- Did you see the eventing jump field? đđź
In celebration of the USA eventing team qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, we welcome you to Boyd Martinâs Farm.
Many thanks to Boyd Martin and Silva Martin for an incredible day spent at Windurra USA in Pennsylvania. This property is unlike any we've featured before.

Now this is a real barn . One that's not so aesthetically perfect and that's a good thing. So tired of seeing all the perfect pritine barns that are mega barns. This has charm . For horse don't care what a barn looks like as long as they are properly well cared for.
David yeah. I bet itâs fun in winter. Hard pass
Sometimes it's nice to have a perfectly pristine barn because it shows they care about the impression and cleanliness of the barn. There are totally pros and cons but-
Petra MCCafferty I live near it and our winters arenât really that bad. This is similar to a lot of barns around here
Boyd says: âEvery day we train these horses very hard, and I need them feeling in tip-top shape for their competitions and next dayâs training. I canât begin to tell you how much improvement Iâve found with BEMER. It really helps with their recovery and circulation and itâs really made a difference.â Want to know more? fun fact of the day: This was a community group effort to rebuild Boyd's old barn that burned down.
This channel is pretty much Horse Vogue.
Thank you! đâ€ïž
@@NOELLE_FLOYD how many horses does this man own?
J P hahahaha
đ looks like a dump !
Nice to see one of these riders provide a normal barn and great sized turnouts. Horses appear happy and not wrapped in bubble wrap
Well it's only because the original barn burnt down.
horses donât get wrapped in bubble wrap ???
Lally itâs an expression that owners are so worried about their horses hurting themselves that they donât let them be horses eg. stall them 24/7
@@lally8359 there's a few places the horses get no tur out at all and is only ridden and in stables sadly
Trines Nails well most of the professional riders know enough about their horses well being that they turn them out. horses have to be horses đ€·đ»ââïž. And Iâm sure there is some kind of research that has proven that horses that go out get better results so Iâm sure that 99% of the professional riders (not only good ones in that lot thatâs for sure) have turn outs. Maybe theyâre not even grass fields but at least they get out đ€·đ»ââïž
I love how the facilities aren't totally perfectly polished, clean, everything in perfect repair. This is a WORKING barn with amazing arenas, XC, stables, it has it all. Resist the Wellington style barn, Boyd! :-D
why resist? You can have a working barn that is also gorgeous. I work as a stable manager and groom and the atmosphere really affects my work ethic. I dont need crazy chandeliers in the barn aisle or anything but clean and crisp environments make me work 10 times harder. A nice aesthetically pleasing environment just makes me happy and a happy worker is a good worker đ
Me too. I agree it is nice to work in an attractive environment but it is also nice to have an outdoor feel. For dressage I would need a covered barn ! Can't think how you manage đ
âIâd like to get a beautiful Wellington style barn with statues and fountainsâ wouldnât we all Boyd wouldnât we allđ
Windurra is SUCH a cool place, i love riding there and everyone is so friendly and down to earth!
but wow this video is kinda old haha -- he's talking about preparing for WEG and this was published the day after the Pan American Games lol... Go team, tho, congrats to Boyd's double gold!
Cracks me up how he says âI actually did not go in the houseâ when they were looking at it, and how he would have had the horseâs turn up to it instead of the lawn. A true horse person:)
this is how all trainers should be! horses get large turnouts and get to be horses! it's actually normal in Australia to have your horses on 24/7 turnout. not many people use stables
Not actually true. Very much depends on location, what side of the sport they are involved in, what level and etc.
@Arthur's Horse i think you've misunderstood my comment. i was responding to the incorrect statement that not many people use stables in Australia...
@@TheNonMakeupGuru i mean in general it is more common to to have your horses on turnout than stabling
So many horses in. Australia are in rural areas and benefit from a combination of stabling and paddocking. Summer heat is very strong so I stable the horses during the day and put them out as soon as the sun is low enough not to bleach their coats. No rugs except if mosquitoes are around. Stabled horses not rugged in summer as horses will paw the floor and bedding to make a mosquito dust deterrent.
@@bg588 im in no way against stabling at all and i will stable in extreme weather conditions :) in summer it is so hard to keep them cool if they dont have shelter so i 100% get that :)
I love his stables. They are really beautiful and I personally prefer it to the perfectly placed ott stables. This is really wholesome and his horses are stunning
The trouble with the top of the range stables, yards, schools etc. is that you would be scared to drop any straw, shavings, hay or feed on the floors in case the "boss" comes round..
