I have my HDMI CEC enabled on my TV but I still can't mess with the volume with the remote

Does this work with a monitor with speakers plugged into it?
The xbox clones your TV remote code, so if there is no controller, it won't, but if the monitor support HDMI CEC that might be the way, look if this is supported on your monitor.
I havent tried it, but would like to have one, but i wish ith ad the app shortcut buttons like the Sony remote, that has CZcams, Netflix, etc buttons.

i believe you have to go to hdmi cec in xbox settings and turn on the setting for your xbox to control tv volume

I just received this thing today and I am surprised how well this works. No firetv needed in fact. It is faster than firetv and has apps like onedrive to play my own videos. I wonder why I did not do media streaming like this before already. What a shame.

I got mine yesterday. Anybody know a way to adjust the time the buttons are lit up or can it even be done? 2 seconds is way too short. I'm on XSX.

Does it have a IR or is it usb?
For my understanding, It sends signal though BT. It doesn’t come with a USB adapter, it works without one. Hope this helps 😃👍🏽

Volume Up and Down.... mine isn't working 😕 It's powers on and off just fine and is linked to my Google home. The features I'm doing without is the Volume and Channels
you need to have the setting on in the Xbox that allows the xbox to power on the TV , adjust volume, etc
@@Negitivaty mine is on still doesnt work its called HDMI-CEC I believe. amazon fire tv 4k hdmi cec works fine on my tv too. i blame microsoft, as i have an official media remote from microsoft also

@@lisongagne3649 the remote on the Xbox is decent... I don't use it that much anymore because my Series X is in the cabinet of my entertainment center and it needs a IR extender. But I can't find a soild IR extender or blaster for the Series X/S
I bought this one to control Kodi on Xbox series x but it is really useless. The xbox keys on the remote controller not same with game controllers keys. Not ergonomic for example the feeling of key pressing is not comfortable (too hard) even sometimes it does not detect the key pressing and lights turning on for backlits for only 2-3 seconds which is too short. The navigation pad is bad. I am looking for an another solution.

Whatever you're using to play volume from, like your TV or receiver, you'll need to enable CEC control on that and in the Xbox settings.
Cec is not working
Not every tv supports cec volume. Especially older models only support cec power off and on
