Yes, Thomas is telling the truth but in his own documentary he said that he didn't like how MJ took over his city of Chicago while the fans were booing him whenever they played in Chicago. He also said the straw that broke the camel back is when, at the time, Aunt and his little nephew came to visit him in Detroit back in the 80's he was wearing a red bulls #23 jersey and he made him take it off. Isaiah in his own words said the rivalry became personal to him after that.

I remember every year, every freaking year, the Bulls would play great, play hard; but in some way, home how, Zeke and Dumars and Laimbeer would be wide open at the three point line....and next thing you know, that 9 point lead the Bulls had, was

Quinn Buckner has said this about the violent assaults by the Pistons- "Ya hated Isaiah but he really didn't do anything." Mix in some resentment from other veterans-- and voila!! You have it...same as in Detroit...pulling strings and getting others to do his evil bidding. Most agree something went on in that All-star game. But, I don´t agree it was just because of MJs, at that time, more than half the team had some sort of issues with Thomas and it was a "management" decision. Bro. . .you're full of crap. Since that game is on youtube right now, you realize anyone can go watch it to see that you're lying?
Thomas almost never passes MJ the ball throughout the entire game (maybe three times in total, not including taking the ball out), but passes to Bird and Dr. J multiple dozens of times. He repeatedly ignores a wide open MJ to force passes into to Dr. J or Bird instead or just jacks up a shot even when MJ's open with a good line to slash to the basket. Bird ignores a wide open MJ no more than 6 feet from him to throw an awkward sloppy lob pass cross-court to a 25% 3pt shooter instead. The only times he is passed the ball before Thomas is subbed out are: Once, into a totally dead, unmoving offense that was clogging every driving lane with zero movement (thank Bird and Dr. J for that one), and once probably purely only by instinct on a trailing fast break play that Thomas didn't have time to think about not passing in. Immediately after Thomas is subbed out, Jordan is passed the ball on the very first play by the new PG and gets a decent opportunity to score for the first time that night. When Jordan comes back in the game, Isiah goes right back to ignoring MJ and in begins to chuck shots any time he can't pass to Bird or Dr. J even when Jordan's open.
As for Jordan "not shooting". . .passing the ball to open teammates instead of chucking is a good thing, not bad. Jordan was trying to make plays for teammates, including getting assists to Bird and Thomas or getting them FTAs. Jordan actually performed well despite having barely anyone work with him on offense. Lots of rebounds including 3 offensive, good defense, lots of steals. Barely got any shot attempts other than ones he gave himself off said offensive rebounds or steals.

Cuz Bird, Stockton, Malone, Ewing, Barkley, Drexler were also didnt want him. Magic was the only one to see Isıah on that team. And Robinson, Laetnerr, Mullin were neutural about the topic.
Bird had beef with Isıah cuz when he won back to back MVP, Isıah said "He won that much cuz he is white" and then he had to apologize him. But Isıah always so disrespectul to Bird's legacy.
Malone & Stockton didnt want'em cuz Isıah bad talked about Stockton's point guard skills and always whine about their dirty plays which is super hypocritic thing to say for Isıah.

Well said. It's mind-boggling to me that people from Michigan and Detroit in particular cannot comprehend what you just outlined so briefly and succinctly. If Pippen and Rodman we're in a restaurant and Rodman ran up from behind, grabbed Scottie so he couldn't get away, body checked him, and slammed him into a wall knocking him to the ground, he would be charged with assault. Michael was enduring this before Pippen and Grant got there. These were the Jordan Rules and felonious assault was part of the deal. We are going to beat you and beat you up...and hopefully end your career. I just watched Game 4 again and Sun's coach Cotton Fitzsimmons is on commentary... they split with the Bulls that year and in his words...the Pistons beat them and beat them up. His hatred of the Pistons was evident and he struggled to be neutral. It was not just the Bulls...it was EVERYBODY. And so, the only conclusion I can come to logically speaking for any type of legit Pistons perspective is that, they took Jordan's moniker of "Black Jesus 🖤" literally to heart. After being beaten down and beaten up, indeed feloniously assaulted for years-- in the image of Jesus, Jordan was supposed to passively turn the other cheek and not say anything other than, "Forgive them Father. They know not what they do." You can overcome us but you have to do it in a morally/political correct way, I guess was the Pistons belief. Jordan did not do that. Prior to Game 4...talk about a Babe Ruth moment...he called his shot ON THE ROAD in his personal house of horrors and gave them MASSIVE bulletin board material. I expected a proud group to come out fighting and to be ready to die in their house. You can kill me in my house... defile my body, do gross things to my carcass...curse me and spit on my grave... AFTER I AM DEAD because you are going to have to kill me in my house. But when Michael Jordan said those hurtful words prior to Game 4, it was like when your Daddy goes into his "daddy voice" and you think, "uh oh, Daddy ain't playing." His words alone were enough to intimidate the Pistons and the entire state of Michigan. He walked into their house and instead of making him pay for that insolence, they told him his words were hurtful and that they were not going to battle him anymore. His words were so hurtful that they cried and then they politely pulled down their pants and surrendered that sweet, sexy, Motor City ass eagerly, without hesitation, and then totally surrendered-- walking out of their house without a single word of defiance. As a Bulls fan, I did not enjoy that. It was sad and pitiful to watch. We proved nothing by beating that pathetic crew because Michael's words prior to the sweep were enough to make them QUIT...not even bother to show up or compete in Game 4. So for the Pistons half decade of thuggery and violence and for the Bulls unforgiving, hateful words-- one day, Isaiah and Michael will see each other in hell. They won't be able to avoid each other there. In Hell, EVERYBODY congregates around the water cooler. That will be one helluva 15 minute work break.😂

