Where it says (last stand) that is the title of their farewell tour performance in 1983 which at the time set a new Australian record for selling out within 13 minutes of tickets going on sale, that’s how adored and loved they are by the Australian public in the 80’s

What a lot of people fail to understand, is how good Don Walker was on the keys, what you think is a guitar playing rhythm is actually Don on the keys keeping the beat along with the bass and drums, fantastic band.

For another brilliant live performance from Cold Chisel, you gotta go with ‘Bow River’ Live 2003. The guitarist, Ian Moss, takes the lead vocals for part of the time and Jimmy Barnes, does the rest. There is also a killer harmonica performance from David Blight. Guarantee you’ll be smiling all the way through that one too!

As already said, glad you found Cold Chisel.
In my opinion, they are up there with any band you care to name when it comes to live performances. They always gave it their all - whether in the larger venues in front of 1,000s or the smaller pubs/clubs with less than 200 in the audience.
I was fortunate enough to see them in the smaller places and they were great.
Two other live performances worth checking out are "Bow Rive" and :When the War is Over" from the Ringside 2003 shows.

Im 60yrs old and grew up thru the golden era of Aussie music, we were so lucky, I'll give you a few others you may want to dive into. Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, Russel Morris -Real Thing / ACDC of course, Cold Chisel - all of it / INXS / The Angels / Rose Tattoo / Hunters and Collectors thats just a few from the 70's. most went on for decades. Aussie bands had to be good live, if they weren't the audiences in the pub venues they played were brutal. only the great made it. and there were so many. real, raw, rock

Billy Thorpe playing Mama is a good starting point.

Last Stand refers to the name of the live concert movie made at this period when they were breaking up. This is just one of the songs from that movie that was released back then.
Jimmy, (the drunk one) and the drummer were often having fights in the band in this early 1980's period so this was one last tour of concerts in Australia before the went their different paths. Think the drummer would play in Little River Band for a couple of albums. Cold Chisel did reform decades later for some concerts and some new albums. I went and saw them in the early 2000's and about a decade ago.
