  • As human knowledge of space and its vastness has grown, the Solar System has come to feel like the local neighborhood. There is still a lot to discover close to home-how the planets, moons, and smaller bodies of the solar system are similar to Earth, and how they are different.
    Examining planetary systems and the origin of life is one of the James Webb Space Telescope’s core goals. Webb’s focus on infra Red light provides astronomers with the ability to study features of planet surfaces and atmospheres they could not see in visible light.

    Thumbs up for a narrator that doesn’t sound like his commentating on a car chase in 90’s America

    We haven't seen a fracture of our own galaxy yet, the universe contains so many stsrs and planets, I believe there is life elsewhere. Perhaps much further developed than us.
    Beautiful pictures in this documentary!

    I believe that there are billions of planets in each of billions of galaxies with life. I don’t believe any of us will find each other because it takes centuries to travel even to close stars. I just wonder how much money we will spend to find that out.

      Closest star is around 4 or 40 light years I think? Proxima - so that would take millennia at current speeds
      Edit: maybe eons

      I agree, no time to absorb one thought before he’s on to another. Few pauses here and there would help immensely.

    Until someone can show me how life arose from inanimate matter without the information to direct the process I'll just stick with the idea that an intelligent agent provided the information and directed the process of creating life on the earth.
    I contend that the reason there is no explanation in the minds of materialists as to how life got started is that they refuse to accept the obvious evidence of design. And why is that you ask. It is because the implications of life being designed by an intelligent agent (God) are just too horrible to contemplate for your average atheist.

    • @IB4UUB4ME
      @IB4UUB4ME Před 2 lety +2

      The reason why people do not want to acknowledge a grand designer is that would all of the sudden make them accountable or responsible for something larger than themselves. Yet we are rushing to “ create” AI , and when they do create artificial life, you better believe that they will want credit for there so-called creations!!!

      @@robertingham6123 Why don't you tell us who provided the vast amount of information that made all life possible? We're waiting.

    kepler was poorly designed thinking that our sun was common amongst others (noise ratio) and had a hard time from the start to detect true earth-like planets. The rare-earth hypothesis is something you can do math enough to realize that chances of intelligent life in a billion years time period on an habitable planet is indeed excessively hard to gather altogether. Let alone a moon our size that stirrs up the soup with its strong effect on our biosphere. Where's the other, older, british narrator ? Miss his own take and brit wit.