I am born in Chicago but moved about an hour and a half south to a little dot on the map called Gilman when I was a baby. Not much to do there and so Chicago sports were HUGE to us. Honestly, I cannot believe this shit still gets talked about. Yet, if it must be talked about, I am not surprised that emotions still run hot. Detroit had a run...only two titles but it easily could have been a three-peat. And there style of play fit their personnel. And unfortunately, the Bulls were their patsy until they got some dogs to run with Mike. It still didn't happen over night...but when it came, the floodgates opened. I try to tune most of it out...as Chicago fans, we waited a long time for that moment. And we have to accept that we conquered an evil, hateful opponent that never respected us-- even after we overcame them. Sorry for saying "we" cause I didn't do shit. If Isaiah really wanted to play in Chicago, all he had to do was shake hands...it would have opened the door to the possibility. He could have finished his career with Jordan, redeemed his homecoming, and added another title or two. But he is an evil little man...just as that was an evil dynasty...he preferred denial, hate, immaturity, and pettiness over earned mutual respect, redemption, and titles. There is a reason that Satan resides in hell. HE LIKES IT. "It is better to rule in Hell than to serve in Heaven," and that is exactly what Isaiah did. Michael's hatred of the Pistons-- they tried to kill him and they relished it. The goal was always injury and elimination from contention. They burned his athletic prime and he won no titles. Rodman said it best in talking about the GOAT: "With the beating we gave him (for years)...for him to come out the other side and do what he did...he has to be the GOAT" 🐐 THAT is the thing that NEVER gets talked about...he hung 6 in 8 with 6 finals MVPS...all out of his athletic prime. Who else did that in any team sport? Surely HE is the GOAT 🐐. All alpha males are assholes...no matter what profession or walk of life. So it's not surprising these guys do not and will not ever see eye to eye on anything. Isaiah is even too stupid to be afraid of Michael Jordan-- and he and anybody else for that matter ought to be terrified...for about half a decade Michael endured a WWE style beatdown at the hands of the Pistons-- and we all know WWE is a work. This was real and this cat kept coming, until he conquered, and humiliated his tormenters on their home court and then proceeded to take the ENTIRE LEAGUE to the next level worldwide. All NBA players from his era and those that came after owe Jordan a little bit of gratitude... not just respect. Isaiah never made the dream team... because, while lies have been told... including by Mike himself...BUT it appears Isaiah's own coach did not want him on the team. For the better part if a decade you could count on: Death, Taxes, and a party 🎉 in Grant Park come June. Who was the better player? In their primes, two of the best two-way players ever. • @StevenSmith-zw1pd
      @StevenSmith-zw1pd Před rokem

There was no choice. Jordan's young supporting cast got better and the Pistons no longer could compete. An absolute shellacking on their home court in '91 ECF. It was over. It was a process and it took time. But once the dictator is beheaded, putting him back in power is not an option. Now, in '90 the Pistons eliminated the Bulls in 7 and never came close to winning in Chicago-- this is as close as we get to a "choice." Had the series been officiated differently in '90, the Bulls we're ready to beat them and could have beaten them...and as the Pistons did, the Bulls would have beaten the Lakers, who were aging and
injured in '89. But I do not think the Bulls we're ready to beat the Pistons in '89, as they lost in 6. But let's say for the sake of argument I am wrong and they were ready in '89 as well. Then clearly, the only choice was the league sanctioned thuggery by the bitch boys, I mean bad boys-- a strategy not just to ground the high-flying #1 one player in the world 🌎...but to kill him, cripple him, end his career -- The Jordan Rules. To overcome that in '89 & '90, the Bulls needed a level playing field from the officiating. That was not happening because the thuggery that was the Jordan Rules was league sanctioned. That was the league's choice in '90 and possibly in '89-- but again, I don't believe that the Bulls were ready in '89. In '91, the Pistons were a lamb 🐑 going to slaughter against the Bulls. Due to the previous heartaches and bitter defeats we Bull fans would not have bet it-- but a sweep was all but inevitable. In '90 Detroit didn't come close to winning in Chicago. You know that a playoff series starts when a home team loses. Again, Detroit was not winning in Chicago-- so the first game they played in Detroit was in effect for the series. They lost badly...they knew they would never win in Chicago again because the shoe was on the other foot...THEY were no longer good enough and the hatred, vitriol, and violence they had sown was about to be reaped. A comeback from 2-0 was an utter impossibility. And once it was 3-0, they quit because the sweep was inevitable. They were never gonna win more than one game against the Bulls in '91 and in Game 4 they decided they wouldn't even try. They decided to fight and try to injure, and end careers-- and when that did not happen in Game 3, they quit and got chased out of their own building in Game 4...I mean they ran out of there like scared turtles. After that...watching them QUIT, I am sure there was no Bulls' interest in teaming up with any of the bitch boys, I mean bad boys in the future. But Rodman went down to San Antonio and redeemed himself for quitting in Detroit-- the Bulls peeped it, brought him in and a second three-peat was born. There was no choice. The Bulls got better and the Pussies, I mean Pistons, QUIT. Isaiah nuts all over himself at night thinking about his 49-16 career record over Jordan. What was his record against Jordan after the '91 ECF?
If Jordan only won 16 times against Isaiah, he must have finished on a 16-0 run.

