This is one of the best DIY bike repair stand hacks I've seen yet. Good job! You could use 2 hose clamps to tighten up where the stand holds the seat tube. If that becomes necessary... :-) I hadn't seen threaded pvc tubing before just now, but I'll look for it when I get into town.
I was going to build another youtube-inspired bike stand that involved fabricating a base and a long vertical iron pipe....until i found your video. When I saw your flange installed on a shelf frame, i immediately realized i could exactly the same on my home made workbench. Building today! Thanks for the great video.
Jim...flange height is about 42" high off the floor. This setup has been useful for me to adjust gears, brakes, and chain scrub. Glad you found it helpful!
Thanks, this is just what I was looking for. I used black pipe from a local hardware and the price was < $15 and I have 30 odd screws left over. I kept the PVC cutoff and made a duct tape hinge for it. Using an old inner tube wrapped around the PVC sleeve keeps the bike more secure; at least it makes me feel safer. Thanks for sharing this.
Finally a bike stand within my budget! I had no idea that these PVC snap-on tees existed. I modified the idea a little, screwing the flange to a 2x4 (2' long), and clamping the 2x4 to a corner post on my deck using 2 quick clamps. This gives me an adjustable height stand, and the entire thing can be removed with no signs of ever having been there. Thanks for passing along this great idea!
Great idea- simple, effective! A retractable variant: bore a horizontal hole in the workbench edge for the pipe to slide into (or use a longitudinally bored 2 x 4, etc, fastened underneath the bench so that metal pipe with PVC pipe snap T end can fully retract below bench). To hold it out, drill hole across pipe for a nail or spring pin- similar to the telescopic end of a windsurfing boom.
I think this looks like the best way to do it. I've been looking all around for ideas and plus it's cheap. How high off the floor is your flange? The sooner I get this made the sooner I can lube my chain. It's getting dry looking.
Thanks for the video. Nice Centurion - I got one of those too, don't ride it much now days, usually riding the trails, mine is a Centurion Elite, my first real bike, ca.1980-82.
oh thats awesomely clever, all the stands i've seen so far clamp the top tube and my bike has exposed cables (x3) running along the top of that, nice work
Great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us. I haven't gone through all the comments, but any chance you could put up the BOM with part no's/sku's? I agree - beautiful dog. Love those pitties too!!!
Love it. Much, much better than the £50-60 pound, stands, online. Will definitely, assemble one, immediately. All I want to do is raise the back wheel, and pedals,so they can rotate.
Gy Bx ... I've been using mine alot recently. If you feel like you need more space as you work on a bike simply get a longer pipe. Also found that just putting a cheap 5 gallon bucket under the front wheel us a great way to put the bike in a stable, level position.
Worked great. I needed to make only a few adjustments to the derailleurs. I did not see the snap tee at Home Depot. So, I bought two PVC tees. I cut one to cradle the bike frame and one to secure the bike post. Of the two, the cradle gave me more height and made it easier to work. The bike teetered a bit and I did have to secure the front wheel to the frame with a strap. But, it was inexpensive and worked out great. Thanks for the tip.
Very nice. I have done the same, but added a bessey clamp at the end of the pipe instead of the PVC. With this, I can hold any bikes with uneven shaped tubes/seat posts etc. (carbon)
For a quicker hack, get a sweeping brush with adjustable length handle. Put the pointy end through center of bike just behind pedals, and the top of the brush should just go under the seat enough to hold the bike up (adjust height of brush to suit)
Very good simple and informative video. Easy to go follow. My only question is ( I am Home Depot customer for years ☝️), if that PVC " T" you mentioned from Lowes, came like that( somehow precast and really ready to install it?) , or you had to cut original PVC " T"⁉️
This is pretty clever, thanks for posting. Of course, if you want to work on Both sides of your bike at once, such as rear brake adjustment, you were somewhat out of luck.
I rode my centurion for months, had a wreck riding on a congested trail. (endured neck fusion) Enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets. I had to give up riding this one and gave it to a friend.
I'm going to use your minimal set up, but screw it into wood that I can clamp into my Jawhorse. I like that pvc option. Depending on the situation, you can just unscrew it and attach something else if you want the bike entirely off the floor. Thanks man!
Cool! I have the exact same bike, color and all. I ride it 4k or so miles a year so it's not in as good condition as yours. I do have updated wheels, tires, pedals, and saddle.
you might be able to turn that T sideways and clip the top tube into it to keep the whole bike off the ground. Not sure if that would be too much stress though
I just made one and it works perfect. Got all pieces at Lowes. Brilliant! Thanks.
Total bonus, no cutting, forming or sanding, anywhere! Great vid.
GREAT setup! Simple...strong...inexpensive...and just plain WORKS! Thanks for sharing the idea man!

I just set this up in my workshop! No wiggling like with a traditional bike work stand! Thank you for posting!
Perfect! Simple...why didn't I think of that? I've been using the bike rack attached to my jeep for a work stand...Thanks!
Great Video!! I just went to Lowes (as home depot doesnt carry the pvc piece)and bought the material and it works great!!!
I watched this video yesterday and made it today. Works great.

