Good Friday afternoon Travis I'm on my lunch break.. I'll catch your video tonight when I get home from work.. I worked 14hrs yesterday so when I was exhausted from the long busy week..
@@TWAMotorsports good Sunday morning Travis.. happy Halloween to you and your family...be safe out there....
Good to know how to do this for the future!! I’ll wait to ask questions if any till the end since this is part 1. Thanks Travis!
Buddy I love your videos. I’m getting ready to put a 6.0 and 4l80 in my 99 nbs .
Quick note on GEN3 decat. You can turn off the cat codes like, P0420 and P0430 (and rear O2 codes) but the GEN3 PCM still commands the cat test. It commands extra fuel to check the reaction of the rear O2s. So if you remove the rear O2s the PCM goes into a cycle that it cannot answer. Some strap the O2s to the frame. I leave them in the pipe.
@@TWAMotorsports GEN4 you can actually unplug the rear sensors and get rid of them but also important to turn off "desoot mode" in that case.
Perfect timing, About to do the same thing to my 05 rcsb. Can I ask what kind of tires and size are on the red stepside. They are exactly what I been looking for? Instant subbed👍
Thank you. They are 2015 up Sierra wheels. I listed a link to tires on red truck videos. 275/40-20
I plan to get lq9 and use the rebuilt/goodies as well in the 4l60e that I have laying around, I don’t tow much on my single cab so I do want to get 40k cooler etc but here I am debating if I should get it with 4l80e instead…. lol
Where did you buy the polished aluminum center caps without the ugly gold bowtie for the green truck? I have looked everywhere but can't find them
Hey man I’m doing a header swap on my gmc what should look out for I would just wanted to know why should I look out for since you have had a lot of nbs trucks
Is that your old white Tahoe for sale sitting on 13 hyw just south of Warrensburg
Ah, the fun of owning your own lift. I just lay on the ground the hoist the trans off my chest once it's unbolted.
For the swaped 6.0 hd engine, the 4l80 will fit directly and tune without needing for any extra wiring or anything else?
Ok, Denali Deen here again lol. So I've been researching the swap, and I'd like to know your thoughts on this VS just putting in a Performance Heavy Duty 4L60e build, to avoid the swap fitting process? Also, Have you any thoughts on rear diff upgrades, or even front diff HD upgrades, to better handle more power, rather than just relying solely on the tranny to handle it all? I'm asking bcuz my 4L60e is starting to go, and will go to the top of my list for repairs and I wanted to go ahead and do what I could in the process......
I had to replace my rear main on my 5.3 and let me tell you it was a pain in the ass without having the right tools and transmission jack
4l80e will always be stronger than a built 4l60e, but it's also a major power drag. Unless your 5.3 is Supercharged you'll never put out enough power to damage either if done right.
I didn’t know about taking the starter off to get the torque converter bolts n I did it with the starter on 😂it was a pain
@@TWAMotorsports got the bolts between flywheel and block n used my fingers to start them and it’s brought just for the wrench to fit in
Looks like that exhaust might have been cooking your trans fluid that close to the pan. Watching to see how you address on re-install.
@@TWAMotorsports After watching all the videos, it looks lower. Is that what drags the ground or is it the crossmember adapter?
Why the 4l80e? Strength right. but did any of the gear ratios get changed? Why not rebuild a stronger 4l60e with better gear ratios?
Actually the 4l60e could be built for more power but the separation between gears is not as good as the 4l80
@@TWAMotorsports can't you put better gearing in the 4l60e to make it just as good? Or does separation between gears mean something else?
They must not use salt on the roads where you live!
@@TWAMotorsports Wow! Your trucks are in beautiful shape. It actually motivates me to spruce mine up a little
nice shop nice tools seriously lacking EXPERIENCE! To many fails to explain. Anyone that does this will Understand!
Great to see the green Nbs love that truck
Yeah. Poor thing
