I have studied music for 23 years and Ms. Patti is the only vocalist out there who can bring tears to my eyes. I remember being six years old and listening to her sing Over the Rainbow - I was hooked from that moment on. Yes, some of her performances are better than others, but there is still no other like Patti LaBelle.
Patti, with all the success she has had, and still has, seems so freakin' humble and down to earth it's amazing. She's a great example of how superstars should act.
Miss Osceola McCarty was a wonderful, wonderful very caring woman in life. She didn't have very much but she cared enough to give all she had to help educate those in need. Miss McCarty May your loving soul rest eternally in Heavenly Divine peace. Miss LaBelle you're an awesome singer and person. God bless you as well.

In a career literally covered with show-stopping performances, this by far in my estimation is one of Miss Patti's greatest! Her vocals were dead on, her sincerity was spot on, and her connection with the audience was perfect. They certainly don't make em like her anymore, especially this new breed of girl singers. What a crying shame that Patti is not in the rock and roll hall of fame yet.

My last semester of college (Fall '06) I came across this performance and after watching it back-to-back several times, (I'll admit that) I cried like a baby. This was such a powerful tribute to one of the greatest people in the world, the late Osceola McCarty. It has been Stated that she is the only Vocalist that can out belt an opera singer and have the lowest register doing it. Patti is Fantastic. I just googled this wonderful woman. I couldn't wait to see just what it was that she had done to get everyone so thankful. I enjoyed seeing people giving God His well deserved Glory in this wonderful event. Praise the Lord.