You deserve a HERO MEDAL for this idea. DAMN CREATIVE. Thanks a lot.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for for my new workshop!!!!

good idea mike!
thanks for the great idea. couldnt find the pvc fitting anywhere, but I had a 3/4" threaded pipe clamp that works fine
This is awesome. Thank you for posting.
The special tee appears to be called a "saddle tee." Thank you for the excellent info! Building one today.
Great idea sir! I'm setting up my bike shop and I'm definitely going to use this idea! Thanks again
Been using this setup for 20 years and just recently purchased a Park Tool PRS-4W-1 wall mount clamp and tig weld that to the end.
Simple and Brilliant!
Great solution - thanks, man!
FYI that pvc fitting is called a "PVC Pipe Snap Tee".
Thank you for that. Wish this name was in the description. ;)
@@JW86SH He mentions in the video he didn't know what it was called, so how would he post it in the description, you weirdo?
Farmer Fpv Calm down pal it’s not that serious. Jesus
Genius man! I'm going to Lowes.
Very quick and simple video. 5 stars! thx
CZcams USERS are awesome! This is quite innovative of you to do this. I will definitely try it in my garaje....
That is a great idea, thanks for sharing !
thanks pal. getting the parts tommorow
Great idea I can't wait to use it! Thanks
Excellent, Simple, Low Cost and easy to make.....

Nice idea!!! The best, easy, cheap:)
Beautiful American Bully! Slick little bike lift, too!
nice simple design. I think I can make this work. Possibly add a hose clamp for added stability when heavy wrenching. Thanks.
Richard Meyer or maybe a Velcro strap around the seat post
YOU, my good man, answered my problem completely. Excellent job. Super informative, cheap and quick. Bravo, ,good on yo mate.
Space Monkey - glad it helped u out! Been using it quite a bit right now as I am overhauling a few bikes. Cheers!
Love it. Much, much better than the £50-60 pound, stands, online. Will definitely, assemble one, immediately. All I want to do is raise the back wheel, and pedals,so they can rotate.
A very helpful idea.
Cool! And LOVE the Dave Scott Centurion! That was my first road bike :)
Thanks for the video!
Awesome job Sir. Thanks for sharing.
In 30 seconds, I clicked forward to see just what you had to offer. looks good.
Bloody alright and smart idea.
Perfect. I'll be making one this week.

YA YOU'RE RIGHT . THE BEST DIY IDEA.
thanks for the video bro. it worked n I love it .

George G Home Depot dosent carry the pvc tee only Lowes carries it.. i found that out today.lol
Thank you for this!
Very nice - thank you for sharing!
Excelent! Thanks man!...
best one yet !
You are so Creative DIY !
Awesome design ! Thumb Up !
Freaking brilliant!
or a 3/4 PVC Tee join - use class 12 or more, excellent video.
Very nice.
I have done the same, but added a bessey clamp at the end of the pipe instead of the PVC. With this, I can hold any bikes with uneven shaped tubes/seat posts etc. (carbon)
Post a photo ,,, to have a better idea. Thanks
This may solve my concerns. My E bike is 70 plus lbs. wasn’t feeling good about the pvc. Thanks
this is just i thinking about... Amazing...
Really cool for a casual rider like me...wonder if it will support my 1973 gas pipe Schwinn??
For a quicker hack, get a sweeping brush with adjustable length handle.
Put the pointy end through center of bike just behind pedals, and the top of the brush should just go under the seat enough to hold the bike up (adjust height of brush to suit)
Thanks for the video J.
Pretty good idea!
wow awesome video, thanks so much, looks like i am off the the hardware store.
thank you my friend. Im in Mexico, but Im sure I can find all that at a tools and parts store. here we call it Ferreteria. Once again, thank you.
Very good simple and informative video. Easy to go follow.
My only question is ( I am Home Depot customer for years ☝️), if that PVC " T" you mentioned from Lowes, came like that( somehow precast and really ready to install it?)
, or you had to cut original PVC " T"⁉️

well done my good man!

Hi J,
Just curious, what kind of bicycle seat is that?
brilliant idea
SOLD!!! I love it ..thx
Super idea, i was search for this kind.
Love it 👍👍👍great idea 👍
Great idea and such an easy build made it in 20 mins and to think I was going to spend 100 bucks on a stand!! 😁
thanks bro 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That's genius!
Darn it this this pretty good 👍🚲🙂 Great job...........
Great ideas. Thanks.
best vid ever
I rode my centurion for months, had a wreck riding on a congested trail. (endured neck fusion) Enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets. I had to give up riding this one and gave it to a friend.
I think I will be looking for that pvc T,,, I wonder if there is a metal one I have a heavy bike.
I did this! Good.
I'm going to use your minimal set up, but screw it into wood that I can clamp into my Jawhorse. I like that pvc option. Depending on the situation, you can just unscrew it and attach something else if you want the bike entirely off the floor. Thanks man!
SImply brilliant...
Thanks
If you type in ''hyper strong bike'' into google, go to images, the first picture reminds me of your video!
A toe strap wrapped around the plastic piece would insure there are no unexpected releases of the bike.
Cool! I have the exact same bike, color and all. I ride it 4k or so miles a year so it's not in as good condition as yours. I do have updated wheels, tires, pedals, and saddle.
Sweet bike !
Great job
Great idea! I went to Lowes and H.D. They both just had regular tee's. Would it be possible to have the upc code so I can look for it online. Thanks!
Item # 188230 at Lowes, I just made a similar adjustable stand a few weeks ago using the same Snap-On Tee
well done thanks
Also, obviously, u can use the pipe under front of seat for bike storage and not rely on the pvc but have it there when needing to
Do repairs
I had that same Centurian. First good road bike..
Great idea, I can see you did not waste your visit to Lowes....well done
Man, Great Job.

Beautiful 🚴🏼