@@mongoslade277 YOU ARE WRONG. The Celtics crashed their free throw line as shots were about to be taken and offered hand slaps, and said "Beat LA.". And then left the court to give them their moment unfettered, so nobody could say, "Aww poor Celtics." It was done the right way...there was class, goodwill, and sportsmanship. A legendary group had reached the end of the road and they walked out with their heads held high. Go watch it. NOT THE CASE IN THE PALACE. The Pistons have said many things, including that they wanted to duplicate what the Celtics gave them...an unfettered moment. But they botched it HORRIBLY. I just watched it again last night...Yes, I am a Bulls fan-- but it was not as egregious as I and many have thought it to be. They were bitch boys, I mean bad boys so it's not surprising they botched it. But if you look, there was some settling. Salley stayed and shook hands...the Pistons that were on the floor at the final horn did fine post-game exchange. If that core group that wanted Michael Jordan dead, and would later rejoice when his father was murdered wanted to walk off-- that was fine AND TO BE EXPECTED. The hatred ran deep and still does. All these years later, I am amazed this still gets talked about and how far off the mark much of the commentary is. It comes down to a single moment-- and you know what it is...that turn, dip, and duck as he hid from Michael's view and avoided the Bulls as he left the arena...chased from his own house...exit with no dignity. I do not know how he explains such a cowardly, weak, and undignified moment to his children... especially his sons if he has any. That type of low character behavior is what the world believes to be the true character of a black man. We have to defeat that notion every chance we get and certainly on a platform as big as that one was. I would rather him have flipped Michael off, or even talked shit on the way out...but he hid and ran away. There is no comparison between how the Celtics passed the torch and the Pistons' debacle where they QUIT, RAN AWAY FROM THEIR OWN HOUSE AND HID.

In the end he is the one feeling that hurt that he mentioned. Also they didn’t just avoid shaking hands, they started walking off before the buzzer hit. Watching Isaiah cowl as he passed by the Bulls bench made it clear that he was lame. Speaking of lame. Bill Lameass was the rotten apple that spoiled the batch for the Badboy Pistons. His influence on Thomas and the others was obvious. It’s sad that these guys decided that since they were not good enough for a straight up match against the Bulls, they needed to play dirty to the point of close lining other players. It’s disgusting and they should’ve been dealt with by the league. But instead, they were dealt with by the same team that they were bullying. Once they got their asses handed to them and then walked off the court prematurely, who would want any of those awful people on a team that represents the entire country?!?! Why is it so hard for Isaiah to see this? So what if Jordan said he didn’t want to play on the Olympic team if Isaiah was going to be on it. Most people would’ve said the same thing after what he just went through. It’s ironic that karma struck again when Lameass broke Thomas’s hand practically ending it all for the both of them. Perfect ending for two guys that deserved a painful one.

Go back and watch it and you'll see the BS. 2) Magic is my fav player (then Pip), but on this I'm team Isiah. 3) Jordan has some nerves calling someone else an asshole. Have you heard all the stories about how Jodan was always super disrepectful to people/players? Like Shannon and Skip just mentioned, Jordan is not a nice person and he is lonely and miserable. On the other hand, Isiah Thomas is the absolute best person to listen to when talking about the game. He is also the best natural PG of all time.

Regardless of what had been said remember this ... Isiah Lord Thomas the Third had a 36-29 record vs MJ and a 3-1 series record in the playoffs. Isiah was the true master!

If he’s the master then why does he respond to every little thing while Jordan is sitting at his house watching all of you lose y’all minds over nothing? 🤔🤣🤷🏽‍♂️

Regardless, no one in the whole NBA liked Isiah Thomas and Pistons, period. They played dirty which is why Karl Malone had to give Isaiah Thomas the People's Elbow!

DET didn’t shake hands because the day before MJ said the Pistons were bad champions, bad for the NBA etc. To keep it a buck
