fighting tears the whole time. The lyrics are very honest and touching, so it's good to know I'm not the only one feeling like it was written for me.

+Skylar Lankford with proper support an alto can definitely sing this! There are some high-ish belt notes, but it mostly lives in a very alto-friendly place

the first time i listened to this song i was actually crying. and this barely ever happens to me when listening to music- many cause me to have tears in my eyes, but not many make me really cry like this one- it’s so beautiful and relatable as someone whose life is very similar to this
After my mom died I had trouble opening myself up to other people and drove them away then I realized I was lonely. Really it's better to lose someone knowing you had time with them then not have time with them at all.
