Methodology
1) I gathered data from youtube, youtube music and spotify.
2) I made the templates to use for each opening with capcut.
3) Audio assets were added with Wondershare Filmora.

@@z23xmann14 it's because the CZcams version that is being counted for the video is the one published by Animelab, not the official from Linked Horizon.
In the video there are some songs that doesn't have official versions on CZcams, that's why they have different views on Yt and Yt Music.
Also in Renai Circulation the CZcams version that is being used for the video is a cover not the official song.
Fun fact, but Idol is the only opening that was able to get 1st place in the Global Billboard. The opening became a phenomenon and showed the true quality of Japanese music, and from this the popularity of Bling-Bang-Bang-Born began. I don’t understand people who trash the opening, because nothing shows the quality of a track like the fact that it is the only recognized masterpiece in the whole world

It's wild to see how high these newer series rank, JJK, Oshi no Ko, Frieren etc with being so new, guess it just shows more and more people watch anime and it being more main stream then ever. Would be interesting to see how much different the rankings would be in a decade.

It was it's own song, it was licensed for Lain. It's about the same as saying that people didn't even know that Nirvana's Come as you are was featured in The Batman. They just don't need to, it wasn't written for it. I as a kid did think that Lain featuring Duvet as it's opening song was huge but I digress.

I just mean that... the fact it's from 1998 limits the recorded data. This was INSANELY popular "back in the day", and even now is regarded as the quintessential "Anime Opening" you see the characters, get a feel for the vibe, there are no spoilers. it's ICONIC. damn near any frame of the opening, someone who's seen it will know what show they're looking at. and the music itself is similarly RECOGNIZABLE.

What is crazy to me, is that quite a lot of those were released back when CZcams and Spotify weren't even a thing. The fact that they still made it to the top 100 is a testament of their quality...

I was especially glad to see #57 No game no life here even though the main video was deleted, too bad modern views ares plit between a bunch of different channels making it hard to add them directly to that 156 million number. Are there other songs here that include deleted youtube video numbers?
for this in particular i found it using waybackmachine so i could get the exact number before it got deleted. Unfortunatly i couldn't get the other ones like "Unravel" deleted at 200M views :(

additionally I'm mildly frustrated my personal favorite "inner universe" from Ghost in the shell SAC is falling just outside the top 100 at a little over 90 million across the most watched versions on youtube, youtube music, and spotify mostly due to being a bit older and having bad spotify numbers. However' its not as screwed as some others like "we are" from one piece, and all the bleach and dragonball songs due to availability on these platforms/age/localization splitting the fanbase.

We Are isn't on spotify, so only the youtube views are counted. Some other One Piece openings aren't on spotify either to my knowledge.
Edit: Never mind it's on spotify but it's very recent, it wasn't one there a couple months ago. We Go is also on there now too, but they have few streams due to them being added not too long ago.
Okay so with some more stuff done I figured out the only We Are version that is on Spotify is the live performance version, not the original. So my bad.
