I still say it’s worth it. My Daytona Scat Pack Charger stands out like a sore thumb. As a 60 year old man, this was my dream car. I didn’t go with a Hellcat because I couldn’t use the 700 plus horsies so I went with my 2019 Daytona Scat. I brought the car on my birthday (12/22/1962) and it also doubled as my retirement present to myself. I’m planning on keeping my Monster as long as humanly possible. #moparforever
i blame Dodge & rappers for several reasons:
1. they’re a modern muscle car with a boat load of power
2. their factory security system is sh*t
3. rappers have mentioned them in their songs about how they’ll spin the block or how savage you can be. so it brings loads of attention to the vehicle making it a target for theft.
4. the parts and powertrain are expensive and looked out for. so thieves steal them, strip them and put the parts on their own mopars or sell them for top dollar on marketplace or black market.
5. the overall popularity of the vehicle over the years
6. takeover kids have disgraced the name. making them a target for law enforcement because of how common they are at terrorizing/vandalizing the public streets and motorists

Now when you think about it with the Hellcat moniker and the hell people have to go through in owning and protecting their vehicles, I would have never put this realization together. Literally had a eureka moment reading this comment wondering why did it take this long to come up with this thought. You are 100 percent correct on this matter.
I just traded in my Hellcat Challenger yesterday. I was not enjoying the car. I was paying a lot of money for a car that sat in the garage. Now I have a brand new car that I don’t worry about.

I bought a 2015 Charger SRT 392 with only 15k miles on it a couple years ago. Never in an accident. One owner (old man who drove it on the weekends). Fully loaded. The PERFECT used car find. Yall know almost every single SRT/Hellcat that is used has an accident or 6 on their Carfax. I LOVED that car. In early June, it got stolen out my DRIVEWAY. Never found it. Needless to say, because of that, I will never own another Mopar. I dealt with a lot of b.s. even before that happened. I had avoided 3 separate car jacking attempts and someone keyed it just because in a grocery store parking lot. I bought a Camaro ZL1 and know I'll never have to deal with what I dealt with in the 2 years I had that car. Only good thing is it held its value and insurance paid the car off plus we came out another 10k in our pockets. But yeah, I got a Wife and kids... it AINT worth it.
You gotta know how to move with one you just ain’t built for it 🤷🏽♂️ had my 21 scat pack for 2 years ( brought brand new 2 miles ) and not one damn problem, and I don’t own a garage, just gotta know how to Cary yourself with one
@ca4202 not a matter of "being built for it". I don't HAVE to worry about it. It's gone and I have something much better for me. Don't get me wrong, they are nice cars, I've owned much nicer cars with none if the issues a dodge of all things came with. To each their own.
I treat my charger just like I did my older cars I’ve had in the past I just drive them for a good time and not for a transportation to a mall or store and I still have my vehicle because I never let it get out of my sight
Best advice yet these cars aren’t just commuting vehicles the risk and cost are too much I’ve recently came to the conclusion myself even when I’m out at work and everyone is driving their mustangs and Camaros I drive my widebody scat at night on weekends for peace of mind luckily I got my car early on before the theft hype was ridiculous and it’s almost paid off so I don’t mind and not as tempted to drive everywhere
It’s crazy that you can only drive an 70-100k car a certain amount or certain places lol it should never come to that

but what if i’m at your girl or momma’s house excavating in them and then my sh*t gets stolen and now i’m forced to make a claim and walk home…nobody wants to do that.
Except it takes months to deal with the whole process of making a claim, getting paid, making sure the loan is paid off, find a new car in this crazy ass market, and finish the purchase. My Durango SRT was stolen in mid May while in Detroit. I got stranded 3 hours from home and got raped on the cost of a rental. Then it took 2.5 months from start of claim to end of purchase of new car. Constantly calling insurance, banks, and dealers to make sure they were getting paperwork done. That shit ain’t worth my time.

If my Scat got stolen I think I would try and pick up a Camaro, but the bigger issue will be we won’t be able to purchase any of these types of vehicles eventually. These cars will be history in a few years. Only will be able to get them in the used market.
Love my challenger wide body.. it’s a purpose car for sure… I always drive it with additional protection on my center console… it’s worth the stress.. love the videos, and content..👍🏻😎🇺🇸
It’s a great deterrent for sure, but in most states you can’t pull just for car theft. Stay safe and enjoy your ride.
Dodge is not worth it anymore. My Durango SRT was stolen while at a concert in Detroit. We were over 3 hours from home and had to pay $250 for a one way rental. Insurance only covered $25. Then after making the claim had to wait 10 days, some companies make you wait up to 30, before it could be considered a total loss. Then another week to get my money and two plus weeks for the bank to get the payoff. Took another 2 plus weeks to find another car that was reasonably priced ( not a dodge as they are not reasonable). Then it took another 1.5 months to get paperwork finalized. My temp plate expired weeks before my real plate got to me. I’ve owned 5 SRT’s and numerous dodge products and the theft, prices, and stigma was not worth it to me anymore and left the brand.

I was so upset with the dealers I SOLD my Charger I hold a grudge.
I was gonna buy a cat but was so tired of it. I took the check for $20k equity and I'll get something else later.
Same thing applies to all nice/high performance cars. Don't go to suspect areas, don't park in crowded parking lots (you will 100% get a dent or scratch from the haters and the reckless) and don't be all over the place showing off like a clown for no reason just asking for someone to target you. None of this is specific to Mopars.
Worst feeling in the world is walking up to where your car was supposed to be. My 16 Hellcat was stolen fromn DFW airport 2 years ago. I believe there are organized car theft rings operating in some larger cities. My 22 doesnt leave my sight but these days, they are stealing them at stoplights at gunpoint.

