I'll never figure out how Otani didn't win the MVP last year. Judge had an amazing season and beat the non-steroid HR record by one, but Ohtani was TOP FOUR in HRs, Wins, SOs and ERA. Simply unprecedented and leagues beyond what anyone has ever achieved in MLB. That would be amazing even in little league.
Absolute travesty.
They just don’t want give the trophy to him every year, unless he moves to NY
it will be like that every year...Im a Cleveland fan, I can happily say I would love to see Ohtani win it each year, just give JRam one though lol
Writers are clowns and disingenuous that it's not Ohtani's to lose every year. What we are seeing is the 1% of the 1% best players in any sport.
Under Biden political world. Also Otani does not mind about it, he loves play in America now.
There was one other guy that could crush the ball and pitch but The Babe played along time ago
This is what greatness looks like. Once in a lifetime type of player.
*Yes, but can he juggle*
@@kevinqn3221 You know, I wouldn't bet against him being able to juggle tbh 🤣🤣
oh and did you know he was 14th in HRs last year?
@@kevinqn3221 He can be a master class in anything with a little practice and is now a zipper master.
Once in a century worldwide.
I haven’t watched baseball since the 90s. This guy makes me watch it. Every time he plays.
Remember, he has been playing non stop for 7 days after flying cost-to-coast and last Boston game early morning in the rain when he was drenched!! He asked to go back to dugout but wasn’t allowed and freezing (40 degrees in rain) then play next day in New York then flying three hours time difference to punch out 11 and no runs in Anaheim…no days off!! He is a superhuman ‼️
The most impressive part is him pitching in 4 days after his last start
His paychecks will definitely get a whole lot fatter by 2 sizes when his contract is up lmao
Also he is guaranteed to hit the ball (fouls or flyout) at least once within every game. There were missed homeruns but the fact that he can make almost guarantee a contact hit in every game and hit at least 300+ ft on a flyout is pretty good. Seeing other players miss the ball (no fouls, no flyout), literally can't even make contact against his pitch is another level.
I don't watch baseball, especially during basketball playoffs. But the minute I see a Shohei highlight notification, I jump on the video like the Flash.
And yet there are still people who thinks he's overrated. He's the only reason I even bother to watch baseball highlights.
yeah, I agree like how can you overrate someone who is the first of his kind, no one is even doing what he is doing. He is setting the standard for himself. Those people are just blind haters that think their opinions are valued.
@@rhylegonzaga they aren’t blind at all. They are keenly aware of what makes him different is also what makes them hate him 😬
People think he's overrated because they expect him to be hitting home runs like Judge, yet he's hitting over 30 HR a year and has the lowest ERA as a pitcher in MLB. He's the GOAT and lands a hit in almost every game.
😂😂😂 Overrated?
After watching a lot of videos, and read a lot of comments, you are the only one mentioning it.😂
@@MrElpajita you haven’t read enough comments. Ohtani is so good the haters are out everywhere in full force. There’s about 1 overrated comment about him for every 5 good ones. People who haven’t seen him play are tired of seeing or hearing about him constantly. Just the way it is
Incredible! . His baseball IQ is extremely high and scary thing is he still keeps upgrading his performance. I am so privileged to be able to see his performance in real time.
Thank God! I'm so lucky to live in an era with Michael Jordan and SHOHEI OHTANI!

This humble human being is the face of MLB
The bad thing about this is that there are still people who doubt, Ohtani is the best we will see in a long time. we have to give thanks for being able to see this now
The universe is smiling on this amazing young man for all his hardwork and natural talent
I don't play/know much about baseball but I watch Shohei. That should tell you how impactful he is.
As a mariners fan. I’m so happy to say I’ve got to see this man play in person.
Shohei has been living in US already for few years and visited NY (stadiums) over few dozen times, but, he says, HE HAS NEVER walked around in/around any bit of the city... What the talent, self-discipline, effort and seriousness towards playing only Baseball! Incredible.
thank god, compared to tokyo NY is a 5th world country. he should visit some nicer places in the US
It's not that he doesn't want to tour around the city.... It's just that he wants to prioritize baseball over anything.
He should come see San Diego
@SonicCollectionsPs2Noises Shohei is famous of building great human relationships everywhere he goes and everybody he associates with. Shohei jokes, plays, and laughs along with his international teammates, coaches, and staffs every day as well as his opponents. Shohei even talks friendly, always smiles and greets to the umpires while also responds to both sides of fans all the time. Of course, many of those people are Americans. Shohei didn't go out of the stadiums (not only Yankees but other visiting stadiums too) because he wanted to concentrate fully on baseball. In addition, Shohei is too famous especially for last few years, too many fans would follow him and he might get squashed by the crowd and media which Shohei always faced in Japan since his high school years (hundreds and thousands of people would gathered around him if they found him at the street). Did you see the huge crowd waited right next to the Angels bus in Ohtani shirt or carried Ohtani board for just having a glance of Shohei outside of Fenway park after the game? Shohei would definitely worry for any injury of people and traffic jams might cost if he walked in the streets of NY. (P.S. Shohei couldn't go anywhere freely in Japan for years since he became the super baseball star since high school. This year the police and transportation securities needed to guard Shohei from thousands fans and 200+ media when he arrived at airports and train stations in Japan during WBC).

