    Your room needs the gap under the door so the air returns back to the A/C. If not, your room will get hot from not exhausting the heat out/ will also be overpressurized, and your thermostat, which would be located in the hallway/ closest to the return, will not know if your room is hot or not so it will not turn on.

    You still need to keep in mind if doing this will affect the airpressure in the room at all. It's totally effective for cold AC or heated air loss prevention, and keeps mini bugs away

      Just curious how does it help keep bugs away? I struggle with mini bugs and flies

    • @miduk8154
      @miduk8154 Před 2 měsíci

      @greenmusic4787 coz you put it on base of the door. So the little gap between door and floor is eliminated. But still won't stop crawlers trying to get in through the hinges

    I bought these and didn't help dampening my son blasting his music in his room, I even added sound proof foam on his door 🚪. What helped I bought him amp with headphones 🎧.

    The strip at the bottom of the door will restrict air flow, making your central air less efficient.

    Fun fact the gap at the bottom of your door is there for a reason it’s for airflow and actually helps circulation of cold air while your ac unit is either heating or cooling your home

    I install man door seals all the time I wouldn’t say they that the main purpose of them isnt sound proofing but I would say it’s a great solution if your house has an area that isn’t insulated and you want to keep the heat in the other part of your house.
