With Rey I found playing on curve and using her abilty at the end to turn late game yoda, restored arcs, red three into threats worked better for me. As for upgrade hate every time Ive had fang fighter I wished it was confiscate lol.
I'm super pumped for Qi'ra, can't wait to get some games in. I was a little surprised not to see the other flavors of Han2, but otherwise, great breakdown
Glad you still believe in Chirrut. I think i'll might glow up with set 3 with more force related cards. And can't wait to try Bossk. Seems fun and pretty cheap deck if replacing kylo's tie by the colorless 3/2 ship
I most hyped for cad bane green or red. Either seem really good. But green is what I’m building right now to take advantage of Maul and Overwhelming Barrage. Love Banes ping ability and the amount of underworld cards we have access to is great.
I haven't looked for a Qi'Ra list to try out still, but I'm still playing good old Krennic with updates from the new set. What I imagine I won't like in Qi'Ra compared to Krennic is how his passive ability makes it easier to keep Initiative more often and be more proactive, I really like that about the deck.
I played in my first weekly since the set came out and my first matchup was against Boba cunning. I got absolutely ran through. And basically the only major upgrade he made to the standard deck was A New Adventure, which it’s disgusting. First game used it on Bossk twice, which was gross. And the second game he used it on Firespray to do 10 damage and finish the game off. Boba cunning seems to be the best deck by far right now.
I play Krennic Green, but I really want to play Gar Saxon Red so I bought the cards I was missing. Neither is the greatest but I just want to have some fun. Both decks have a similar playstyle with similar leader abilities and fighting for board presence. Pulling a darksaber and krayt dragon during the prerelease also helped make my decision.
@@iamwooooo Thanks! My leader pulls we’re really bad during the event so I ended up playing Gideon Red to use both the darksaber and krayt dragon with al the green and red units I pulled. Got third place so it must’ve worked.
I think Luke Yellow might have some legs. It can lean heavier into force synergy if it wants but having 4 cost qira, regional governer, and spark while also having good protection for them. And luke kills people fast with his lightsaber. The card is pretty crazy still
I think we can all agree that Set 2 leaders will have very little impact on the meta. Less than a handful of them will see play and the few that will are just slightly different twist on existing leader (Qira vs krennic, Rey vs luke/chirrut, Sabine vs Han)
Yeah, it's true that most don't look like they will crack the top tier. You do mention most of the one's that could, although I don't think Han 2 should be built to try to be as fast as Sabine.
I am clearly inclined to wacky stuff. No tempo Jabba (yellow)? Some Bounty Hunters get really over the curve with him granting Bounties to enemies for free, getting A TON of use out of his ability without even cashing in the bounty. No Hondo? Not sure about the colors, but he does compensate the tempo loss of some good Smuggle cards, and that means a lot of flexibility in plays while sacrificing little advantages.
I haven't yet been able to make something very competitive with those leaders, nor do I expect them to be very prominent at events at this time. That's why I didn't include them in this breakdown. There's always room for things to evolve though.
@@iamwooooo I find it very cool in SWU that the meta seems to REALLY vary from region to region (even from store to store in big cities as Madrid!). I do expect Jabba to appear in my regional competitions. Not Hondo, probably, but I'll still try to get something going with him.
I expect Kylo _____ to be a contendor in the meta. Red or Yellow aggro both seem very strong, but I'm really enjoying my Kylo Green Reanimator list so far.
Great video! Exactly what I needed before a big tournament this weekend. I plan to bring Sabine Green but I am torn between two versions: traditional rebel package with Poe, Wrecker, Timely Intervention and no Darksaber, and a Darksaber focused version with Poe, Wrecker, Timely Intervention, less rebels, and Mandalorians such as Peacekeeper. Which do you think is stronger? Thanks!
Meta for me will be upgraded set 1 decks (boba etc) upgraded set 1 decks that are more viable like force vader, iden and Han. There will be a sabine drop off since she got expensive. Set 2 we will see a huge influx of tarkin purely because it's the new competitive budget deck and everyone likes cheap. I've tried Tarkin and it sucks against waylay and control, so it wont last long.
If only Bazine or Bohdi Rook in a double yellow Boba which one to take, leaning Bazine bacause of Underworld keyword 🤔 like yellow because the units have the tools
So I built Far Saxon/Cunning with a ton of cheap shielded guys in those colors plus higher end ambushers with Blasters and Jetpacks to smuggle out late game. Testings been good so far but any thoughts on possible viability? Turn 1 4/3 shielded Evazan feels great though lol
That would be my favorite take on Gar too, but as is the case with most you villain brews, it always feels worse to me than just building Boba. But I don't think it's a bad deck.
@@iamwooooo Gotcha. Yeah I was thinking of building Qi’ra, new Han or Vader. So I may just tweak Luke and then build the others as more competitive options
How good do you think vader green is in set 2?Any recommendations for a Vader green deck?Krayt dragon is good but from what ive tried he's still bad against aggro.
It frustrates me that the majority of competitive decks are all villain. I definitely prefer playing hero, but I don't want to be stuck with basically just Sabine as the true competitive option. I won a store showdown with Chirrut Red, but only after beating two Krennic Greens in the top 4 and final. I don't think i could do that again now that Rival's Fall is a card
With Rey I found playing on curve and using her abilty at the end to turn late game yoda, restored arcs, red three into threats worked better for me. As for upgrade hate every time Ive had fang fighter I wished it was confiscate lol.
Yeah, that works for sure. It often costs initiative which can be a problem.
I'm super pumped for Qi'ra, can't wait to get some games in. I was a little surprised not to see the other flavors of Han2, but otherwise, great breakdown
Appreciate it! The other Han's felt like they were missing something, but there's potential there.
I’m with you Qi’ra. Deck ready for locals on Saturday. She’s so much fun!
Enjoyed the video, great insight. 👍🏻
Thanks you!
I am excited for Qi’ra as well. Haven’t pulled any Snokes yet. I am excited to update my double blue control deck. 😊
Good luck getting them!
Great video. Really enjoy your insights. I want to figure out Qi’ra as well!
Thank you!

