More About "Home In Time":
As Kate and Felix prepare their home for Christmas, an obnoxious stranger barges in. He is Older Felix from twenty-six years in the future. He has travelled back in time to witness the last happy moment they ever had. More family arrive. Hilarity ensues. As does eggnog, future drugs, dancing, and hot make-outs. The time travel technicians detect a concerning anomaly that may prevent them from returning. Another time tourist arrives at the party! It's Felix's adult daughter, with her own Time Team in tow. No love lost, hey verbally spar, then make a delicate peace, as the time nerds try to sort out a way back.

Merry Christmas, ding-dongs.
Enjoy my x-mas time travel comedy full of crappy characters being crappy to each other.
Ask me anything! (Is that how this works?)
I'll go first.
Q: Why did you rip off all your time travel mechanics from Endgame, you lazy hack?
A: 'Home in Time' premiered at the Canadian Film Festival two months before Endgame was released, so clearly those sneaky Russo brothers lifted their ideas from me 🧐.
How much vodka does one need to really appreciate this?
Fuck yeah! Hilarious writing, a cornucopia of emotional beats that all make sense somehow, great special effects, and dubstep. Christmas came early, or late, or early AND late, depending on which one is the primary timeline. Fantastic work!
The ending is awesome
@@hunam3876 It's more of a rummy-eggnog vibe...
@@ruiner_9 Thanks, man. 🖖
I see Cara Gee, I click.
She's the F-ing best.
Previously unknown person to me.
Camina Drummer......
This is the way.
@@kuroiarashi well thats for Mandalorian.
I gotta say, I really love the touching father/daughter stuff at the end. Really nicely paced, acted great, and the silent flashbacks are poignant. ❤
Thank you random CZcams viewer 🖖
I love it when CRAZY is done well. Props for the IMAGINATION and the ability to bring it to fruition.
Thank you 🖖
Yeah! Finally a scifi DUST short, that isn't perpetually, in a dark, shadowy environment!
The best part is how they resolved the paradox issue. No paradoxes here.
RIght?! 🖖
You could create one, because the 2044 crew now knows about 2048 events (assuming both made it home safely).
@@whocares2277- I assumed the 2044 crew couldn't go home because the 2048 crew showed up and split the timeline again, so the 2044 crew became ghosts, too. The narrative just never showed us the timeline where the 2048 crew didn't show up and the 2044 people went home. It kept following unstable branches.
@@racookster That's my assumption too, actually the most logical scenario would be the daughter actually purposefully sought out where her father went on his time travel to meet him there even if she didn't admit it. No reason why she wouldn't be able to time travel like that from the future, there's no paradox.
Love everything about this including the small details like “shiz” and “Jebus”
I've clearly found my people here. Thanks for watching 🖖
This was a million times better written and has more character development than anything I have seen all year. Thanks for giving an old man hope for the future of movies!
High praise! Happy to please. Thanks for watching🖖
This needs to be a series with Cara in the lead. Really like the concept. The series is the business, could have different 'customers' each episode/arc.
Yup. Exactly. And Cara's character is a lead in that.
…or maybe a season 7. 😁
That song at the end is fricken awesome! I want the whole version.
I loved finally seeing Patrick McKenna in something outrageous! Cara Gee was incredible as well.
They had a lot of fun making this. We all did. Thanks for watching 🖖
This is the most entertaining Dust I've seen in all the years I've been watching.
Wow. Thank you. 🖖
That had me entranced.. total surprises throughout. Truly original. Kudos
Thank you. And thanks for watching 🖖
I love Cara Gee 😍😍😍😘❤
Me too! 🖖
same, same
He was hilarious on SG1. He played a nerdy scientist with a crush on Carter and was nervously botching up everything when she came around while trying to impress her. His daydreaming scenes were hilarious. Very underrated physical comedian.
I haven't watched regular t.v. in years, so to get both Patrick McKenna AND Debra McGrath in the same SF short was a real treat - great work, P.H.!
McKenna was responsible for bringing in McGrath. Was the only role I struggled to cast. I asked Pat to recommend someone. Man oh man, did Deb deliver. Perfection!
What a great inventive idea for a short. Well done mate!
Thanks 🖖
I would love to see Cara in more scifi. I loved her in The Expanse.
i would also love tol see her in more of that latex
Such a great short film.
All the actors did an amazing job.
Camina Drummer? Camina Drummer!
Cara Gee, The Expanse and other good stuff, is still looking good at 39!
What a wonderful little tale, and such a nice surprise when Jacqueline Byers turned up to add to an already superb cast.
Thank you. Yes, I was spoiled with quite the fabulous ensemble cast.
I laughed my a** off. Also, very happy to see Patrick Mackenna. I loved him in SG-1.
Cara Gee simply amazing! That amazing cast in the expanse and still she managed to almost steal the show! Drummer is a f'n stellar preformance and a legendary character! Just wow!
This could actually be a sitcom series . . . well done! Cara is definitely a dish in black vinyl, just sayin'.
my #1 pick for my wife to cheat on me with ...
man she was criminally underused in this.
Or _without the vinyl,_ know what I mean?
