- It's time to venture into the hardest WW2 mod in Hearts of Iron 4.
This might have been the hardest Germany game Tommy has ever done in HOI4 and it's delivered to you by World Ablaze.
This mod keeps everything the same, but makes it ultra historical and realistic.
Now you can imagine this can make parts of WW2 Germany very easy and very hard.
BUT it was all hard, vanilla HOI4 cannot compare to the challenge that the hardest HOI4 mod brings to the table.
Can Tommy win? Well all I will say is you will see MULTIPLE tries during this Germany campaign...

The hardest WW2 mod is actually 'ULTRA'. It tries to make the economic strength of each nation as realistic as possible so when playing as Germany you truly feel like you are alone vs the world. They allies are multiple times stronger than Germany economically.

@@tutugry3105 I have played pretty much all famous WW2 mods and ULTRA is def the hardest. I am not saying that it fixes the game or the ai, but it’s still the best one if you want challenge.

Tommy, you Should produce Panzer 4 A because they can be converted to Panzer 4 D. A lot of the tech is convertable, read the description of the tech. If it says "Efficiency will be retained" you can convert its previous version.

@horriblepancake It is definitely feasible, Tommy just doesn't take his time and pay attention. He gets impatient and upset and starts making mistakes while blaming the mod every time he doesn't instantly win or achieve all of his objectives without making the proper preparations. For example he built exactly 0 naval bombers and wouldn't just build up his air force a little bit more before rushing. If he would just wait and take the resources in eastern Europe before attempting to Sealion he would easily win.
To be fair if I played HoI4 every day for my job I would probably act like that too, but it's really tiresome to watch as a viewer.
There's a point in the video where Tommy realises, after tens of thousands of hours in game, that you are supposed to follow railways when you're pushing. He spent the entire video complaining about supply and how unfair and broken it is without understanding something so basic and obvious that he would immediately realise if he would just stop and think before getting mad and blaming the developers.
I love Tommy and watch all of his videos but he deserves criticism in this regard for sure.
That being said...this isn't the actual Ultra Historical Mod. This is World Ablaze which isn't bad a being realistic...but the actual "Ultra Historical Mod" is even more realistic.^^

If you do manage to sealion in this mod, the UK and Canada will merge, so that you cannot capitulate them unless you go to Canada, this keeps them in the war preventing you from ending it before the US joins like in vanilla.

I find that this mod is the right balance of complexity for an advanced hoi4 player. If you are bored of steamrolling vanilla try this mod.

Try the total war mod, it’s like a in between of this mod and black ice. Imo the best single player hist mod for experienced players who feel vanilla is too easy and want a challenge. Mod is very hard because ai gets insane bonuses and in depth barb/ pacific war mechanics

@@stefy00 Too bad... Complexity of Black Ice is awesome. It takes time to become proficient at it but it's the most immersive mod out there.
@@kamilosowski3889 I deem BlackICE overly complex where it really doesn't have to while at the same time missing true historical depth. It is a decent shot at perceived realism but falls very short in terms of ACTUAL realism. As an example it is completely impossible to actually produce the plane, tank and ship numbers the US historically churned out which just kills immersion for me.
