    More helpful info. Thanks! Your Tip #1, don't shoot a lot of different slingshots, especially when starting out. Reminds me of the phrase "beware of the man with only one gun!" :)

    For shopting in the basement, I use a drying rack (cheap one) with a large beach towel, thick, draped over the front, and a catch basin at bottom of draped towel to catch the ammo. (Could use a towel on bottom of catch asin to soften the landing for clay ammo). Use a large cardstock paper target and draw bullseye in center, take a few shots with your normal stance/hold, and adjust hold till it starts hitting center more consistently. The reason for the large target is to see where you are missing, and how you need to adjust the hold, then r3al.y concentrate on getting the exact hold everytime. Keep forks straight forwards and backwards, and sideto side- concentrate o. That too, then concentrate on getting a good release- that is very important. Then concentrate of holding the slingshot hand perfectly still with each shot- its amazing how just a little movement e8ght as you shoot Will Throw the shot off. There are several things that you have to b3 conscious of while slinging. After awhile it becomes pretty much muscle memory and auto atic, but u til then, a few variables will likely be throwing the shot off each time

    Excellent advice!!! I'm a long time shooter and I agree with every single point. Having the fork tilted is a common one for me. I make a lot of forks and finding the right grip where it's level can be tricky. I use light bands as you mentioned for this. I can hold my draw easily and make minor adjustments to the fork angle until I find a level and repeatable grip. As you said, a single frame is better. I put my shooting time into the fork I carry with me. There's zero thought required with that one, simply point and shoot. 👍

    Keep your eyes open .depth perception is huge with instive shooting like slingshots , primitive archery , and shot gun shooting. When I started shooting with both my eyes open , my accuracy Improved alot.

    I think some people overlook slingshots as toys. I love marksmanship with all weapons. Keep it up👍

      Well said bro and thanks so much! Far from a toy that’s for sure. I would tell those people let me shoot you in the butt one good time with one. Minds would change 😂😂😂

    I have exactly the same problem and do the same thing myself putting a Steel or lead ball at 25 yds though a coke can with a Homemade Slingshot has a curiously satisfying feel to it Believe you me!!

    • @411Outdoors
      @411Outdoors  Před rokem

      I’m not sure about that kind of grip as actually but if as long as it doesn’t have to leap over another finger it should be ok

    Beien shooting 4 years and cannot disagree with anything said here. The most important thing is practice practice. There is nothing more satisfying than hitting something the size of a quarter from 30 ft away 10 times in a row! When you can do that it is better than any drug you can take.

      The good news is you can be just as accurate with a cheap or diy slingshot as you can one that is expensive