It took me a minute to realise Future Felix is the dude from Stargate SG-1, one of the "other guys" who was infatuated with Sam and idolised O'neill. Loved those episodes and loved this!
P.McK from the way back machine still keeping his stick on the ice with those classic Red Green moves...
I love all time travel stories with all of the endless possibilities that spurs the creative imagination for the wannabe writer inside of myself.
This is my new favorite Christmas movie! It deserves a sequel!
Thanks! Working on it!
Patrick McKenna! There is life after Red Green. Nice to see him in something not so nerdy.
Pat McKenna = National treasure.
Okay ... was trippin over the entire thing wondering ... stick around for the end, makes it all worth it. Thumbs up for it if for nothing else :o)
Good to see Cara Gee. Missed her since the end of The Expanse.
what exactly is a cara gee
That wasn't the end of The Expanse, just the latest season.
The dialogue was poppin the whole time. Great writing!
“So there’s a company called TimeTours that you can pay to send you to anywhere…”
“And any when!”
“Sick.” 😂 (and on and on…)
Thanks! 🖖
It never ceases to amaze me how well Dust is able to portray such strong meanings in these short films.
Dust is just a channel that collects movies, they do not make the content.
Really fun. Wish we could have seen a lot more of the enigmatic Cara Gee, however.
love this guys... christmas season and this ... what an amazing amalgamation of craziness Dust can bring us...
Glad you dug it. Thanks for watching 🖖
Cara Gee: Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!
Always love seeing Patrick McKenna drop in!
Top 3 sci fi shorts I've seen. Great acting for a short...or even a full length. 🤣😀
Thank you 🖖
That was a surprising amount of fun. Always cathartic to imagine undoing some of one's poorer choices.
This was really good. Needs a longer version. It doesn't really end as much as it just stops. Also, needs 3 groups of time travelers, first the guy, then the wife, then the daughter. Kind of riffs on A Christmas Carol.
Thanks. It's a short version, of a longer script concept. I'm working on a TV series based on the Time Tours travel agency.
@@patrickhagarty_director I hope that happens. I would love to see a time travel anthology series like that.
Before I looked at the cast list I couldn't quite put my finger on Older Felix. "He kind of reminds me of Patrick McKenna."
Came back to watch this again. Most relevant line, "I'd totally go back in time to see who shot Tupac!" "It's not who you think."
3-D printed liver! I love this short! Do more please!!!!
Thanks. I'm working on it! 🖖
Was expecting the same tired time travel tropes, got what I expected, and somehow not what I expected, got some laughs, and loved it.
hey - thanks! glad you enjoyed it. 🖖
This was amazing! Funny, heartwarming, and even a special bonus at the end. 🤓
I'm all about the post credit scenes 🖖
@@patrickhagarty_director Just watched The Golden Ticket on your channel. I predict your career is gonna skyrocket.
@@ZeeGeeSims - there's a tasty post credit scene way at the end of Golden Ticket, too...
@@patrickhagarty_director I missed that! I thought it was just the phone voicemails. Funny!
What an All-star DUST cast...Brilliant!
OMG Cara Gee - Camina Drummer...One of my favourite Expanse Characters...
Im ta nating Belter lowda!
Now that's good sci fi. I hope the guys that made this, make more.
Thanks. I'm working on it! 🖖
Yep. . Had to watch it again just to see Cara. . Man why did they have to end The Expanse!?! She was so marvelous in that!! She needs her own sci Fi show!! Like a new series!! Are you listening Hollywood!!!!!
I really enjoyed this and the whole thing was a very welcome change from the depressing technology is bad crap we've been subjected to over the years. It was fun and light and weirdly relatable. Oh and EVERYONE looked fantastic costume-wise and physical shape-wise!! Nicely done
Right?! Make Sci-Fi fun again! Thanks for watching 🖖
😅 Cara: think about pretending to be solar system security expert if/when the Martian colony gets to 1000 permanent/rotating personnel 😅
I was a bit disappointed that Cara Gee didn’t have a bigger part, but I thoroughly enjoyed this.
When this is picked up for a recurring show, I definitely want to know more about the Skylar / Mom relationship... That may be worth a show by itself.
That made me laugh so hard, and the last scene, priceless.
I have been watching dust at a few years and this one has been the best one I ever saw
Whoa! Jeebus! Thank you 🖖
@@patrickhagarty_director really good please keep at it I would love to see something big budget by you
Time travel is easy. We can't escape it. Time jumps, another matter.
Kept one on the seat of their shorts the whole way thru.
I guess we all fade away eventually, no matter what timeline.
That was a lot of fun. I thought I recognized Kristian Bruun, I didn't recognize Patrick McKenna. Well done, Canada.
I was pretty fortunate to assemble this cast of Toronto all-stars. They killed it. Thanks for watching, eh 🇨🇦🖖
The moral of the story: Time travel doesn't make holiday family gatherings better.
Ha ha. Right?! Nothing does. Thanks for watching 🖖
That was very funny. I expect my family to turn into a-holes as soon as I win the lottery.
