I knew that wouldn't work... sometimes it's worth a try id honestly just replace the crank if it's that boogered up it probably won't hold the rebulid long
I'm rebuilding a pre-owned cat 400 4x4 the piston in mine was broke off, I was thinking of using the nechi brand top end rebuild have you used it in these ATVs and how well do they do? Thanks!!
Awesome video. Thanks this will help me out. I'm trying to rebuild a artic cat 700cc mud pro and would like to know where to find the schematics on the layout of each part that goes back in. Do you know where I can find this information?
Hello, great videos, thanks for your help. I got mine all back together and runs great. Did a complete rebuild engine was brought to me in pieces. Went forward great, put in reverse no problem hard to get back in drive. Did that a few times now stuck in Reverse. Please Help!!!
These seem to have a lot of play in the shift linkage. Have you played around with the adjustment to see if you can find the sweet spot? I had to play around with this one a bit. That's the first thing I would check.
With the Arctic Cat how do you know where to set the cam to keep it from being 180 out. Just rotate until all valves are closed and top dead center? With my Kawasaki there are marks on the flywheel and cam that allows you to sync them.
I've got to swap out engines in my 400. 1, is there a video of the process? 2, would it be possible to "swap" to a more powerful engine such as a 500 or 650 without having to change other things? FYI, i'm a youtube mechanic..
Great job in figuring out where the oil went to begin with. Most people would have figured it was just low on oil and proceeded with the rebuild.
Nothing beats the P5 when it comes to snow plowing ;)
I love that little buddy of yours. He's following in your footsteps and will be wrenching along with you before you know it.
great video excellent work.... good thing you split the case..
Agreed. Not sure I would have actually got all the debris out if I hadn’t!

Have you done any with the Manual Shifter replacing the Flywheels that the magnets come loose inside?

Piece of wood? Why not a steel or aluminum?
Simple, I didn’t have any pieces of steel or aluminum laying around...lol.

Well that’s a good reason. Those things look harder to work on than cars.
Why not mill the head it will be much cheaper than buying a head. Send it to the same place where you are having it board out.
