Well i dont get your fascination of iphones skin tones, cause they are so off with how it flattens the face and adds the reds to the shot, but overall i do agree with pretty much everything.
You can easily dial down exposure by 1-2 stops in video on MI 11 Ultra since its only phone in this comparison that has PRO video mode for all rear cameras. Futher improving detail and noise easily beating iPhone 12 PRO in night time video. :)
It still won’t beat the iPhone video because dynamic range in night time still isn’t the same.

@@dannywinget I also found out that you will get best dynamic range on MI 10 Ultra (presumably on MI 11 Ultra as well) when you switch HDR 10 off in video settings. Since you need HDR screen to render it properly. So when you turn it off it will save SDR video with HDR content direcly inside it encoded as SDR if you know what I mean. :)
I'm not photographer nor image editor. Samsung S21 Ultra is the most eye candy for me.

Wow Xiaomi. S21 Ultra has been undefeated for a long time but I liked the night time rear camera more on Xiaomi. It captures more detail despite of some color inconsistencies.
Night time video was great on Mi11U too.

Mi 11 ultra has raw potential. That zoom setup is great for 5x onward. Largest sensor shows it's promise, just needs tuning for HDR especially highlight control. I expect with updates it will be the best for low light photos, on par for medium to far zoom. S21 ultra front facing camera will remain better as will portrait mode with native 3x. Right now: S21 ultra still photo king, and iphone still video king especially at night
For me :
Main sensor : Difficult to decide, each phone are good on some points and bad on anothers. But mi 11 ultra is indeed the one which has more potential, it is helded back by too much inconsistensy, with good software updates it could be really good
Zoom : Draw for Samsung and xiaomi, samsung is better at daytime (worse at 5x but way better at 10x), xiaomi at night
Ultrawide : Xiaomi clearly wins.
Video : Iphone wins, xiaomi is getting really close.
For me the mi 11 ultra is still better, but not by far and while waiting for updates, it is not a revolution at all.

for RAW better go with mirrorless. Phone are for fast and easy not post procesing.
I'm an S21 Ultra user but honestly I don't think you could go wrong with any of these 3 phones when it comes to photography. The Mi 11 after some software updates could be a real problem.
Same s21 ultra user as well, everything is just so close these days.
And there in highlights the problem with Xiaomi. Software updates. They aren't known for providing fast regular updates. They simply churn out phones at a rapid rate and do not offer consistent, true flagship support unlike Samsung. I'm perfectly happy with my s21 ultra.
Yup Mi Ultra is still new.. im very sure they will update camera firmware updates to improve it more. Its their flagship sure the updates are coming to maintain reputation

The problem of Mi 11 Ultra is software. Just install Gcam and it will probably beat these 2 phones
It is very refreshing to see a good comparison. There are so many bad reviews with people expressing just their opinions, showing talking heads 90% of the time and some even do not have any idea what aspects to look for in images. You get things right, showing comparisons and pointing out what you see while leaving the preferences and judging to those watching the video. Well done!
I found a favorite for me, which I am not going to name because it caters to just my preferences, consistency and reliability plus the OS I am used to.

S21 Ultra is the best amongst the three that you enlisted. Just go for it if you are on the fence. Lots of other advantages with Samsung.

As outras lentes fica aquela briga mas na consistência e na flexibilidade de opções s21 fica à frente. Tem ainda a câmera frontal que é a melhor do mercado incontestávelmente pode dar uma olhada em todos os comparativos não tem para ninguém é a melhor câmera do mercado eu vou fazer um review das câmeras em breve mostrando todas as opções e possibilidades que a câmera oferece destacando as vantagens de usá-las em cada situação e tem mais não importa o que a Apple faça eles não tem por costume mudar muita coisa de uma geração para outra o padrão deles é a qualidade e a consistência também porém não há flexibilidade e isso é o que você vai encontrar no aparelho da Samsung posso te afirmar categoricamente que muito mais do que qualquer outro flagship que tenha no mercado o HDR é um dos melhores o equilíbrio das cores acredito que seja o melhor do mercado na atualidade é claro que às vezes ele erra mas na média é um dos melhores se não for o melhor e esse item para mim é um dos mais importantes porque uma foto muito saturada ou muito irreal para mim não dá não importa o que tenha ela de nitidez. O aparelho não tá esquentando tanto contra outros aparelhos e teve algumas correções desde o lançamento que agora fazem ele ficar durando muito na bateria e durante o uso normal não esquenta mais somente em situações de extremo uso que é normal qualquer um desses aparelhos flagship esquentarem o carregamento dele não é tão rápido assim Porém na bateria ele é um dos melhores do mercado na linha dos flagships em termos de duração e mesmo assim com uma hora ele está carregado e não vejo problema nisso pelo contrário acredito que isso possa até ajudar a ter uma vida útil melhor para bateria a longo prazo sobre a durabilidade o aparelho é muito resistente e não tenho visto testes de durabilidade do xiaomi o que me preocupa um pouco todos os testes que vi são muito rasos