Love the unicorn ballerina blade runner homage
I've definitely found the right crowd for my film here. The unicorn ballerina was played begrudgingly by my wife. Thanks for watching 🖖
"Did you cry?" "Nyeoooo." Brilliant
Thanks 🖖
Oh this lady is TOP SHELF SCI FI BEAUTIFUL!!. . .I would watch her in anything!
Debra McGrath?
Absolutely perfect. Well done “rich person with inconsequential time control” attitudes.
Actually kinda felt that last conversation between father and daughter…
Very creative short!
Why, thank you! All the positive response here has honestly been quite the Christmas miracle for me. This film had its festival run cut short by the pandemic, and has laid dormant and unseen until DUST dusted it off and gave it to the world for Christmas. Has it ever found its perfect target audience here. I put a mountain of thought into the concepts and details, and nowhere has it been more understood and enjoyed than here. Thanks for watching 🖖
Loved her role in the Expanse
Not your typical time travel story. That was actually fun!
Right?! Thanks for watching 🖖
This was a lot of fun, and very funny. Christmas Crackers and all that shiz...and beware of budding artists.
What's great: the smattering of future culture we see. Retro devices, future drugs, future music. Minimal but it sold the story!
Thanks. I've clearly come to the right place to have all my detail work appreciated. Cheers. 🖖
I love how he said “if you don’t watch your tone, I’ll come inside of you” like that’s so original and SAVAGE. LMAFO 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Most shorts a one watch deal. I have watched this so many times and keep enjoying. So we’ll done, great characters, script and sound track. Nailed it!
Thanks, man. Glad you love it. All the positive response here makes all the hard work worthwhile. 🖖
That folks was OUTSTANDING!
Thank you 🖖
But muddled!
But absolutely love the idea of time travel creating alternate time lines that disappear when you leave it's the only thing that makes sense.
You clearly had a ball making this and it even had some heart well done.
Fascinating, one of the better ideas revolving around time travel.
Thank you. And thanks for watching 🖖
Christmas with a twist...Pure genus, thank you.
Thanks for watching 🖖
Just for being in this short I hope all these actors get a long, good career in film. ❤️
THAT WAS FFING AWESOME!! I think you broke my brain that was so FUNNY!!
Thank you! Breaking people's brains was my number one goal. Number two - laughs. 🖖
in one word: Brilliant!
Thank you. And thanks for watching🖖
That was a lot of fun!
Thanks... ☝️😎
🖖
Very Creative, And Nicely Done . . . I See That There's A Star Gate SG-1 Alumnist In This Video . . . :-)
It was a fun roller-coaster of a Sci-fi. All too short, there was tonnes of options where this might go. As for the ending, ending the cycle of violence and teaching a kid to love life (having a private word with his father, about his behaviour) would have been my choice, if ever it presented itself.
I want more Cara Gee, Drummer's alive, but I'll take what I can get.
Loved watching this. Great combination of sci-fi, Future dystopia, greed, time travel and humor all rolled up into a nice package. Loved the Soundtrack. Icing on the cake!
Wow! I so thoroughly enjoyed this video. Kudos to the writer, producer & actors. Very impressive.
Why, thank you. And thanks for watching 🖖
Oh shizz! I just went to a party like this next week! 😬
Drummer has my heart. Cara is gorgeous and I love to see her in anything.
Great story. Lots of fun. Great work Patrick and team!!! Amazing to have such character development in just 15mins! Loved the soundtrack. Pity “Frisky Feline” is only 1:04 mins Long. Craig McConnell and Sarah Osborne should re-do this into a full song and release it on one or all of the major streaming sites.
Glad I tried this one...I LOVE time travel stories!
Me too! Thanks for watching 🖖
Finally! Someone who knows physics, that if you travel back in time, it doesn't create an alternate timeline.
Of course, because of physics, time travel isn't possible either...
Ha! A short film with a post-credit scene. Loved it!
Lol @ '...and your bladder control!'
Great, and I do mean Great ! ... premise, story, production, acting, and all else I forgot to mention. So big thanks to Patrick Hagarty and everyone involved ! And to Dust for showing. p.s. Me ? Just an old guy who is not hip - just a great story and I know great when I see it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it. 🖖
the theory of alternate time lines makes my head hurt but as temporal ramblings go this one wasnt bad good to see that guy from the red green show
Pat McKenna = A national treasure. Thanks for watching 🖖
nice to see kristian bruun again! he keeps popping up in stuff i enjoy. its like we have similar tastes!;)
Agreed. He's brilliant. Thanks for watching 🖖
Yup; needed a Whisky for that one....!
Great job, very watchable! Thank you.
This is the second thing I've seen Kristian Bruun and Cara Gee in together.
You talking about Red Rover? I LOVED that film. They were so good in that.
Camina! The queen of the beltaloda!
That was brilliant. I really enjoyed it.
Thank you 🖖
Love me some Cara Gee ! ! ! Bada$$
Unfortunately time lines do not converge and overlap back. They just veer off and continue. Based on John Titor's blogs once you travel through time you can never get back exactly when you left, but you can get close if you have a decent time machine.
What a ride! I the whole thing felt like I was on whatever future stuff was in that punch.
Ha! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. Future drugs are going to be awesome. 🖖
Love the twists