I just had my 2021 Dodge Durango SRT with exactly 25k miles get stolen out of my driveway on august 25th 2023 in Decatur, GA. My feelings have been all over the place. One moment its cool ill move on to another mopar, next minute im ready to turn up mad af about my truck. Idk if another mopar is worth getting although i love mopars! The fact that my truck cant be found and idk where it is nor what happen really eats me up!!!

Man you not wrong. I’ve only been mopar for 3 weeks. I was doing work on the car in my driveway making it look and ride how I want and the first and I mean literally the first day I drove it to the gym the police pulled me over on my way home. I stay 3min from the gym. His exact words were these are commonly stolen cars and I’m just making sure you’re the owner. Sadly I’ve only driven the car once since that day and that was to autozone to test my cold air intake and back home.

I’m from the same city as he is. I follow very similar rules that he does when driving mine. I only had a issue with the police bc of the temp tag. But all my paperwork was good to go so I was fine. He just was friendly yet still treated the situation as unsafe until all was cleared.

The unfortunate truth is most black guys aren’t into mustangs and corvettes. The hot car is mopars with the big hemi V8. So that’s the one everybody in theHOOD WANTS. I have a SHELBY GT 500 and don’t really worry about theft because most people think it’s just a mustang. 🤷🏽♂️

I been got rid of my scat and bought me Shelby gt500. All those problems dropped off quick. Never been more peaceful with a vehicle. And believe me... I DO NOT miss it. Police look the other way, even though I didn't hardly have that issue thanks to my daughter and her mother being police officers here in my city.

My boy 1 thing in life that you have to realize you can't stop a thief from stealing your car you can put all types of systems to disable it all you are doing is slowing the thief down from getting it, you take all security measures you want it doesn't stop the tow truck they will load it up so quickly it's not funny ,so the best thing to do is get something that ain't on the high theft list and enjoy it
Bought my wife a scat pack charger. It got broken into right away. I said before something really bad happens I’m getting you a daily driver. Picked up a little cheap Volvo to drive. Scat pack now sits in the garage. It’s brand new. We won’t take it anywhere without being with it. It’s never leaving our Mopar collection. Mopar forever for us reguardless of what’s happening.
I love the compliments for my RT but damn idk if it's worth the issues. Im leaving Mopar it's up for sale now. I've had people pull on my handle
I work in Newark NJ and live 30 miles outside from there. Twice I was followed leaving my job. It's common in Newark for theives to follow you home and snatch your shit later. It's a horrible feeling. Since then I never drive my Hellcat into Newark. I'll only take my Tacoma. You're right sometimes I think why do I own this car.

I have two friends, one who lives in the country in south Louisiana, and one who lives in Houston Texas, both ended up buying a hellcat now I live in south Louisiana and needless to say we have had so much fun and have done a lot of normal activities in it, now when I went to visit my friend in Texas we drove to the mall and he parked as close to the entrance as possible and hit the lock 4 times and he was pretty worried about it, and he did end up getting rid of it and bought a gt500 and he said it was the best decision, but I believe that location plays the biggest role here 🤷

These cars are built for one purpose the drag strip. Unfortunately for Dodge they can burn the most rubber of most stock cars which used in the wrong way attracts cops and criminals
If someone has to drive your car to park or service, put it in valet mode. I see their eyes light up like they want to race my Daytona Scat. Hell, if I let my very own brother drive my car, it automatically goes into valet mode lol! He always comes back and says, “something is wrong with your car. It won’t go faster than 45 mph”. I just crack up laughing.
I currently live on a military base so I don’t have to worry about someone breaking in and stealing cause you ONE BOLD MF if you stealing on a military base lol. But I know once it’s time for me to move im going to have to get another car because I KNOW someone is going to eventually try me with my scat

I also gotta give some blame to the owners because if you know your car is that easy to steal then you must prepare yourself for that, if a Mopar is the car you want. One thing that stopped people from reprogramming my key is the Rfid hider key pouch. They come through and once they see that it's not going to be easy and there is no signal they just leave. I have security cameras which is how I know

I was shopping for one last year. I wanted one so bad. However, the drama of this right here is just not worth it. What good is toy that you're always worried about? Even the TRX is not safe. To me it just wasn't worth worrying about. I wanted a toy i could enjoy. So i bought a Shelby. I drive it to the mall, i drive it in date night, i drive to car shows, and i drive it to work on the occasion. Even with the Camaro and Vette, no worries.
I had my 15' SCAT PACK SHAKER since JULY 2016 here in Philly It was my daily for like 2 years took it to every grimy hood never had a problem until this year got my window broke twice in 2 months I got an alarm so they break the window and leave 6 years problem free

Update from dodge to block the key duplication I think is worth the 2k if you ever lost or broke ur 2 keys, cats come with a black key also as a last resort. How much is piece of mind worth to you if you wanna keep it?
My WB SP did get vandalized, after which I got ALL the security measures you have and I still sold it for a Camaro ZL1/LE because nobody really cares about Camaros; and I still have ALL them security measures, but I don’t worry have as much as I did with the SP.
