''When I was 2 years old and my mother was 26, she left me in Santo Domingo with my grandma and my aunties, she went to Italy to find a job and settle for a new life. I stayed one year without her, then she came back to take me with her and we started a new life in Italy.
The song is about a blessing that a mother send to her daughter from distance, wishing her to find a way to live her best life even in hard circumstances. Lot of immigrant mothers leave their children to go find better opportunities, and those are special years you miss as a parent but at the same time you’re just trying to be the best parent you could be, working hard for your babe’s future. Some of them keep on living in other countries far from their sons because they don’t have documents to travel. '' -YEИDRY
