- Princess Tiana serves up delicious Louisiana favorites, and we’ve been serving you all kinds of news about her new ride.
We celebrated our announcement down in New Orleans with the culture and people who helped to inspire both the film and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. PJ Morton - five-time Grammy Award winner and contributor to the attraction’s soundtrack - and members of the Chase family came together with Princess Tiana and Louis in the heart of Crescent City.
We can’t wait to share this next chapter in Tiana’s story with you! The ride will take guests on a musical adventure picking up after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “The Princess and the Frog.” You’ll join Princess Tiana on an adventure through the bayou as she prepares to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome. Along the way, you will see some familiar faces, make new friends, and travel through the bayou into the next chapter of Tiana’s story. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also feature original music and some familiar tunes from the beloved movie, and so much more … including an incredibly thrilling 50-foot drop!
We can’t wait to have visitors “drop on in” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom on June 28, and later this year at Disneyland Park in California.

With the amount of money they have, it blows me away they couldnt find a more experienced FPV Pilot for better cinimatic shots. I was worried he was going to crash the whole time 😂

Honestly I’m not surprised anymore especially after they opened the trash known as avengers campus. They hyped it up so much and I was so excited until I actually went opening week and realized it was absolute garbage. Web slingers was cheap and lasted about a minute tops (it was all screens not even one animatronic). The Dr strange show was worse than a birthday party magician and had a budget of $5 and a pack of peanuts. And it’s been about 4+ years now and they still haven’t even started construction on the lands e ticket ride that they have been promising us.
*They forgot to mention that virtual queue won't be guaranteed*
Looking forward to walking right on this ride since so many of you “will never ride that ride” or are never going back to Disney World! 🙄

I am so tired of seeing people complain. Splash Mountain was one of my favorite rides of all time, but from what we've seen so far, Tiana looks really promising. The animatronics, the music, the world, etc. I'm super freaking excited for this. I hope they will deliver.

I understand the reason for the change, and there's potential here, but if there's no Facilier and it's all just a silly romp to get salt -- major letdown.

I'm all for criticizing Disney when they mess (and they mess up a lot), but this ride is receiving unreasonable amount of hate. And most of it revolves around Disney being woke for giving Princess and the Frog a ride instead of an old racist movie.

Fantasy springs in Tokyo sea, is a millions time beautifully better, original and MAKE SENSE on keeping the story line !!! giving poor beautiful Tiana sloppy seconds on the cheap ..she deserves something original build from scratch that's related to her story along with a new land with attractions, eatery's etc. Tiana is totally destroyed forever . She's giving a broccoli 🥦 hobby lobby floral warehouse salt mine slave mountain rainforest Cafe sewage system attraction... All them beautiful flowers will fade so quick from the deadly Florida heat ... at night the place looks all haunted creepy abandoned factory's that's going to kidnapped every child that enters. .. terrible ...This is a major sad failure and short live attraction...

Inviting media to preview and talk about attractions is something Walt Disney himself did way back at the beginning of Disneyland. It is a company tradition to use media to help them promote their parks.

Princess and the Frog is my favorite Disney animated movie. I’ve literally seen all of them. And Tiana is my favorite Disney Princess by far. It’s not even close.
It also has my favorite songs of any Disney movie. Randy Newman is a genius and my favorite composer.
And Song of the South was a boring movie. You can find it online for free. It’s not great.
And despite all of that… I still don’t want this. The fact is, Song of the South was never a racist movie and Splash Mountain was never a racist ride. Disney’s pandering has gotten out of control. The same Disney who hides black people from their movie posters in foreign markets wants to destroy a classic ride in an attempt to pander to the black community. Pathetic.

Great... now are you going to ruin the ride for the first few months by having a virtual queue, so only the lucky (and those who pay extra) get a chance to ride? Also can we cut back on the number of Lightning Lane passes you give out, where there is a constant line of people in the "skip the line" lane then you've given out too many passes, not only do you ruin it for those who don't pay extra, but also those who do.
It will definitely be the same as the other rides and have a lightning lane and a virtual queue, but I'm fine with that!

If it's not the wait time, will be 3+ hours. It's not that hard to snag a VQ slot. Just be on the app before 7 and snag a lightning lane if not. It'll be worth it.

@@jonathangriffith5699 Oh yeah I know it'll be massive long waits because there's too many people that absolutely have to be "the first" for things like this, and Disney doesn't want to eat crow after publicly mocking Universal's 11hour waits for Hagrid's.
That said, I miss the days that you got a choice on whether or not a line was too long to stand in. And the fact Disney holds back some of those VQ spots for people willing to pay more... well yeah they can suck a big one for that.

The opening date in Disneyland hasn't been announced yet. My guess is that it will open in September or October.

I don't really understand what was wrong with poor ole Br'er Rabbit. I assume its the Uncle Remus character that triggered this change even though I don't recall seeing him anywhere in Splash Mountain. Songs of the South is a favorite childhood movie for me but I am okay with Disney doing this, it's their park, who am I to judge what they want to show. I will say they sure turned and burned this re-theme. I presume they either had been working on the animatronics for some time before they closed Splash Mountain and likely they used some of the same elements. I look forward to riding it although getting a wet butt in the heat and walking around? NO fun.
because its a story of parabels about the black experience in the south written by a white guy, and used by disney to make a film that made slaves look like they were happy being slaves.. Br'er rabbit was even in the book a stereotype stand in for a black person.

I seriously cannot afford a trip right now but my first WDW trip I missed Splash Mountain before it closed and I love Princess and the Frog so really want to go back and ride this (& Tron wasn’t open so need to ride that too). If only WDW wasn’t so expensive for Canadians.
