Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. Out of all players in NBA history, only a handful of players have possessed his level of talent and not a single player has matched his competitive fire and will to win (except maybe Kobe). His championship success is also unmatched.
Vince Carter was one of the only players capable of matching Jordan from a talent standpoint, move for move & doing things that not even Jordan did (i.e. jumping over a 7’2” opponent). As a rookie, Vince was dubbed as the “next-Jordan” which came with unrealistic expectations. He was held to a double standard by NBA pundits when compared to other great players and rarely judged according to his own situation. Partly because of that double standard, he was snubbed for All-NBA teams throughout his career. We still see them overlook how great Vince was in his prime and forget how poorly constructed his teams were. He rarely gets credits for the great career he put together because he was always compared to the highest bar. Out of all of the players in the #NBA75, Vince might be the most similar to Jordan in ability and talent, yet he’s the only one that’s not even on the list 🤯

Kobe did the whole MJ package the best with some remixes of his moves from other greats. Vince Carter comes in second. Kawhi has MJ’s midrange game down.

The closest players were Kobe, Vince, D Wade, and Kawhi. Wade had physique and similar unstoppable slashing ability of first 3 peat Jordan. Kobe had overall skill and mental. Vince is probably the closest overall athletically speaking.