I LOVED seeing the barn on a wet day- I am battling with my arena footing and drainage too so- it is great to get real and see others deal too. Sooo jealous over the all weather track! My winters are so muddy that we do a lot of walking on our winter hacks.
Ha! In NJ our own big Horse Park often has little ponds in the ring during the jumper classes.
he seems like such a down to earth, nice guy with all the best intentions for his horses and they seem to get amazing treatment and love!
So glad you remembered to remind of us how rough winter is, and thinking of the staff.
I know he wants to replace the stables, but that old fashioned rustic style of stable is absolutely Gorgeous, I'd rather have something that style that just feels more homely and handmade and has seen the ages than something pristine and fancy, but those are my own tastes!
I'd give anything to have those stables at 1:00
I like the look of old wood barns too, but like he said, he's in Pennsylvania and the winters are cold, wet, and under 3 feet of snow, so having an enclosed barn would be helpful. Sometimes if the wood from the old barns are in good condition, they can be re-purposed and rebuilt into a new barn with that rustic look. If it were me, that's what I would try to do, but everyone's got their own tastes.
Real horseman and a good look at a working farm. I have a bunch of those shed stalls made by the Amish in Pa. They come in handy, that is for sure. Great video.
The hospital wrist band on boyd is what makes the video
This is class, are you guys planning on doing some more videos of some top Showjumperâs yards?
We definitely have some more videos coming up! Next Monday we will be sharing another "Inside My Stable" with someone pretty awesome đ
I love how he holds his horses and they get plenty turnout! And love that the stable is imperfect!
Iâve been waiting for this đ
Just beautiful!!! Enjoyed this so so much. Love the Martin team!!! USA!!!
So happy with the transformation đ congrats you guys! That's how you rebuild for success đ
I could not help buy smile when I watched this I want to work here when I get older!!! This has been my dream!!!
I love the stable area and how good you are to your staff. This is literally my dream property!
Congratulations! Beautiful! What a Joy to see!
I honestly donât know how he manages in the winter without an indoor and covered barn. That must make it hard for him to attract clients and keep them.
I love that the horses get lots of turnout and love how down to earth he is.
im not sure he cares about clients, this property is for his and his wife's competition horses
What a beautiful property
Amazing farm! Truly beautiful. Congratulations to you and the team for great success in Lima. So happy for you all
Beautiful...!!!
I love how it looks beautiful its comforting
Now this is a real owner and professional!!!! I absolutely love the way he cares for his horses !!!â€ïžđ
BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's cool seeing his farm because I actually did a school project on him.
Awesome place! Thanks for sharing. I love how your horses come first!
Beautiful.
Love the XC course, great to see an Aussie đŠđș
Love Boyd and have huge respect for him as a rider and person after everything he and Silver have overcome!
Now, that's a dream property. The horses can run freely. Love these videos.
Beautiful! Good for you.â€
Love this yard, one that looks well used đȘđŒ
I just love Boyd Martin!
Wonderful!
so perfect for the horses - love it
Beautiful organized horse property. Thanks for the video!
I appreciate this, thank you.
The inlet impressive layout yet! Love it, love the Shed Rows (though itâs tough in the winter for the employees, Iâve been there) but very nice !
looks like real working horseman's heaven , congrats .
I do hope you and yours are safe in this pandemicđđŽBoyd Martin. Thank you for your wonderous and spirited service in this equine industryđđbeautiful place to have to train
God itâs so gorgeous... Iâd love to manage a barn like that after school. Itâs just so picturesque...
I really like boyed he seems really cool and down to earth
I loved this video
Most inspirational person + nevel đ
I love the stable block. Very charming, but I imagine that you have a point about the dangers in winter.
Absolutly đ
Really lovely place
I'm just SO impressed by the turn out you provide for the horses. I really hate the thought of horses living their lives in a square stall. I also love the fact that you don't have the showy, fancy barns that I've seen. So much money is wasted on those high end places. As long as the horses are happy, EVERYONE can be happy!
This is great thank you.
I love the water jumping and the open space for cross country
I got to see him and tsets at Kentucky they were incredible
Love your farm
I wouldn't mind working and training here, after college of course.
Half flooded area is fresh in my mind right now. That is how my lesson was today.
Unreal đ„°đ he is Australian right ? He thinks his property isnât glamorous itâs a lot more glamorous then 80% of properties here đ€Ł such an unreal facility
A G his barn is in PA!
