- Part of our epic europe motorcycle roadtrip in summer of 2015. Kinda forgot how much I love Switzerland! Why it needed me to tour the country on a motorcycle to remind me...who knows. We were in the Swiss Alps on our motorbikes for no more than 10 hours but all the nostalgia of my childhood summers there came flooding back. From swimming in the fresh fast flowing Rhine to sliding down lush green Alpine slopes on paper bags.
My original aim was to ride the Grimsel, Furka and Susten passes but only managed the first two...you know Finn Standard Time gets in the way of leaving at silly o'clock in the morning. Andi kindly played our Swiss ambassador when we arrived at the Ace Cafe in Lucerne, then took us on a night ride up to Zurich. Can't wait to go back next year for a proper Swiss motorbike trip.
The Superduke was perfect on those tight twisty hairpins, powering out of corners with all that v-twin torque. She felt completely at home on those beautiful alpine mountain roads! Nearly ran out of fuel coming down the Furka pass but that all adds to the adventure.

Thanks man :) We had FIVE days of rain on the trip lol I just used the footage from the dry days. This year we only had 2 hours over 15 days, guess we'll pay for that next year xD
You will, for sure..lol. I had one full day of rain in 19.... end of July & up to middle of August, but yup... it was on the way back through Switzerland... for the ist time in my life...riding the furka, grimsel, susten & nufenen at 06;50 through till 09:27 solo before breakfast was biking Nirvana for me... clear dry & mega-awesome...

Awesome video man. Love the Alps. I used to live in Germany (Frankfurt) and we traveled around Germany, Austria, Switzerland, northern Italy and France a fair amount. My favorite was always the mountains (but Portofino, Italy was awesome too). A buddy and I did a week-long bike tour around Austria and northern Italy nearly 2 years ago, and this video brings back the memories of that trip very vividly. Brings back the wonderlust feeling...I need to get back over there for another ride...
Yeah, makes it so much easier when you're already onthe contienent. It's a whole day from London to get to any exciting roads in Europe! Get back out there man :)

Oh Finn. Damn you; this makes my heart ache. I lived in Adelboden last year for a bit of time and completely fell in love. I'm bordering on desperate to be back out there but it's not happening at the minute. Take me with you next time, please!
LOL Switzerland is too good for riding! No where else has views like they do and were you were seems to be slap bang in the middle of the mountains. At this rate I'll be taking half of CZcams to Europe next year ;)

fantastic job, again! Please tell me you've got enough footage to do these with all the countries you've been to, yes? :D I can also very much relate to your "coming back home" feeling. I spent a lot of time in the summer in Alto Adige/Trentino when I was a kid. Especially in the area where my granddad was from. I've been staring out of the windows of our Mitsubishi van and was more than fascinated with all the cool-ass bikers overtaking us. Ever since I was 7 or 8 years old I wanted to become a biker myself. In 2011 I rode my bike down there for the first time. When I was on an iconic bit of road I especially remembered from my childhood days I had tears in my eyes :,) Best bike moment I've had so far

Maaaaan! You can't ask that...I only just popped my cherry with three of them Gotthard, Grimsel & Furka :'( I wanted to also do Julier, Susten, Splügen, Nufegen...well you know all of them but no time! I'm going to OD on Swiss passes next summer and then pass out from euphoria on an Alp xD

The "Super" Duke is irrelevant. You could have the same quality of trip on a 1000 euro 125 scooter, a horse drawn wagon, or a bicycle. It is the landscape that matters, not the method of transport. Nice images. Thank you.

Sound track not relevant to the roads. Could have been riding any bike not even a motorbike. Wasted opportunity to record this trip on a KTM SDR. And too much use of speeded up time lapse really annoying. There are much better motorcycle road trip videos. Art over function.
There are plenty of other videos to watch on CZcams, no one is forcing you to watch mine. Or better yet, go and do your own trip and show me how it should be done!
