  • I bit the bullet, took one for the team and purchased the complete National Geographic Map Set. I also tracked down the Half Mike maps and compare them here. While I haven’t had a chance to use either of these on the trail, I’ve used Nat Geo maps before as well as per maps so I can speak mildly educated to each. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. If I was relying on only paper maps I would not take the nat geo maps. However, for my purposes they appear to be what I need as I will generally only need them if my GPS or cell phone isn’t working. I never go out without maps so I think these will be just fine.

My pack weight will be decreasing as I have a few items I am dropping and swapping out.

Jerrymc1975 agreed Jerry! I always take maps with me just in case. Plus I like using paper maps sometimes.

@@joeuhoh3423 I'm Asian, I'm interested in the various maps, can you send me a clear picture of the map that you got for me, I need a reference to make a map of that kind for the mountains where I'm supposed to guide hikers on the trip. And I'm not interested in getting it at the marketplace