Krennic definitely has some play to him!
Looking forward to seeing your take in Qi'ra. In my testing so far, I've been preferring Iden for Blue/Green Villainy so far.
It's in the works.
Young Han Green not mentioned. I think people will be playing that for sure.
You may be right!

New Han ramp deck with the Dragon looks so powerful
Yeah, it's true that most don't look like they will crack the top tier. You do mention most of the one's that could, although I don't think Han 2 should be built to try to be as fast as Sabine.
@@iamwoooooagrees, Han 2 is better as a midrange ramp to killers than a Sabine aggro style
I don’t think Han compares to Sabine at all. He’s more set up to be a strong ramp leader. You get some very, very strong cards out very early.

Some Bounty Hunters get really over the curve with him granting Bounties to enemies for free, getting A TON of use out of his ability without even cashing in the bounty. No Hondo? I can't wait for your Qi'RA approach :)
In due time!

Got a deck list?. I've been tinkering with kylo green
Kylo is pretty cool, he does have a couple options like hyper aggro and the Reanimator you mention.

Thanks! I think I still like rebels, although there's a lot of directions to go. I kind of like darksaber regardless though. It can steal games.

Hi!
Great video!
Greetings fron Colombia 🇨🇴
Is there a link with the lists of these decks?
Thank you! 😁
I don't currently have available lists for all of these, but stay tuned for some more list oriented content.

I'd definitely pack Bodhi, but I'd probably play both!
Great Video Wooo!!!! Pumped about the Qi'ra video!
It'll come!
What do you think is best to be removed for snoke in a blue green villain deck?Reinforcement walker seems too good to be removed.
@@Vader785 I think Snoke is more generically powerful than the walker. Up to you how much top end you want though.

How do you think Luke Green holds up in the new meta?
I like Rose as an add to that deck but it doesn't seem all that popular
@@parkmannate4154 I like Rose in there too. I have updated my Luke and it’s doing really well.
I think it's a step below most of these decks. He's a bit slow and I think hero midrange has better options.
@@iamwooooo Gotcha. Yeah I was thinking of building Qi’ra, new Han or Vader. So I may just tweak Luke and then build the others as more competitive options
Frozen in carbonite has made palp yellow strong against aggro
I can't imagine Palp ever being strong vs aggro but if he is, then he'd be a great choice.
I tested inquisitor and can honestly say it's not ready this set. It's units are so easily removed early and it falls apart. Also chirrut > rey
can Spark of Hope bring back a unit defeated with old man Hans action?
No, unfortunately it cannot. It isn't a unit when it's defeated.
How good do you think vader green is in set 2?Any recommendations for a Vader green deck?Krayt dragon is good but from what ive tried he's still bad against aggro.
I still think he's good and I still think he will struggle vs aggro a lot. You can play around with more ramp (the bounty).
I think there's hope for hero decks!
And don't underestimate Chirrut. I don't think Rival's Fall completely kills that deck.
I think qira is good but I have no idea what that blue green villain should look like at all....
Very adaptable deck! It'll change with the meta.
@iamwooooo there are too many cards I want to run, it ends up being 65 cards
Great video. I you need a better mic
Hah thanks! I ordered one yesterday
Whats with Leia Red? Still playable?
I think she didn't get any meaningful upgrades this set so I'm lower on her.
@@iamwooooo Y Wing is nice, I would feel 175, maybe 095, Rieekan is nice, 104, want to Look if 130, Cassian with 3/5,
So is Hero Double Green Boba a joke? Is it a wasted showcase pull
No showcase is a waste! And I don't think he's top tier, but no slouch either. I'd recommend you try him with yellow and play lots of ambush units.
