I worked in a place that was exactly like that!!! I was the youngest at 25 and they all behaved like high schoolers

Yea I worked in a corporate setting for a few years that felt worse than high school. Everyone just dressed nicer 🤷🏾♀️ I super felt it when they talked about illegal overtime, forever competing with your coworkers, and for stupid little prizes while the company made millions 🤷🏾♀️ 🤷🏾♀️
Maybe it was worse because it was a lot of people's first "real job" out of high school - manager's included. They even had to email guidelines reminding managers they could NOT sleep with any subordinates during the holidays, no matter how liquored up they got at the party 🤷🏾♀️ 🤷🏾♀️ 🤷🏾♀️
Would never go back - and it paid a lot better than buzzfeed too 😅
Almost everyone that left buzzfeed talks about how shit is was. They are grateful for the opportunity & following, but it seems like a really toxic workplace
Shane and Ryan are the definition of "friends dressed like they're going to different functions"

I need more BuzzFeed tea. Hearing Ryan say in no uncertain terms that it’s an evil (work)place has me very very intrigued, especially since the smaller media companies that are somewhat similar in nature (i.e., Mythical Entertainment, 2nd Try LLC, Watcher Entertainment, etc) all seem to be really good places to work for based on what current and former employees are saying online.
It made me curious if their contract finally ended since they’ve been in limbo with BF for a while now
@@frostyskeletons8950 I hope they just bought the rights to Worth It and other video formats just like what the Try Guys did with their IP. They deserve to own those IPs imho, because they belong completely to these creators and not to BuzzFeed in all but name.

@@ninjaahjumma IP is hard tho. Because technically if you work somewhere and you create something for the company, the company owns it. Not you. This is the case with pretty much any industry. Which is why the try guys probably had to pay a lot of money to keep their name and any rights to their videos they made while at BF. I was actually super surprised when they re-released the drag video a few weeks ago bc I was shocked they got to keep that unused footage. Idk how much they paid BF for all that, but I can’t imagine that BF let it go cheaply.
@@monie802 very true, I would love for Shane/Ryan/Steven to keep their shows, but it would require a lot of capital. I think they’re doing a good job of staying “on brand” while not sued though with regards to them making spooky shows (for the ghoul boy fans), puppet history (to replace Ruining history), and food centric shows (in place of Worth It) on Watcher. It is sad to think Buzzfeed Unsolved might be over though as I think they were already burning out on it, but the manpower involved (researching, location scouting, plane tickets, film crew, etc) on top of just getting the rights seems like a very steep uphill battle

Re: coffee stain on table: put a damp towel on top of the stain and put a hot iron (for clothes) against it very lightly for a few seconds at a time. that can lift the stain.

hearing the intern stories is so heartwarming because they were rooting for each other🥺🥺🥺
I know 🥺 it clearly shows with how so many of them have stayed in touch and supported each other with jobs at their new companies. At the end when they were talking about how it was sort of a second college experience it made me kinda sad bc I haven’t had that sort of experience. I’ve just kept my head down and gone to classes and then gone home and since I commute 40 minutes I don’t go to campus for any events. I don’t really have a desire to do any of that but I definitely miss the camaraderie that I had in high school where everyone had known each other since we were little. I’m going off on a tangent here but I truly love the way these guys rooted and supported each other to get their careers moving
It’s so interesting to hear your behind the scenes and Buzzfeed stories since us as fans don’t always see how much effort you guys put into your videos and who’s in charge of which aspects
I’d love to see a Behind the Try Staff: a show focusing all the staff behind the scenes.
I remember several ex-staff revealing that they had to fight for the right to have credits in the videos. Early BF videos didn’t have them.
Them talking about their buzzfeed days has the same energy as Seth Meyers talking about SNL with exsnl cast
Honestly, I think the buzzfeed/SNL comparison is really apt actually. Kids get hired right out of college, hone their skills and get a crash course in “the industry” while having an unhealthy, stressful, blast. Make connections, and leave after a few years to do their own stuff, where they have a leg up from the experience.
