Fun fact, since Maggie mentioned the producer: the producer for "Beat It" and indeed the entire "Thriller" album, was the legendary Quincy Jones, who worked with Michael on several albums during this period, including (I believe) "Off the Wall", and the follow-up to "Thriller", which was "Bad". Those three albums were arguably the most popular and the most commercially successful of Michael's career.

I've never actually heard it explained how Eddie Van Halen rearranged the song. The guitar solo itself is pretty much done over a verse section, so it makes me wonder if he suggested to Lukather to have that "Beat It" background singing breakdown over E to lead into the solo section. A lot of VH music has that quality, a breakdown section after a chorus to lead into the guitar solo, with the breakdown or the solo sometimes even being in the relative minor key to the song's major key.

The stunning thing is Eddie did the solo for free....and got no writing credit for the song.....Eddie just basically did the solo and went.....there you go Michael...became a contention with the other members of Van Halen.

Eddie did this while the band was away. They agreed to not go outside the band to creat music. Eddie figured a young black artists was cutting a record. Who wud know that he helped. Eddie figured wrong.

Please react to the title track off of *Jung Kook’s debut album* . Much of the song is an *homage to Michael Jackson* . The song is *“Standing Next to You”* . There is also a *remix with Usher* , but I hope you will react to the original. Usher will include the remix on his upcoming album. His album has broken records and his pre-released song, “Seven” broke the record for fastest song to get 1 Billion streams on Spotify. (108 days, I believe)
I watch your reaction to “Left to Right” and you mentioned Charlie Puth’s perfect pitch. Jung Kook also has perfect pitch. Charlie Puth said he is one of two or three singers who sent him
Perfect vocals before. One was James Taylor and I can’t remember the other one. Just a little trivia.