@@andresoares6005 esses outros flagships para competir com a Samsung que já vinha trazendo sensores grandes e bons também colocou nos seus aparelhos sensores muito bons porém o software deles precisaria de mudanças muito grandes para poder trazer equilíbrio e consistência no sistema e isso não aconteceu Por isso vemos uma enxurrada de atualizações tentando fazer o sistema deles ficar estável coisa que o da Samsung já está há muito tempo por isso quando você bate uma foto você não tem surpresas se virar muito azulada ou se virar esverdeada ou se virar amarelada ela vem com equilíbrio e praticamente nenhuma Te decepciona nos extremos que são as fotos de longe e as macros você ficará com o melhor do mercado sem sombra de dúvidas e nas outras lentes você terá o mais equilibrado e consistente de todos os aparelhos fora o celular em si que é bonito de qualidade rápido em nada fica a desejar principalmente na versão Black dele o meu é um da versão exynos de 16 GB de memória e 512gb de capacidade

Looking at this comparison I think some of the CZcamsrs blindly still claim the iPhone has the best video camera but I think Samsung did an amazing job with their cameras this time.
Samsung has good video especially during the day but it still doesn’t beat the iPhone. Night time it isn’t even close so it’s not “blindly” claiming it’s just the truth.

Hi Danny thanks for this great review ! What would interess me most is which camera ( the MI 11 or the S21ULTRA ) reacts best when using in manual mode ( not the iPhone )
S21 Ultra doesn't always use 10x optical lens in lower light. Probably 3x or when it's really dark it uses the main sensor.
All phones have their advantages.

I have tested it a lot recently... This is a AI "problem". They change to the main sensor during the night shots because the aperture on the 10x is minimal. Because of this, many times it produces horrible shots...

In SuperSaf’s camera comparison too, S21 Ultra demolished Mi 11 Ultra. Even in that lazy and biased review of Mrwhosetheboss, I still preferred the photos taken from S21 Ultra than Mi 11 Ultra. Arun’s known for showing bias all the time. S21 Ultra’s camera is better. Don’t need to worry. :)

Wait for xiaomi update the camera software, its a new phone without any software update yet. Currently the only reason samsung captured better images is better software that already being updated few times, while in term of camera hardware, mi 11 ultra is superior. Thats the reason its ranked 1 in dxomark ranking. Luckily i didnt purchase s21 ultra yet, gonna wait for xiaomi updates first then see the outcome.

FINALLY a review, where we have 3 kings from 3 competitors. Xiaomi as a future proof, great value and with time continuosuly developing huge sensor night photo king. Samsung as a reliable, great versatility and overall consistency offering zoom king. And Apple the forever after video king. :D
Idk how the xiaomi is future proof? The samsung has 10x optical zoom which will probably be coming to more phones NEXT YEAR. And it also has a better macro mode as well as way more potential for video. Just look at the note 20 ultra video performance, I'm sure samsung will improve

Great comparison, question though, wouldn't scene optimizer be better to activate since whichever scene the phone recognizes it processes the photo to the best of it's ability which gives better focus and details and such?

Mi 11 Ultra's picture quality is incredible, but it mostly benefits from the hardware. It has a lot to do to fully utilize the advantage.

I wish you could make a video with iPhone proraw vs s21 ultra 12 bit raw editing. To see which one has more color and dynamic range.
This would be interesting since Pro RAW works differently than 12 Bit RAW DNG. It would probably come down to post processing and since I am not the best at that it would probably make the iPhone images look better since Smart HDR is baked in to ProRAW shots. Thanks for the suggestion though. Something to think about.