11 Strikeouts, 27 points, 15 rebounds, guy hits another triple double, and even a hat trick, all in one game. Guy does it all. He even stayed up all night and beat RE4 in less 4 hours without using any saves.

I won't be surprise if he win 2023 AL MVP and CY Young. We witnessing greatness just absolutely speechless.

Ohtani is good for all of baseball. Even people who hate the Angels love Ohtani.
It's fair. I hate the Dodgers but Freddie Freeman and Mookie are impossible to hate.
Too bad he won't win as an Angel
I know bunch of Yankee fans salty because he rejected them 5 years ago 😂 but judge was implying other day that he wants Ohtani badly

So far he’s once in a SPORT.. who else pitched and hit like that at the same time.. the Babe didn’t even do it at the same time he was a full time pitcher .. this is a true anomaly ..
Royals fan here but I want to say that Ohtani's performance is amazing. One of the best players in MLB.

many people compare Shohei and Judge, but we literally shouldn't do that. Shohei is the unicorn.
He keeps this up, and they’ll need to rename the trophy after him. He really is on a different level.
He was so confident in his pitching that he made it look like a casual walk in the park. What an extraordinary talent!!!
This world is a virtual reality created for Shohei Ohtani.
The two Judge videos from yesterday combined don't even come close to the number of views on today's Ohtani video, even though MLB went to the trouble of putting Ohtani's name in the video title...😅
I did an 11 strikeout show for 44,000 fans. I can do what the fans want
Superstar Shohei is a great player
3:27 Ohtani has gone beyond learning new pitches. He’s now experimenting with mind control or creating illusions that make batters swing at balls that are absolutely nowhere near the strike zone.

I have been a fan of ohtani since his days in Nippon Ham
G.O.A.T🦄🦄🦄He must come from another planet...Planet Ohtani💫
We've got to remember well, Ohtani's done it after a pretty long trip from NY to CA. With temperature plus time difference!

He is the best player in baseball rn and for sure most valuable and unique as an elite 2-way player, but to be considered the best athlete he needs to win some world series or at least get into playoffs. Best mlb player ever
Shohei Ohtani is just incredible. What he is doing is just surreal. The same guy that hit a home run absolutely annihilates another team while on the mound. Guys, if Shohei develops a changeup and can master it....he would be even more unhittable. His fastballs top at 102 mph. Changeups look like fastballs approaching the plate. It's a very nasty pitch if done correctly. Gosh, Shohei, if you develop that, no hitter will stand a chance.
He already has seven distinct pitches, causing hitters to flail at something they don't know is coming. But I too wonder why he hasn't developed a true changeup. However, his curve and his slider serve much like a changeup, each one a change of speeds and different movement. He can throw a 70 mph curve for a strikeout, looping in with 36 inches of downward break.
@@surfwriter8461 I guess Shohei is still developing many more new pitches. In fact, Shohei said he actually started to throw Sweepers in Japan long time ago but the new official MLB baseballs made his sweepers even more effective than ever. I guess Shohei is continuing to invent many more new pitches all the time and he will show them to us when he thinks he needs them and manages them good enough for use like his sinkers. Shohei said there are many patterns of his sweepers and he would keep secrets of his patterns and ways of using them.
Blessings from Taiwan
Congrat to Shotime! 💪🤩👍

Yeah!
1 lifetime probably not enough long...
Ohtani is legend, and his story still continues.
Otra excelente performance del dios del baseball. En Chile también te admiramos Shohei
日本人としてこんなにも光栄なことはないです。
His sweeper is the key. I like how Shohei doesn't rely on heaters. This guy is still improving and that's just beyond imagination. And he calls his own pitches.
He said that he dreams of pitches and pitch scenarios at night… then just does them in the game 🤯
Well, Shohei probably would find some other new toy pitches in the middle of the season 😂, just like he suddenly invented his sinkers in the last few months of the season. Like he suddenly started to throw slow curves in the last few innings (pretty curves like drawing rainbows bridging upon the corners of the batting box). The batters had No data of Shohei's curve balls because he hardly threw them to strike out batters. Yet Shohei all of a sudden gave them many curves while throwing 98 four-seams, cutters, sweepers, and sinkers in between. The batters were totally lost and had no idea of what's coming next😂.
Ohtani the G.O.A.T at his best. I know people complain about the Angels and I totally get it, but let's be real. Ohtani makes this team shine!

もう本当に凄いって言葉では表せられないですね…👏
The deity of baseball.
Amazing, Ohtani this season is 3-0 with a 0.64 ERA(currently the lowest ERA in the majors) and 38 Ks, and remember Shohei has allowed only 2 or less runs in 12 straight starts, he last allowed more than two runs in a start back on Aug. 21, 2022, against the Detroit Tigers.
That Tigers start he was ill.
Shohei had a miserable stomach ache and terrible throwing up that August morning before his start. Shohei actually could hardly stand at the mound. At that time, Angels was in losing streak. Even Shohei was terribly sick, Angels had no better trusted pitcher than a physical weak Shohei😭. So Angels still made Shohei pitched for 4 innings and Shohei still answered to US & Japanese reporters' questions regularly after the start even two huge dark shadows were under his eyes like a Giant Panda🐼.
More than MVP
That 71 mph curve ball man, it's beautiful.
I love his curveball, I think it’s underrated and he can use it more often, but he does have many other weapons too
