Should have run the same optics on both. That way acquisition and sight picture would have been identical. Some of the time difference might be coming from optics.
Came here to say the same. Same optics would eliminate the differences.
Eo holo vs RMR. Is like day and night... 😅 so true.
Doesn't even have to be the same optic, could just run a slightly larger red dot instead of a pistol dot. Thinking like a Vortex SPARC AR or Trijicon MRO. Both are lighter than the Eotech but bigger and easier to acquire on target vs an RMR
Yeah or at least a sro for the light gun. Rmr’s have small windows. Except the new HD version
Optics and Texas stars gave too much chance for issues in a low volume test.

That was one of the better videos y’all have done in recent memory. They are all good, but the departure from the norm was great. “Running and gunning” is a whole different thing than normal range play.
There’s several things I don’t like about nutnfancy’s channel, but one of the things I always enjoyed were the sections where he’s running and gunning, with multiple targets set up in lots of different positions that forced the shooter to move between them.
This video was a joke juat like that cheap lightweight toy gun
I would not touch that pos even if you paied me
Competive shooting is more like combat which shows better difference between guns. Targets are moving not stationary which also includes carrying more ammo and reloads. Interested in seeing stamina for a average person, not a everyday gym rat, doing similar situation.
That was awesome! the Collab was great guys 2 of my favorite , hope to see more of you 2 in the not too long future. Thank you!
I think a transition drill with a bare muzzle (no device at all) will show the biggest difference. Transitions are where the light guns shine as there is less mass. A horizontal plate rack or a long string of silhouettes
I didn't realise Tony was an absolute unit now 😲 we need more of this collab please Matt! 👍

Great intro....great flying Matt....you made the PERFECT sound that the jet makes...good job buddy💯
that flying just reminds me of freakazoid.
That is not what the jet sounded like. This is what the jet sounded like according to an eyewitness: czcams.com/video/ixSvc6o8i5M/video.html
I remember a veteran talking about having to clear apartment buildings room by room. When doing that much all at once he (and those with him) learned what their gun holding stamina was as their technique decayed. Doing continuous room clearing drills for a couple hours would certainly test the difference between these two guns. For example start with a good c-clamp technique and your time is when you first touch the magwell, longest time wins.
Definitely, even just clearing for 30 could be tiring
Exactly! These tests were fun but not really showing the importance of a light and nimble rifle.
When holding security or active clearing you WILL compromise on your grip over time. Personally as a wimpy civilian lol I get tired holding my 16" LPVO AR pretty quickly on range days where I'm actually running drills. If you're actually doing something where you need to be at ready for 30+ minutes the weight (and balance) of you're rifle will guaranteed effect how high you'll end up holding it.
If you've ever paintballed you'll know this pain, and that's weight you can hold close to your body.
First thing i thought of... happy someone posted this. I think over time, hand offs, transitions, and going from carrying to holding the gun, the light weight would make and feel a great difference over time of continual aerobic use.
Hiking all day in the mountains "elk hunting" is when you really start to feel the weight of a rifle. The rainy season has begun again up here in Washington. Head on up and get soaking wet and lug an 8.5lb rifle around all day @ 5000' elevation. That's when the 4lb rifle will really shine.
The best factor with weight is everything that leads up to firing it. Like the hiking, running, the holding an angle for 10 mins above your head (aiming up stairs on at a rooftop) and the amount of weight around your neck such as your full kit with 6 mags.
You should get your hands on the new rifles the military is adopting with their new lighter ammo! That would be a dope video!
The skits at the beginning 👌
Are you new here?
Came for the guns stayed for the intros. LoL
I haven't watched them in years. Always skip to the actual start of the videos
That jet is so advanced it doesn't even create a shadow on the ground! 🤯

Going to need more content with Tony! Should swap arsenals and have a contest shooting each others builds. Would be sick
You are like one of the only people I usually watch the sponsorships of, love your videos, the guns and basically everything about your channel.
I've been planning on building a MIL-SPEC AR15 with a 16" Stainless steel faxon gunner profile barrel, that weighs close to 4.67 lbs. I wont go in to too many of the build choices I have in store but, I hope to reach out to many gun tubers to see what they think.
Honestly I think the eotech helped quite a lot in speed. It's a really good reticle for that sort of stuff.
I was about to say, thing i learned is basically confirmation of my experience in dynamic shooting eotech is bit easier to shoot, cause you can shoot it easier from all angles
Yeah holographics are so much easier to pick up and keep track of in awkward angles. and then just the donut of death itsself really aids in speed at close distances.@@FelixSaint

I love seeing lvndmark out on the ranch. I hope you guys do some more videos in the future
I think the smaller red dot could be playing a part in the times. The eotech is easier to pick up and acquire target then the rmr on a rifle.
Have you ever shot both? It’s very very very minor and pretty much comes down to whatever you shoot more
@@il9861 I have shot with both. I actually had a RMR on a battle arms receiver set with a SLR rail for a build very similar to this one (with a 14.5). I ended up selling that gun eventually, but my 16 inch Noveske with an EOTech is MUCH easier to get rounds on target with. I'm not saying that objectively proves target acquisition is better with an EOTech reticle, but it sure as hell was a lot faster. For me at least.
@@il9861 Bro, the Eotech is WAY easier to pickup than an RMR on any shooting platform simply because the window is way bigger. I have a lot of firing time with both on pistols and rifles. Target acquisition on the Eotech will always be easier and faster for that reason alone.
@@AdoreYouInAshXI It IS objectively easier because the window is much larger and holographic sights tend to have less objective parallax (also minor). The RMR is small for a reason, it was developed for handguns. It does its job very well, but its not a good rifle optic by any stretch of the imagination compared to dedicated rifle optics.
@@Animo2006 Yeah, well... I was trying to be diplomatic about it. But I agree.
This needs to happen again, the collab we all needed
Wow, great collaboration. Watching Demolition Ranch
probably about 7 years and Landmark about 3 years. You are just super,I love you! ;)
I do think heavier is better for recoil control, lighter is more comfortable to carry around so it’s a balance that you have to find with personal preference
Also heavier barrels are better for retaining accuracy as they heat up. Like don't get me wrong I love my carbon fiber barrel on my bergara but I'm not mag dumping rounds through it.
@@RealSteelRangeToysYou also tend to get less barrel whip on heavier profiles, which also helps with accuracy.
@@RealSteelRangeToys I shoot my air rifle so my barrel ain’t heating up with a maximum of 6 pellets per minute.
I’d have to go beast mode to shoot enough for that barrel to heat up as a single shot springer lol 😂
100 percent there is a limit to how light you want a weapon. You want mass to absorb the recoil
IMO weight never seemed to effect my recoil when shooting 5.56/.223 but your logic is there, don't get me wrong, you are right, I just think you need a larger caliber for it to really show through.
A great use for the OIP might be in the training/education setting. I’m sure people teaching classes on either safety or usage would enjoy having a tool that is all around lighter to hold/have slung on them for lengthy periods of time.
Gotta try again with the same optics. Great video, love the collaboration
Would love to see the demo ranch bring in a ton of guest for a 6-12 hour operation (Paintball) test! This will test each guest and their abilities on the field. Each team will have plenty of time to plan and coordinate their strategies. One team defending a site the other has to infiltrate and eliminate targets! Allowing each operator to carry their own chosen loudout. Kinda like the show: Special Ops Mission.
I feel like "boutique" guns like this will probably suffer under more strenuous situations, where wear and tear might grind down the lighter weapon parts.
Sure the armies' M4s might be lowest bidder, but they still went a long way to become reliable and accurate even in the worst environments.
Holy shit what a collab. Never expected landmark on here. Love to see it.

love seeing lvndmark on here. would love to see more content creator collabs like this.
I've watched Matt and Lvndmark for years! Pretty awesome to see this colab, glad Lvndmark got the opportunity to be here!
Best reason for a light gun would be for continuous carry similar to how you held them out in front of you but the difference wouldn’t be noticed until you do like a 5k hump with those two rifles and full battle rattle like MCT on Pendleton with them hills! That’s when you would notice the difference! Just imagine doing a 5k with a rifle versus without one and you would get a basic of the idea
Yess! I asked @LVNDMARK almost a year ago with a donation when something like this would happen with you two! Glad to see it finally happen
Tony is awesome W video! Would love to see more of him on this.
Definitely think it was a strange choice to use different optics for a comparison vid like this, I feel like the optics contribute a lot more towards rapid target acquisition than weight does, and target aquisition is half of what makes a good timed run.
Yes, after running the test, I totally agree. We went for a normal optic on the Mk18 and the lightest optic I had for the OIP. Probably should have standardized them
target acquisition is also a VERY personal thing. Regardless of the sight you have equipped on the gun. The persons eyesight comes into play more than the actual brand of sight does. If a person is extremely Far/Near sighted, a sight wont help them much at all. They need glasses.
The F-35 needed a shadow on the ground to make it look real....but damn that would be fun to fly...LOL
Weighing down the trailer woulda been a nice touch too. Still solid production from a guntube channel
BRO AINT NO WAY I MISSED THIS, I love Matt and I love Tony! Thanks for the episode guys
They both have pros an cons in my mind, the lighter 1 would help long distance running an swinging targets but the heavy gun is easy to keep on target an land shots in the same place since it helps keep the barrel down from recoil
I'm just glad the f35 thing didn't turn into the movie stealth

Thats a great collab right there! Great tests although I'm tired out just watching all that running! More of the same please, Matt
I think, with experience in both types of sights, Matt you work better with the reflex sights. The reflex will point with your eyeline/angle of attack whereas the holo will maintain the direction of your barrel. You've always said you're an iron sights lover and the reflex will work more like that. I think that gave you a slight advantage over the other guy but that's conjecture.
Matt I have been here since you loaded shot shells with random stuff , we the people demand more of this content. Never knew in a survival situation heavy gassed breathing affects accuracy. I need more of this science!!!
