Secondly it seems possible you could be in FCC mode but still only have 1 channel in 40mhz mode and 3ch in 10/20mhz mode.
The FCC Ham file hack here will open it up to more channels and we believe increase output further but the actual level is not known.
I am investigating this more as I write this.

Afternoon Ian. It,s 20/07/2023. I'm in Devon & I've tried this fcc hack but it doesn't seem to be working for me. My 03 air unit is on software version V01.02.0000 and my V2 goggles are on software version V01.07.0000. The goggles still show, 1 channel on 40Mhz. 3 channels on 20Mhz & 3 channels on 10Mhz. Have the designers found a way of stopping the hack with the s/w updates.? This video of yours is now 7 months old. Thanks for your help. Cheers Andy

received my Avata with Goggles 2 4 days ago, updated to recent firmware and applied the file to sd card that fits in the goggles and rebooted... works perfect first time. @@andymattock397

We could compare an Vista set to 50mbit mode and 1200mw sitting in some distance vs. the new o3 - to see how much the DBs differ.
But I suspect that the power levels will be dynamically raised by DJI (similar to CRSF). So measuring this will not be easy.
On the other hand I think this new tech is just so good that we don't really need to bother much.
Love it that there's still a simple "put a file on a card" hack - instead of something like the dronehacks unlocker...

Great work keep them coming, I won't be buying the 03 as I'm happy with my Goggles V1 and air units/Vistas for a while but may get an Avata and Goggles V2 kit in the future, it is great to follow your channel and get a no BS take on what's new and up and coming, thanks.

this has given me new hope in the dji systems (for now) i just spent a heap of hard earned on going digita only to find the lack if support and compatibility from said company. any progress on the INAV compatibility ? I had to come back to betaflight to get my telemetry back. Luck BF 4.4 has improved the RTH function ...Whats a long range system if you can't provide a decent and safe navigational system.

Great stuff as always, what about the FCC hack for the vista and older air units? Is there a work around for the goggles 2 like there is for the V1 and V2?

Would be interested in what the range will be with the hack. Would like to see if the system has a hard limit , similar to the 13.2km limit we saw with the dji fpv system with 1200mw and 50 mbits...

When the extra channels are available, do you have to select one of the extra channels for increased output power or is channel 1 with the ham-file hack stronger than channel 1 in normal mode?
This is great video sir. I do have a question, so after doing this what is the correct setting that I should leave it on, 20 or 40 mhz.
Do you know the frequencies of the O3 Air Unit? I was under the impression that channel 1 on the Vista unit at 50 Mbps and channel 3 of the o3 Air unit at 20mHz would be able to fly together, but I was getting significant blocky break up, as was the other pilot.
When we switched the Vista to channel 2 (50mb) and O3 to channel 1 at 20mHz, there was no interference at all!
I thought the latter situation would be in the same frequency space.
Any insight you have is much appreciated.

I have problems to fly with my new dji googles 2 and caddx vist or air unit over 25mW.
Does the FCC hack also support this kind of combination.
Which file I have to put on the caddx or on the air unit.
(The naco power file and the ham file I already tried with no luck)
I am running the latest firmware on all products.
With the 03 system I haven´t any problems running it over 25mW.

Do in the USA purchased googles 2 and O3 air unit still need this FCC hack as well? I am asking because I only see one available channel in 40MHz mode. Have the newest firmware on both devices.

HAM file does work also for mini 3 (pro). I tested penetration on the avata and mini 3, and they are the same--> hence it works, however mini 3 is limited to 120m height. 500m not permitted with flying with RC2.
something strange happened today, I was able to select 500m on the goggles while flying with the mini 3 pro and motioncontroller 2, but an hour later the options above 120m were gone. did you have any luck flying 500m with the mini 3?

Question. Let's say I still want to use my goggles to record video instead of the air unit. Does every SD card I use have to have the file on it to utilize the FCC hack? If I format my card I also have to copy the file again? It doesn't get written to some non-volatile memory in the goggles so it never goes away?

I can’t remember what channel I heard this on (it was more of a photographers channel) but they claimed the output was up to 2 watts.
Does the Ham File need to be on BOTH the goggles card and the Integra/o3 air unit card? Thank you -- have joined your Patreon because of your excellent content and interactions with FPV pilots like me.
Only on goggles. Once it’s unlocked you don’t need to keep it on the card either. It will only stop if you update FW or reset the goggles.

Love your work. I am wanting to do this FCC Hack to my DJI Avata but since the 8th December update. I can't go into Transmissions -> Channel Mode and edit the Channel mode. So in this video, you can click on Channel Mode and go into Manual. With the new update, it does not allow me to change Channel mode at all. Any ideas please?

Didn’t work the first few times i tried but the file name did not match the one in the video. So i went to the rotor riot webbsite and downloaded it from Google drive and it had the right name and worked lika a charm.
I have a uestion, i use my V2 goggles for O3 and for the Caddx Nebula pro, my goggles has the old hack with a similar text file called "NACO", if i use this new text file i will loose the 1200mW for the Caddx Nebula?

No its not
This doesn't work on my goggle 2. A DJI tech told me I need to connect them to the fly app. The goggles then get the location from the fly app and switches then to FCC mode if I am located in a FCC country.

Just got my goggles 2 n i cant seem to unlock following these instructions, firmware on goggles is 01.09.00000 , any ideas? Sd formatted in googles then moves ham files to root of sd card then reset goggles n same. Only have 3 channels on 20 mhz. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Hey great vid thanks for this! I've done this unlock but I'm only getting 4mbs of signal unless I turn off auto cooling? Is there a way to have auto cooling on so that when I power on my air unit doesn't fry while waiting for gps satellites?
