Thanks for the high quality recording of this show from the Annual Jazz event in Sant Andrue. Joan always surprises-this time with a 1956 pop tune from Fats Domino, "I'm Walkin". The students are all highly skilled vets of the project with at least 10 years each in SAJB and they delivered a great show for the audience. I wish I could have been there for this and other events during Jazzing. PS, the old guys were great, too.

Not taking anything away from the beauty of this concert or their proficiency as "juvenile veterans", the number 10 is a wee bit exaggerated for most of them.
Alba + Alba have indeed been around since 2009(!), but the others have a tad less time under their belt. Elsa "Garapata" (famous "Undecided") and Joan began in 2011, Elia and Marcal in 2012. For Joana, I believe it was 2016 when she joined.
10:25 emerging from the theme of the song, I'm enjoying a rare(?) alto solo by Joana!
In some ways Joana has a special voice and style.that could carry her a long way in the jazz world. Her singing on "Walking" is quite memorable, along with the third track. She sounds totally professional. I'm immensely impressed, Joana - and I've been listening to jazz for 65 years.
Superb, great performance. This group is ready to travel. Joana smooth as silk.

No se me quita de la cabeza que esta chica puede ser la nueva Norah Jones. Cambiando el piano por el saxo, claro. Además de chiflarse por todo lo que venga de EEUU, ya sea Jazz, Góspel, Folk, Country o Stevie Wonder, yo qué sé, es que lo canta con un estilo, una voz y un gusto absolutamente sensacionales. Escuchándola cierro los ojos y me la imagino perfectamente tanto en el escenario del Blue Note de Nueva York interpretando estándares de jazz como en un bareto de Nashville emocionando a los paisanos con el más puro country. Y recorriendo el mundo actuando en todos los clubs icónicos a nivel planetario, claro.
No sé si Joana y Sánder estarán por la labor, pero como poder, vaya si podrían ... 😉

No, Elsa no canta. Su hermana Alba tiene el talento muy repartido y variado, pero la buena de Elsa sólo es feliz tocando la trompeta. De hecho el maestro Chamorro, como hacía con todas las niñas de la banda, la probó un par de veces, pero quedó claro que aquello nunca iba a funcionar 😉:
