      I bought a mint condition one used for $80, so maybe look into ebay, reverb, craigslist etc? For that price, if they put out a new version think of it as an add on, if you want even more knobs, buttons, faders.

      Head on over to the Novation downloads page. Select the LPPmk3 and then go to technical docs. There should be a PDF for the programers reference manual. This should give you all the info that you need to know. I haven't used the LPPmk3 for covers or any lighshow sequences. On page 57 of the LPPmk3 manual, it shows you how to activate the programer's mode. Hope this helps!

    in the custom modes is it possible to use all of them as a drum rack? loading one shots and loops? kinda like having 8 different drum racks available at all times?

    • @DontBFlat
      @DontBFlat  Před 3 lety +1

      You can have drum pads on all of the custom modes. If you wanted to trigger separate drum racks in Ableton, that's work just fine. Remember that its a midi controller, so it doesn't produce any sound on its own.

    • @DontBFlat
      @DontBFlat  Před 4 lety

      I have only used Ableton Lite, which comes packaged with the LPPmk3. Lite is very limited, giving you only 8 audio and midi tracks to work with. After registering your LPPMK3, you do get a discount when upgrading to either suite or standard. The best way to figure out which version to use is to use a trial version. Go to their website and download the 30 day free trial and see what you like.

    rather informative but what's the difference between the PUSH & the NOVATION so as an aspiring Dj/Producer I would know which one to purchase from the two or buy both

    • @DontBFlat
      @DontBFlat  Před 3 lety

      I haven't owned a Push, but in terms of general differences, the Push has a screen, knobs, and a touch strip which the LPPmk3 doesn't have. The push is also more expensive, but it come with better Live integration, since it's built by Ableton. That being said, the LPPmk3 has a built in sequencer which the Push doesn't have. It really depends on what you're looking for in a controller. If you want a super hands on controller for Live, go with the Push. If you want something with more hardware integration, go for the Launchpad. Do your research and pick which one will best suite your needs.

    Great video! I have a question. So, I've been sequencing with my circuit for years. On the circuit I set up multiple sessions for the same song, so I can have completely different song parts, that don't share the same patterns. I switch between them when needed to make longer songs that change a bunch. Is there anything similar with the Launchpad pro mk3? I see you can make scenes out of the set of 8 patterns you have, but is there a way to do something similar to circuit sessions on the fly?
    Great work man!

    • @DontBFlat
      @DontBFlat  Před 4 lety

      Thanks! The LPPmk3 has 64 projects that you can save your patterns into. You can change projects on the fly much like the sessions on the Circuit.

    • @DontBFlat
      @DontBFlat  Před 4 lety

      The LPPmk3 will work best with Ableton. You can download a software that allows it to run in other Daws like Logic, Reason, FL Studio, and GarageBand. Other Daws are not currently supported. For standalone sequences, you have 64 project banks. Each project can sequence up to 256 steps or 16 bars. You can change between sequences seamlessly, giving you almost unlimited amount of sequencing potential.

    • @DontBFlat
      @DontBFlat  Před 4 lety

      If you use it with an unsupported Daw, then you won't have access to the sessions mode at all. However, you can still use it as a midi controller.