Yes he is Australian
I very much enjoy your vidĂ©os đđ they are always so interesting
"Ol' boydy here" such a classic aussie, I love this đ
I like the way Boyd Martin's place looks! The riders at my barn have recently gone to Windurra for Cross Country schooling. I hope to go one day with my guy; it's like a Cross Country playground!
That's just it đ a playground
Boyd is pretty much me except he rides really well and may be more quick-witted. Haha. Always love his interviews.
This is the most wonderfull stable ever đ
Iâd love to see some western based barns from this channel
Thanks for the insight! We will keep this in mind for future videos. đ
I know
I ride western and when I watch all these videos and I havenât seen a western barn
Boyd is the best!!
Good to see Neville with all he went through. After that horrible fire you deserve the best
Aww the dog!
This sounds like it was filmed last year, with Boyd talking about a horse going to WEG in Tryon. Why so long before it was posted?
They have them all up on their own platform. They just recently started using the CZcams channel again.
@@punkequestrian That makes sense, thank you for letting me know!
@@punkequestrian Exactly! Although some of these video were filmed a little bit ago, they still are amazing content that we want to share with everyone! â€ïž
@@NOELLE_FLOYD and thank you. It's so nice to see how everyone has their own styles and it all works for horses.
Livin the dream! Everyone would love to have a Wellington style facility, but the horses donât care, and the results prove same. These animals are happy and healthy and I would kill to have such a beautiful place!! Something to be said about a stable that looks like a stable, not a 5* resort đ. Truly, livin the dream!!
Why is this so beautifully filmed?
So beautiful đđđ
I would love to ride one of your horses when it is retiring from eventing. I was a jockey and exercise riders back in the 80's and 90's. I live in Ohio now. You have a gorgeous farm.
This is class, are you guys planning on doing some videos of some top Showjumperâs yards?
We definitely are! Just wait until next week, we might have just what you're looking for! đ
Very interesting to see a top rider with just a regular looking barn. It would suck to work there in the winter though ..
I love the older, "rustic" type stables, refurbished or older. Especially in the northern areas like Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, etc. It just fits with the history and landscape. The newer, fancier types just makes everything more expensive and more harder to keep clean, etc. Horses don't really care where they are. But hey, everyone likes what they likes. An amazing piece of property, though.
I miss hunter jumper competition sooooo much. My thoroughbred developed navicular, so at least she enjoyed a peaceful retirement.
The feel seems like a horse factory, 30 horses to work for you to make you the winner, it's like nascar.
Loved This!!!! â„ Subbed. đ
Dream facility
7:25 Stephanie Simpson from Evention?!
I noticed to!
Stephanie is Boydâs head groom now!
I miss Evention đ
What happened to Evention?
@@mieshcahammond6006 The Schramms discontinued it.

Interesting: thanks. Subbed.
7:26 the dog đ
Boyd is a true horseman. A lot of top riders do not give their horse adequate turnout
4:34 did he just say... our boydy here?
too funny I bought a property with a mobile home. I could care less about the home it was the land and barn I was interested in. Beautiful piece of property.
omg his farm is only an hour from međČđ
old Boydi :) he seems to be a very lovely guy - an i love his stable but googled temperature in winter in pennsylvania. brrr ...
one of the best ever!!!!!
I live near here đ
Please do Laura Graves next!!!!!
What a nice placeđhow do you work the horses in the winter with the snow?
Many different barns in the north either have an indoor barn or they move somewhere a little bit warmer to escape the cold!
Could you maybe visit Michael Jung? Would absolutely love to see what his stable is like
1:40 they all looked at the same time. it's kinda pretty
My dream
luv it.. yeh. exactly the horses dont CARE !
Anyone notice stephanie from evention tv? đđđ
In today's world, as so many technogical advances have created the ability to pamper the horse to the fullest extent.
I've been to barns located throughout the most part of the globe and have seen amazing design set in place.
Some places have stalls that are literally so clean , and a staff that perfects the cleaning 24/7 , that the horses always look at them like , can I poop ? As to get the ok from the staff to dirty up the stall. I've seen places where the horses will let themselves out of their own stall when they have to pee. I swear it's unbelievable. I've also witnessed such mind provoking hard core staff, get so upset when a horse poops , for they have to clean it up. The owners of some of these types of places are extremist as to perfection. You know the the type. Where everything has to be so damn perfect , that one strand of straw left out of place , and all hell breaks loose. The kind of people who the farrier has some continually choice words to say about said owners because they are never ever pleased. The farrier has a hard job anyway with shoeing the horse ,but when you have to work for someone who is impossible to please, it's time to move on.
