Waiheke Island is a brilliant weekend destination, only 45 minutes away from downtown Auckland on a scenic ferry ride. On our first visit to this picture perfect 'island of wine' we discovered several beautiful wineries, ate at a variety of great restaurants and enjoyed the gorgeous beaches at Oneroa and Onetangi.
